The problem of roads in this particular part of Lagos is that Ago-Okota axis with Amuwo-Odofin used to be one huge swamp in the 70s and 80s .The peculiarity of this terrain was not often considered when building these roads. I hope these roads will be noted when it is fully rehabilated. Fashola did a good job on considering the terrain of Ago Palace Way, which though uncompleted due to many litigations initiated by Landlords whose buildings are on the proposed and expanding right-of-way.

These pictures depict the deplorable state of Okota road. What is even most disturbing is the fact that this road is not listed as part of the roads earmarked to be fixed by the LASG.

The road is under construction and I believe that's why is not listed on. The state of the road is far better compare to how it's before. What dey did is to work on one side of the road, from roundabout left side to century and work is going on then. The most worst area there is last bus stop, amonota, ap and to join where it stop around cele before going to apple junction. (That guy on last pics putting on blue dashiky is a guy working with my little brother)

This is officially the worst road in Lagos at the moment.
I saw hell when i made the mistake of using it to link Festac yesterday(saturday).

The people in that area should be protesting at the governor's office everyday!

Lagos is overpopulated and MUST be decongested. Something should be done about the endless migration of certain people to Lagos. The infrastructure can no longer cope. I think sooner or later the authority in Lagos should protest and repel the long throated bloody migrants from across the river- nonsense look at the state of that road.

lack of good maintenance culture spoiling 70% of Nigerian roads, formation of agencies like FERMA, various state govt road maintenance agencies (thou some states don't have at all) was suppose to check and curtail the problem but all in all, the oga, the ultimate himself, "Mr Corruption" won't
Re: Deplorable State Of Okota Road (PHOTOS) by dozymars(m): 5:25pm On Jun 28, 2015
That road is soooooo bad.
Mega city indeed.
We have no maintenance culture

That is why South Africa is far ahead of Nigeria. This kind of things will never happen in SA. The people would have rioted and stoned the Governors car or burnt down the local government office for not fixing the roads.

NIGERIANS ARE IDIOTS AND FOOLS!!!!!! How can you allow this?

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!

Nigeria is a Zoo that will never progress except disintegration
How does this relate to disintegration? Nigeria's problem, in fact, blacks' problem is all about individual mentality. If not, which region in Nigeria can boast of incorruptible leaders? The issue is, the average black man is greedy and selfish, that is why no black nation can stand shoulder to shoulder with the European counterparts. Even if Nigeria disintegrates, we may not have it better than this because our mentality- the back mentality - remains the same- SELF FIRST!

After the stoning and burning who is deceiving who?
If these are the type of actions you want from us, Nigerians sorry for disappointing you for good because we are better....
Haven't heard of peaceful protest?
i would have supported you in this if you mentioned it....
Please never compare us, Nigerians with those South brothers of ours... Hope you got the message...?
Thanks and God bless.
