I don't believe this story. The Oba of Lagos couldn't have stooped so low as to say that. This was supposedly a closed door meeting for which the writer of the story does not claim to have been present. This is another case of PDP propaganda until proven otherwise.

I am not even concerned about the Oba's statement because I have not confirmed it.

I am ashamed at the posts of people here.

I wonder What will happen If Ibos boycott the elections and PDP still wins.

All the Buhari supporters I know are voting PDP.

They are forgetting that Agbage is like Buhari in Lagos.
Agbaje like buhari in Lagos but in the wrong party. He won't win

Of course there'll always be smart, intelligent ways, the perfect words and an articulate way of constructing sentences to justify it right?

Obviously, everyone sane person knows he went about it the wrong way.

But hey, you can't tell a grown ar.se man, especially the custodian of the land/culture/tradition how to act.

To all those who are championing tribal hate, confirm it first before spewing anything. I had to Google it up and all I saw wasnt confirmed cause the oba hasn't replied anyone yet. If this is false then Agbaje will lose by a landslide ask Dosumu but if its true then Ambode is gone.

The elections would be peaceful, that I can guarantee but Agbaje winning, that I can't. By the way, agbaje visited my street this past week.

Don't deviate please - I wasn't talking about the Oba.

My comment was how funny it is that APC's slogan 2 weeks ago was change and now, they've modified to continuity.

You quoted me and explained with a very articulate construction of words how the change in the centre also means change in Lagos even if APC wins.

That was when I replied saying that I'm not surprised there's a ready justification for that turn.

I was not commenting about the Oba

You're an idi.ot, effing stark illiterate with dump for brain matter!

Is that enough to warrant the nonsense you spouted about Igbos being the brain behind Lagos? If you have got a brain, you would know that your stupid post was an unwarranted attack on those from Lagos.

You plonkers honestly think the wealth of state comes for little road-side traders. Have you ever taken time out in ya wretched and vacuous life to check where Lagos gets majority of its income from? Ditto other cosmopolitan cities in world, similar to what Lagos is?

Fvcked face pillock!

I reiterate: are your parents from Lagos?
You just dey shout up and down on top thread.

Calling someone an illiterate, yet behaving like those boys you find in a Lagos motor park.

Is it difficult to admit the man was wrong? I don't care if he is the Oba of the whole world. He was wrong...periood! Stop shouting! Hia!!

Why cry over an election that hasn't taken place yet? Elections don't happen online, we'll see at the polling stations. I repeat 'Lagos is a no-man's land'. Even you may not be from Lagos. What I detest is someone from a SW state that's not Lagos claiming Lagosian. Some of us that are not from Lagos or even a SW state have more properties and investment and pay taxes to Lagos state and you tell me we are not Lagosians. People with wisdom know that JK is the next Governor. We don't want a stooge who once robbed the state for his master. Instead of you to castigate your erring area father you are here comparing a tout to the great Oba of Benin. Forty whips with a wet camel's tail to your bum and that of your demented Oba. APC has been shouting'change'. Now in Lagos, they don't want change. That change they've been clamouring for will happen everywhere from the presidency to the state.
April 11 is just 5 days away; we shall see who will last laugh. Phahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

So you believe this trash? See what Thisday said:

The victory of the non-indigenes of Lagos, THISDAY gathered, has not gone down well with the Lagos chapter of the APC.

Speaking at a meeting with Igbo leaders in the state, according to an online news medium, Freedom Online, the first class monarch, who failed to recognise the cosmopolitan nature of Lagos, said:
And people are here cursing and foaming at the mouth over junk news from a junk site. I am truly ashamed of my countrymen

He sounds like an uncouth illiterate - not to mention being highly delusional about his own importance as the "owner" of Lagos. 90% (and I'm being very generous) of Lagosians - including Yorubas - don't know his name or give a toss about him and 99.9999% couldn't recognize his ugly face if they saw him tomorrow. It's a shame most Igbos wouldn't be voting and are generally indifferent about Lagos politics - else he basically just guaranteed Ambode's defeat. How thick can you be to think your empty threats and chest-beating would dissuade anyone? The few Igbos I know on Facebook that are voting basically just swore they'll vote for Agbaje because of our agbero Oba - even though they initially wanted to vote Ambode - and are rallying other Igbos to do the same. So what has his illiterate rant achieved?

What a cretin.

This isn't about being partisan or non-partisan. I believe he explained the reason for his choice in the article - folks just decided to sensationalise the crude threats he made.

He's the custodian of the land and he's still on the throne of his ancestors, and future generations. So, he wants the best for Lagos. Based on all the massive projects going on in Lagos at the moment, I believe they have all agreed that continuity and aligning with a favourable center would be the best option for the state to get things done (he said that explicitly in the article). However, it seems Igbos are hell-bent on derailing that cause of action, hence the threat.

If I were Igbo - based on this threat, especially when the two candidates are both Yorubas - I'd take time out to think deeply. Imagine what will happen when there's a strong Igbo candidate? You don't want to imagine that, do you? These Yoruba folks aren't smiling right now, and it seems you have pushed them to the wall. Act right!

^^^^

undecided

In one breath you claim Alhaji Akiolu's remarks were crude threats sensationalized by the press and the public. In another breath you claim he wants the best for Lagos (whatever that means) and all voters should fall in line or else... undecided undecided. What exactly is your point?

There is a gaping contradiction in your post and it needs to be set right. Nigerians (no matter their ethnicity) have the right as free citizens of this Republic to vote for whoever they wish. Those rights are non-negotiable, no matter what anyone thinks. Nigerian voters have the right to choose their leaders without fear of intimidation or coercion by any authority. Why is this matter even up for debate? angry

As I stated earlier, it is in the interest of the Oba of Lagos to issue a statement to address this matter immediately. Silence is not an option.

Yes.

The Oba owes no one any explanation. He said it and he meant every word of what he said. The message is clear

I just advise those who he addressed to make the necesary adjustment cos when it starts now, Na you go bear the brunt

Oba Akiolu, For saying this, I have found a new level of respect for you.

Any Shidioma, Shidioke or Shiwere who wants electoral post should face Aba, Umuahia or Enugu
