Hello everyone,

I want to get a Scanner that is compatible with my Bimmer 520i 1998 model. I surfed the net and found this brand, MS509 paragraph OBD2 EOBD Scanner.

My question is this, is the above scanner compatible with my car? Has any Bimmer owner used this on his Bimmer?

I will appreciate expert advise/suggestions please.

Thank you.

It's a thoughtful thing to bring us as one family I believe with this forum we can share ideas and problems that will help us all in finding the BMW the most easiest and most simple car to maintain not like other people think of it as the most complicated car, I'll love Beemer till I die

Hello all, I'm car hunting and being tossed around. I really want to get this 2004 7 series Benz or 2005 5 series which I saw on auction export, clean title and all. I can afford to buy the car but everyone I have consulted have dissuaded me on the basis that the car is expensive to maintain and I may not find a good mechanical...same thing for the Benz, was think of a 04/05 E class.

Please will I have to give an arm an a leg to maintain these cars? How readily available are the parts.

About the 7 series I don't really know anything, but I can say the 5 Series is pretty solid car and not that expensive to maintain,,mechanics in Nigeria? mmmmm don't really know,, the Benz E class too

If anyone says vinyl wrapping is easy without heat, they lied. My modest efforts so far.

Hi, Nice job you did here. If i may ask, where did you buy the vinyl film from. Was it here in Nigeria/Lagos.
Would you please give me the detail address too.
Been searching for a while before hitting this thread. Thanks

I drive a BMW 3 series E90 (2007). It's low, when compared to other cars but that's because its designed to function as a sports car. I have the occassional scratching of the underbody with the ground but I'm usually careful about where I go with the car. For me, and just like you, I really cant drive anything else because of the power and control that comes with driving a BMW, you'd hardly find that in anyother car in its class (or lower). Treat a BMW right, and it'll take care of you, that's my motto.

Before the 2007, i used a 3 series coupe 93. It was the most beautiful car in the world to me, till I got the 2007 and I've kept the right maintainance culture/attitude up until now and so I really have no worries. One key thing is to identify an Auto Mechanic who has the right experience and technical skills on BMWs. I can recommend an auto service center, if you don't mind, and I'll encourage you to call them. Exclusive Autos and Parts, they are located in Lagos Isalnd. You can call me on 08055096969 for more information or call Seyi on 08136749727 to schedule an appointment. They have a diagnostic tool used for fault finding and their prices (for services) are very affordable.
hm,sounds like its also perfect and durable if placed on a perfect road,I'm contemplating acquiring one, which model do you recommend for me?

I'm driving a BMW E36 American Spec Coupe.... i'm having issues with the tie rod and ball joint lately, which I took the car for repairs, unfortunately the mechanic guy ripped me off by taking off the ball joint and tie rod to refurbish it (changing the rubber at the ends or maybe hitting the ends with a heavy metal for it to be firm) twas ok for the first two days till I drove to a bad road and it starting making the unusual noise like something wanna pull out under the car....

Now I wanna know how much a new ball joint and tie rod assembly cost for E36 1999 Series, and I stay in Uyo, Akwa Ibom and unfortunately I dunno where to see a good BMW mechanic here.... and the cost for a clutch release bearing.... cos some of dis mechanics are willingly to rip you off if you don't know the price of a car part

So any ideas?

Any most of all...The car is a BEAST!! Low fuel consumption and an M-Package Ride

I need ur ideas to get dis Machine back to the road again

I recently bought a BMW 316i (2014). Nice car enjoyable ride, but i have some issues:

(1) I always put tracking system on my cars but now for this car, coscharis(where i bought the car) advice me not to temper with the electric system by putting a tracking system. They Advice me to use comprehensive insurance. So, pls, can somebody tell me if is really not safe to install a tracking system on my BMW or will the comprehensive insurance be a better option.

(2) No spare tire or jack! Does it really work? The BMW came with a run flat tire. How reliable it that? i haven't had a punctured tire since i stated driving the car, but what if when i have. BMW claim that, i can go 100km with a flat tire, that will give me enough time to drive to my BMW dealers to repair the tire. Pls, is there an easier way to deal with this issue? I honestly prefer the spare tire.
