The love a man feels for his wife is different from the love he feels for his daughter. How can she even ask such a question?

Abi is there something the man is not telling us?

he wasn't comparing the two. He was making the point that the needs of the baby are new and superior to that of the wife and will generally supersede, rightfully, what had hitherto been considered the needs of the woman thus the feeling of sudden deprivation of what might have come to be expected as a proof of love might lead to one feeling unloved. that is what the guy was trying to say.

Alright, even so, the woman shouldn't even be complaining if that were to be the case, is she supposed to be told the baby's needs supersedes hers?

If the husband is neglecting her
because of the child, then that's not the approach to the matter at all, they should both love the kid with no drama/contest for places in the child's life or theirs.

That question is something only an insecure and jealous person would ask.

@poster, I don't blame ur wife jare. Even ur profile name has ur daughter's in it. Though I think it's normal for daddy's to get attached to their daughters while mummy's get attached to their sons. Let's wait until u have a son, u might just understand d feeling when u see her bonding with ur son. smiley

How on earth asking such a question from your husband if he love his child more than you
you gave her the correct answer. Don't tell her you love any of them more. Women are very mysterious.

Are you well at all? So a man loves his wife the same way he loves his kids? Is it now kids that keep couples together? Are you like for serious?

Sick.

Daughter of impudence, clap for your sour-mouthed self. How shameful that you couldn't convey your thoughts like a well-mannered lady I erroneously thought you were! Sickening!

Excuse me biko, no one really cares what your opinion of me is, as that's not the topic of discussion here.

And it's well mannered of you to come at me with that post of yours, give me a break.

I don't find such questions healthy.

I can never ask my man that, it will be my pleasure that he puts the kids before me, he should certainly love them more please.

Freecocoa I would have to disagree on this one. I do not think any husband should love his children more than his wife, plain and simple. Neither should he put his children before his wife. The simple answer to this question is I love you more than my daughter.

As a married man your priorities should be your wife, your children and then yourself in that order. Unfortunately as Africans we tend to put children before our spouses and that is very wrong. Our spouses MUST always come first regardless. After 18 years the child would leave the house but your wife is not going anywhere(except in the unfortunate case of a divorce).

Even the bible agrees that husbands should love their wives more than their children. Children are a gift from God and should be loved and cherished but the wife must always come first

Well, that's your belief and I don't care what the bible says btw.

That I said he should put them before me doesn't mean he should stop loving me, children's needs are above that of the parents especially in their formative years when they really can't do much for themselves, how a man loves his woman is different from how he loves his kids, the two can never compete as they are not even in the same class, so that you all think it's healthy to be in competition with one's kid is nuts to me, but by all means, carry on.
