I don't know why i had always assumed that you are a mature person on Nairaland, maybe it is because of the way you write on the Politics Section. But this insult is uncalled for, and have actually shown you for what you are, a Child.

Grown ups have intellectual discuss.

Iran is designated by the United States Dept of States as being a Sponsor Of Terror( in a lay man term TERRORIST), and your question on what does the negotiation of the release of a prisoner equates to them stopping terror? everything.

The KEY word here is "NEGOTIATION"

If a terrorist organization can be negotiated with to release a prisoner, that window of opening too can be used too for the negotiation for them to renounce their ideology. When was the last time you heard that the Talibans launched an attack anywhere in the World? there are those in the terrorist realm who are actually the indoctrinators of terror ideas, make them change their minds and the followers will fall like pack of cards.

To your question that which Countries negotiates with Terrorist. All actually.

Outside the spheres of Nairaland, we actually don't know what each of us does for a living. There are Nigerians that are Nairaland Members, hold other Nationality, work for some Western Govt agencies and are very privy to a lot of information you Barcanista will find shocking if made Public, but which to a layman might sound unbelievably incredulous.

We will leave it at that.

Believe it or not, all WESTERN COUNTRIES Negotiate with Terrorists, far away from the public eyes and i will no longer comment on this topic.

my brother, too many half baked analysts on nairaland, that's why instead of the dumbo barcanista researching or consulting experts on international relations, he is busy thinking google can supply all his answers, very dumb guy, only dullards lazy to do research will take him serious or shout that this option of negotiation is a bad one,the world is more complicated than what the ordinary eye sees, that's why I hardly comment on d politics section of nairaland, cos I will sound too complex to majority.

I live in one.

And contrary to your beliefs or what you think you know. All Western Countries engage in negotiation with terrorists, but they do it through a third party country. For exampe, all negotiations between between IRAN and the United States is handled by a THIRD PARTY country Switzerland.

PFC Bowe Bergdahl, was a US Army held captive by the Taliban. His release was negotiated by Qatar. A little schooling or reading about INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS will broaden your horizon on how DEVELOPED Government works, and not the fire approach applied by past Presidents of Nigeria.

Buhari is on the RIGHT PATH.

And the likes of you believed GEJ was wrong to have towed the same line shey? Your hypocrisy knows no bound... for a president that has showed absolutely no interest in engaging ppl he called brothers (by the way GEJ also called them our brothers and the whole Nigeria went ballistic). To be discussing negotiations now is at best a case of sabotage of our military effort... whwho would he be negotiating with? Shekau or Al Baghdadi since there has been a voluntary takeover of the Boko Haram establishment by none other than ISIS.

Abeg make una let us hear word...

When GEJ talked about negotiation PMB and his cohorts in APC were shouting how can he negotiate with terrorists, now with all the money budgeted and the logistics they claimed to have as a retired general coupled with all the travels to neighbouring countries and international communities for support they can still talk of negotiating with boko haram if they willing then i doubt the ability of mr president to crush boko haram and fulfil the long list of promises he made to Nigerians.

U don't negotiate with terrorist. Buhari the window of any negotiation is over. Meanwhile, if your aim is granting Amnesty to those bastards, you are on a looooong thing. Except the terrorists will be asked to go and sin no more after surrendering their arms but NO KOBO must be spent on them.

We can't reward terrorism....kill them all

Am with u on this one. I love buhari but, the moment he negotiates with B.H and even start talking abouut amnesty, then my love for him will fizzle out and the best option is to divide Nigeria.
Enough scam already.

Kill all boko haram, don't negotiate with them.

They want an Islamic State in the north east from where they will spread to the rest of the country. Since we want to negotiate frim our presently weak position let us prepare to grant them that wish. . plus some oil wells and other things they may ask. The blood shed has to stop.

Keep believing everything their media tells you.

The united states created some of these terrorist-groups for her own selfish interests in the middle east. And, the issue of Iran and the third-party you talked about is not how you portrayed it to be - you are simply saying Iran is a terrorist country. Whereas the main reason why there is third-party relationships between Iran and States is because, there have been no diplomatic ties between the two countries since1979.

The United States does not care about the terrorists if they serve her interests. Infact, you are a terrorist if you are against the interests of the States - that is their own definition of terrorist. The United States herself is the greatest terrorist for being the only country that has used the atomic bomb, and forcing other countries under nuclear proliferation treaty, under the pretence that it will dismantle her own nuclear weapon; till today they are still upgrading it instead of dismantling it.

One president wants to negotiate with bh and makes moves in that regard and is called weak and clueless. Another president comes on the premise of change and wants to do the same and is praised and told it's "way to go". I pity my country... We have entered one chance.

You see, the recent increase in the wave of bombing is a clear evidence that Buhari will soon grant the terrorist, Amnesty.

Buhari stands is very clear on this from the beginning!

However, I hope my fellow Nigerians would be able to see the Fruad in Buhari past statements.
