Marriage is an institution backed up by law and morals. Imagine marriages lacked the backing from the law. The husband can abandon his wife and suffer no legal and moral consequences. If there is no coercion how would the marriage work? It just can not. God does not come down himself to enforce marriages.

There is more danger with the rate of men and women coupling and having babies and pushing every boundry of the earth with population, so many people that they are mashed like rodents on the roads in auto accidents.
So many people that communicable diseases spread easily and quickly. Land, water and other resources grow more scarce by the day, even the air is not so breathable anymore.
What is my business with what people do in their private quarters when they are not bringing out herds of children to push the population to overage levels and making it easier to suffer in future generations..

Judges all over the world, including the US, most times defer to their cultural/religious beliefs when the law is silent on some disputes. I mean it would be tough for a Nigerian judge to overturn a ban on gay marriage, with the knowledge that he/she may forever be ostracized by his hometown

If you check the profile of the Supreme Court Juctices of Nigeria, majority of them don't come across really as the brightest bunches.

I would expect more of guttural judgements from them that ones based on high intellect and logic.
