I also heard principality didn't get her ipad. Info we heard was that she was ill for some days, sent a msg to her then boss who ignored and did a mail against her, the outcome was she wasn't paid since March till now. I heard she resumed and dint know until later she got to find out wehn she didn't get paid and she was then told in May that she was laid off!, as a result of her ex boss mail. I heard. She is still on the case as she has not left yet. My point is, even if she left, that's the National best for Gods sake, why won't you reward her hard labour. I heard she even travelled to Ekiti state one time to source accounrts. Pls Hebert Wigwe and Bolaji should do something, at least give her A fair hearing. Her full. Name is Esther K. Akpan . People are just heartlessMy God!!!

If this story is true, then it's really unfortunate. The workers however aren't totally helpless. They can and should go to court to enforce the promises made by the management of the bank. Why should you beg for something that belongs to you rightfully?
The law will not force a willing employee on an unwilling employer and vice versa, but the law will ensure that they get their fair share plus interest in the event of delay.

Unemployment has caused desperation. In the absence of a crocodile, you eat a lizard! But what is this? Prayers may not sort this out until our graduates are ready to stand up without fear and voice out.

Op jst reminded me of how ACESS Bank employed me in 2005 as customer care assistant to transfer old customers account of Capital and Marina Banks, which were then newly acquired by Access Bank. Was paid 20K per month. I didnt even border to try see whether i could b retained. I jst left and went homwe to be sleeping as soon as d project was over.
It was too stressful. I swore never towork in a bank again.

You guys signed the contact... if it's not convenient... walk away and keep your mouth shut...

I'm sure you know you're going to get sacked... that's why these complains are best done by the unions...

Access Bank Y I reactivated my abandoned intercontinental bank account with them few months ago and was going to use it for savings. I think I will have to suspend that for now and continue with the banks I use presently untill this is verified and sorted.

Access Bank treat your personnels well o.

These are issues the NLC should be looking out for and fighting on behalf of our ever struggling youths...but no...they are rather running parallel structures because of greed...our problems in nigeria are just too much to bare...

Its bad...I feel like crying..

In all honesty, I felt really emotional reading this. This is nothing but pure slavery. Even core financial institutions that ought to be the bastion of professional ethics are the ones breaking all the rules in the books.

I don't know, but I think this would make for a very strong case for some human rights lawyer. Sue these guys' assses to hell and milk them dry. This is just outrageous.

The greed of these bankers far surpass that of our politicians honestly.

I took out time to read your post. Well, I must say that if your position on this issue is correct then what Access Bank did is unacceptable.
However, at every point in time we must compel employers to reduce any contract of employment to writing. If u had/have a formal contract with the said bank then you and your colleagues can approach the court for redress.
Indeed what they did is inhumane to say the least.

See the way Nigerian graduates are suffering..

Later they'll say slavery has been abolished..

My advice to bank contract staffs (and to all graduates): startup a business, no matter how little it is, and be your own boss. I know the country is hard, buh beleive me you, reduce your expenses and save a lot. Startup something and stop being a slave to those banks!

I need at least #200,000 to sartup my business, God see me through ma hustle.

Inshort ehhhh u no lie ooo notin pass be your own boss and work at yr own pace without issues from anybody.

@rightthing276, what moral right do you have to call people junk heads? Do you think you are better than them or are you part of the HR team that appraised or assessed them? You should really work on your character and learn how to respect your colleagues.

sorry For this. life is unfair. but I know of a bank with low reputation which by all means treat their staff and contract staff much better than all these big name banks

their salary for both contract and full staff is far better than the rest. I heard they r 5th on the list they are the only indigenous serving bank in the country. I m talking of Wema Bank. you can try your luck... and try to patronize them today.
