Yes, a scientific book on evolution. Some are easy to understand, while others are complex to grasp.

I must admit however, that I too, in my uni days , even as science student, blocked my mind to the theory of evolution for the very same reason: It destroyed my worldview by presenting a mindless series of processes to explain the beauty and diversity of living things.

I rejected it, not because I understood its flaws, but because I simply didn't like it. The fact that it describes very complex processes occurring millions and billions of years ago made even easier to reject.
Much of my countrymen seem to be stuck in this frame of mind.

Evolution is actually quite elegant in explaining the diversity of nature, diversity of life, diversity of humans.

The one big problem with evolution is: No god required.
