For putting up this rubbish, Mr op u ar such a dumb and a jealous animal. U put this up because u feel u are better than ur neighbours children. For your information, NOUN is for the working class. Its a school for distance learning and not meant for children who should experience class teachings. Countries like the UK, USA, SA, India etc has open universities which I can enroll from here in Nig and as well get my degree cert sent to me in Nig without visiting the institution/country. You feel u are better? I advise you develop urself and stop been a hater. That's my candid advise. ....................NOUN is "work and learn".

Although apparently already headed for colossal failure, your thread would've been a little bit more reasonable if you weren't so stereotypical in it. That just affirmed its absolute invalidity.

7. NOUN student are less Employed on the field due to lack of experience

Care to state where and how this finding was made?. . . . Survey?

Lies, bullshit and nothing but bullshit! Now let me dissect the OP's point one after the other. So? Who needs NYSC in the first place. Many can argue that the programme is a complete waste of time which could be put into better use either going for a Masters, acquiring required professional experience or learning some necessary vocational training that would better aid your hustling once you are done with school. In fact, our friends that didn't partake in the so called NYSC seem to be better off than us as they had a year start over we that went for service
Then why do students of other schools cause riots at any single opportunity available to them if not for the same reason you are pointing out here. Corruption is rife in almost every educational institution in this country, I see no reason why you are singling NOUN out as if others are Saint and they (NOUN) are the inventor of sin. So 500 students cramped in one class like sardine is any better? undecided stop pointing accusing fingers if you ain't holy yourself. Same old bullshit another big fat lie! Believe me when I tell you this, no other institution in this country have students with experience than NOUN. In fact the school was created for those with experience. That's what it stands for, that's what it is. I am a graduate of one of the conventional universities and till today I am yet to collect a dime for 3 months hard labor I put in industrial Training 5 years ago. Lies! Materials are readily available in the school, dunno where you are getting this junk from.complete baloney!
Still trying to comprehend what this crap means? Come back with a better write-up once you have done a better research and you fully understand what the school stands for.

Friedplantain

Classic response bro...apparently the OP didn't do her research properly. I really do not understand her argument. One thing I'm sure of, please correct me if in wrong, NOUN never embark on strike actions...

Does it mean that it is not advisable to run a Post Graduate programme with NOUN? If the school is not that ok, why do a Federal body like NTI set to train quality teachers still affiliated to them?

Aromas:

Well let me start by quoting you wrongly on what you've see or heard about NOUN. Am a student of the gr8 institution and don't forget that this a established university during Obasanjo regime. With the current increment in school fees, I believe that no institution is left out of this in as much Nigeria education is concern. Also, about the conduct of the student, let us belief is a general problem because one or two students of NOUN are leaving a miserably life does not mean you should tag all students in NOUN. And moreover every institution has this same problem. Furthermore, on the study centers you mention, NOUN is an Open Distance Learning (ODL) which is totally different from conventional universities like OAU,AAUA,UI,NSUKA,ABU,EKSU,UNILAG etc. So there mode of operation is absolutely different Ma! That is why NOUN has study centers across the nation and mind you any NOUN center you see that looks shabby and dirty I think the director in that center must be call to order, as a patriotic Nigeria, you've the optimum right to forward a letter to them to renovate their environment. In addition, NOUN is purposely met for those already working either government work or businessman but who need a degree certificate to upgrade his or her level at work. So flush out those mischievous issues bothering your mind concerning NOUN. God bless!

What will it profit a person to read law without being called to bar. Plz call me anytime Council for Legal Education starts admitting students fron your school.

OP DO YOU THINK THAT IT EVERYBODY THAT IS SO READY TO ATTEND A COVENTIONAL SCHOOL LIKE YOU DID?DO YOU THINK THAT ATTENDING A UNIVERSITY IS ALL FOR THE PURPOSE OF LOOKING FOR JOB ?DO YOU THINK THAT THOSE WHO ATTENDED CONVENTIONAL UNIVERSITIES ARE BETTER OFF THAN THOSE WHO ATTENDED NON CONVENTIONAL SCHOOLS?IF YOU CAN ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS THEN YOU WILL DEFINITELY A RE-THINK COS EVERY VICE YOU MENTIONED IS ALSO OBTAINABLE IN YOUR SCHOOL. NOUN IS FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO CREATE JOBS AND NOT FOR THOSE WHO ARE SEARCHING.
