The value of Naira to dollar depends on oil price. The oil price is still low. Mind you, Iran sanction may be lifted by June and it means pumping more oil to the world market and invariably will affect crude price bringing it down to may be 35-40 USD per barrel. Except we devise other means of export revenue, the Naira will be dependent on crude price. |

So I went to standard chartered bank ds morning to deposit my $ ,asked d lady if I could do a transfer to my naira account after conversion and she said yes...she gv me a rate of 197 and it's free of charge sinc I have naira acc thr too.. told her i'l wait till thurs/Friday n see how it goes |

Its far better to sell today at bank than via the Black Market. Dont blame them, they want to insure their risks as too many people coming to sell. But i know today at Sheraton Abuja, BDCs bought in the morning at 185 Naira and this afternoon they are already buying at 190 Naira. |

Another reason for dollar crash is the cbn policy that stops bank from sending physical cash. You buy from bank through their inflow and the send to your customer abroad if you are into business. It will certainly affect black market. |

sholatech: Looks plausible because I got out Naira with my foreign Dollar MasterCard at the rate of N192.37, which is even better than the black market rate. I am baffled myself. Maybe I will wait until month end before I change my dollars. |
