They have taken the fight to the centre, instead of wasting time and resources shutting stations.
Whether it is upstream, downstream, gas or laboratory sector that is found defaulting, they surely dance to the music.

So why making it seem like it's a novelty by saying

This crackdown should have a blanket effect.Along Lagos-Badagry Expressway, filling stations are unconscionably selling well over N100 per litre.I sent them a complaint last week. They are yet to respond, contrary to their documented promise of responding to emails within 2 days.

PassingShot:

Of course the filling stations have been involved in the shady deal. But you cannot solve the problems by going after the filling stations without solving it from the root, the depots who sell at higher prices to them. It easier for filling stations to sell @ even N120 if they can prove that they but at even slightly higher than govt regulated price like N80 instead of N77.

Either ways, I still think that the DPR took the esier route by shutting the depots because they didn't want another round of fuel scarcity to hit the nation.
Because, now that I think of it, if the filling stations are shut, it impacts more on the populace as they won't be able to sell even the little that they have in store.

But if they hit the depots, then they are directly dealing with the marketers, and the citizens are left out of the hulabaloo.

Olodo president. After shutting them down, there will be less places selling fuel thus driving prices up. Go school, you no gree.
And you that went to school i can see how very intelligent you are. You should know that there are other depot operators that would be happy to see those ones closed, thereby giving them control in the market. In an open market economy where there are options a clamp down on one company is advantageous to competitors. Nigeria is getting to that level.

Imagine the response of Glo, Airtel and Etisalat if MTN losses its license for just 7 days! That's the level the oil sector will get to soon.

I don't think DPR was working at 100% capacity. The body language of a leader determines what agency working with him will do. Even without saying a word. I think the body language they saw on 29/05/15 till date has had a positive effect on the DPR.

Close mindedness and illogical conclusions are not good attributes to adopt. Think across boards and give credit to those who clearly deserve it, or just maintain the golden silence if your ego dictates otherwise. That's the only way to get or maintain an iota of credibility as a critic.

Don't tell me you're not accorded some stipends for all these absurdities...cos it's debilitating.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in being strong opinionated and in fact it’s an attractive attribute BUT you need to understand the need to embed flexibility of approach when dealing with issues that have far reaching consequences.

There is a reason why team work is the number one competency that employers look for when recruiting. It’s always about the end result no matter how we get there so being rigid might be counterproductive when dealing with national issues.

The end point for us all is seeing Nigeria great again and I strongly believe any well-meaning Nigerian will support this ambition/collective goal since the benefits will be generational

PS: You do come across as someone that’s very smart but you really do need to be flexible with your approach and above all be open minded

Surely this is basic common sense

A filling station is restricted to a named brand whilst a depot could easily be supplying multi brands and thus creating a far reaching multiplier effect.

Pay more attention instead of writing epistles that lack depth all over the place

Can't believe you've sank to the point of staying negative concerning Buhari's governance despite trying to hide the ugly headed bitterness all along.

Staying bitter at this administration will lead you nowhere. Nigerians never voted "transformational change", we voted change, now we have it. The same transformation you all preached after six years of stark mediocrity.

Just so you know, clamp downs started towards the end of GEJ's administration and we all knew it was for a purpose - a re-election. So do not say it was long before. You voted tautology (transformational change), we voted change.

Madness starts with a lone smile, funny actions and soliloquising before graduating into the market. I say congratulations for being a full time wailer now. I just hope you have the strength to do so for 8 years.

Back to the topic: Next will be Lagos. I'll be reporting some gas stations along Ikorodu road shortly. Good bless this effective administration.
