I'm not accusing a whole body here, but can confidently point you as one of the awardees that campaigned against him. I have my evidences.

I don't think any sensible and business savvy youwin awardee would have campaigned against GEJ except some who has embezzled the first tranche.

1Dray, you cannot accuse a whole body just on your assumptions.

Thanks

The truth is that a sensible business-savvy person does not dabble into politics.

Yesterday within hours after Buhari's victory I saw him together with Dangote, Otedola and Wale Tinubu. Those were the wise ones who refused to openly support any party knowing fully well that the wind could blow in any direction at any time.

I saw some Youwin awardees openly campaigning for GEJ on this thread some weeks back and spewing all kinds of invectives. Now the tide has turned and the new party could actually use the uterances of some Youwin awardees on Nairaland to actually kill the program (who knows).

A wise business person must be publicly neutral in order to always remain relevant, I hope we all learn from this. Many of us should actually have anticipated this change and prepared accordingly.

I am not an APC supporter although I support the idea that Nigeria needs some kind of shift at this point in time.

I disagree.

In business, decisions that would affect the going concern status of the entity are never joked with. Political situations or risks are always critically analysed and mitigants put into place.

Every youwin 3 business had to make a political decision based on their future financial outlays. Indifference or non-alignment would have been a wrong strategy.

Politics is business and business is politics.

Dangote is a savvy business man with very strong political skills. He might not campaign openly but he funds every major opponent discreetly.....and they all know it. The Nigerian Corporate Forum (of with Dangote is a member) was aligned to GEJ.

Every youwin 3 awardee who was politically 'neutral' took a wrong business decision except the remaining 70% of funding was not critical to the business for the 2015 year plan.

I believe before the end of next week the Youwin secretariat will communicate to us our fate, so let's just be patient. My mentor told me last night that he doesn't think the ministry of finance will leave us halfway, I just hope he's right!

But please let's start sending inquiries to the Youwin secretariat on what to expect.

You are still making the same mistake I had been talking about all along. An inteligent and wise person could easily deduce that something had changed in our Socio-polititical climate.

You should have known that things would change regardless of whatever effort you made.

Like I said, continuing on that same line of thought could actually give the new government more reason to scrap youwin.

Be careful what you say online, I am 100 percent sure that high-ranking people from both the outgoing and incoming government regularly visit this particular thread.

You are a business person and it takes wisdom to run a successful business that can stand the test of time. I hope you understand what I mean, you can read between the lines.

I would prefer you come out bold in your assertions.

If you have grudges with either me or my posts, be bold enough to point them out.

Making blanket assumptions and diplomatically calling me unwise is what I would not tolerate.

I have pointed out in my earlier posts that being neutral is not the best way to go.

Yes, it takes wisdom to run a business.... and a wise person would have prepared for the probability of a government change.

Trying to prevent a change in government is also a business decision.

And do you think I stand not to defend anything I say online? I am not a ghost and people know how to get to me.

My argument remains...If you are an awardee and still clamoured for a change in government, then you should have made plans for other financial sources.

Let's focus on the facts and leave personal sentiments out of this discussion.

Now that we have a new government coming in by May, our steam should be directed at our future prospects instead of fanning personal egos.

Did you campaign for Buhari?

Even before the elections. ...as early as even before first tranche, we had discussions on the continuity of youwin should a new government come into power.

I can remember vividly that I advocated for our first tranche to be treated as if it would be the last tranche...A lot of sane people also said this.

I treated my first tranche as the last tranche and my business can survive without any additional funding.

However, due to some other people's business peculiarity, it might not be possible.

It does not mean they are unwise and the use of such words to describe awardees should be frowned at.

We are now at this cross road.. ..We have wto options; to keep on bickering or to come together as one voice to find a solution.

And no, I never campaigned for Buhari or against Jonathan.

Dear Youwin 3 Awardees;
Let's all have one voice, this is a time we need to be united as awardees and let the secretariate know that they can actually help us fasten the remainder tranches or just the 2nd disbursement if possible before hand over, fighting ourselves won't help. In as much as we were advised to see our first tranche as the last, there are business that can't be operational with the first tranche no matter how u squeeze, or will we now say that those in this category are unwise by starting something with the hope that GEJ will return? Please I beg us as Youwin 3 awardees to come together for you never know what a united voice can do.
And let's be smart enough to know that its not all that post on this thread are youwin3 awardees, some ain't awardees but just come here to disorganise and spoil the Youwin project. Lets not be quick to counter all post we see here especially the non-positive ones, lets learn to ignore them please. Thanks

You've said it all and I solidly remember that, glad I took that route.
The agreement we all signed did notify us of the government's ability to modify or cancel this program without notice. Our prayer is it continues and grow beyond us, impossible is nothing.

