do you see my response to this thread ? this is how a yoruba man responds to news like this. this how we roll. we dont consider every yoruba to be our family. just cuz you are yoruba dont mean i count you as family. thats how we yorubas get down, and as such this type of thing does not affect anyone of us. the man who got removed when he was getting his salary did not share it with every yoruba person. we are individuals first, then yoruba next. a little lesson for you SE folks

General Chris Olukolade has been replaced as the Director of Defence Information. According to a statement from the Nigerian Army, Colonel Rabe Abubakar will take over from him in Acting capacity. Gen Olukolade became DFI in March 2013.

funny enough, the Yorubas are not wailing about the removal of their native son or asking that his replacement should be Yoruba. The difference in ethnic idealogies are different and clear for all to see.

If the comments on nairaland are a reflexion of the mentality of the average Nigeria, then i know why this country has and will continue to remain in this pathetic situation despite all your so called hypocritical prayers. Major General Olukolade was just the Defense Spokesman! He had no imput or relevance to operational decisions on the field. Yet some of you are ranting foolishly. So what if its a northener?... I want to know what impact or difference it makes. And who told you pple every appointment is sanctioned by the president. He has appointed different chiefs of staff. And all these appointments are made by them.

Leave igbos out of this. And by the way what is this position to your igbos. Igbos can always stand without all this positions by the culture of their republican nature and individualistic hustling spirit. Igbo never voted for him and more over, police and military are dominated by north/sw. The question is why he romoved a respected s/westerner to replace him with a northerner. Olukolade is a fine courageous man. I have my great respect for him though. Must it be replacing all southerner with northerner.