I think it might be too early to predict what will happen to YouWiN for sure, though the chances look bleak.

My guess is that YouWiN 3 might scale through since it was budgeted for in the last budget, but YouWiN 4 and beyond is much more uncertain.

You are right.

Since it was in the budget, it becomes statutory.

However, the new government will be doing a budget ammendment to allow them implement their own projects. Some plus and minus should be expected.

Precisely! Therefore, the direction of our prayers should be that Tranche 2 will scale through before the "Minus" scale through. Since Tranche 2 will do for almost 'if not all of us'.

By the way I think we all need to start connecting with Coordinator & NOI as we are dying for an update, those Secretariat respondents 'to me' most times just diplomically tell you they are as clueless as you are.

Emphasis should be to appeal to Fed govt. on the payment of the 2nd tranche and making provision for 3rd tranche before swearing in that's all. Its still Jonathan's govt and the new govt cant stop a project until it has resumed office. But problem we know is a lot has gone into campaign and the current economic situation. The ministry of finance can still get our tranches out so guys do not panic and fight each other. We've been a prayerful team and i guess this is time for yet another round of fasting and prayer. All hope is not lost yet for youwin 3 disbursement. Infact i strongly believe we will get paid our 2nd tranche soon.

cheers

I call on All awardees, most especially youwin3,post awardees(if you have register for youWin4) and all the men of Goodwill to join in 7days fasting,21 days daily prayer starting from easter sunday 5th till 26th April, with this prayer point 'Thy favour be done O'lord on payment of youwin3 tranches and YouWin program continuation' so that there will be divine touch to the incumbent Govt and the upcoming Govt to continue this Youth innovation programm, come on push on lets Pray our way out, dont take this for granted, there is nothing God cannot do,the Lord is our light and salvation we will fear no situation (Psalm 27 vs 1) I believe the Fed govt. Will pay out 2nd tranche soon and is making provision for 3rd tranche before swearing in, because Youwin was started by God to better our people's life. Its still Jonathan's govt and the new govt cant stop a project becos there is a lot of credits to it.we should also pray against d spirit of negligence, corner cuttings, misrepresentation, enermies of backwardness, let also pray for divine hitch free fund disbursement by The ministry of finance because What is written on earth is written in heaven, yes God appoints leaders, becos every leadership is constituted in heaven, we are winners and,so it is also been declared in heaven,God will not allow our destiny to be frustrated as God has started it so I believe God will finish it and we all will rejoice at the End. so guys do not panic and fight each other again in this thread. We've been a prayerful team and i guess this is time for yet another round of fasting and prayer. All hope is not lost yet for youwin 3 disbursement. Infact i strongly believe we will get paid our 2nd tranche soon, because God is Absolutely in control.

Just got this mail from Youwin some minutes back, God is on our side, so let's be hopeful. So its up to us now, those awardees that will be selected randomly for visit by the secretariat staffs themselves, should put all things in place because the outcome of there visit might be a big determinant towards the extention of the program, all the best guys.

Dear ......
M&E ID ....

This is to inform you that staff of the YouWiN! Secretariat will be conducting spot checks (visits) to a random selection of awardees over the next 2 weeks. During these visits, they will validate the status of your business including the number of jobs recently reported by you.

Please note that monitoring visits by SMEDAN and Independent Monitors for the validation of tranche 2 milestones (to those who have triggered) will also commence within the next two weeks.

Ensure that you make yourself available if you are contacted for these visits and be cordial.

N.B: Please note that this email is sent without prejudice to the prerogative of the Federal Government of Nigeria to withdraw, terminate or modify the YouWiN! Programme at any time without notice to you.

Thank you.

YouWiN! Secretariat

Note:
Participation in YouWiN! is FREE for all components of the program, and has not authorized any individual or organization to collect payments for participation. Candidates and awardees are advised to make no payments to anybody on account of YouWiN! participation and are required to immediately contact the secretariat should anyone request payment
