Now that's a beautiful observation, I really appreciate but

The answer is still 3

3+3*3-3+3=0
(3+3)*(3-3)+3=0
(9-9)+(9-9)+3=0
0+0+3=3

If the part in bold is correct, then there are new rules about basic BODMAS I don't know.

How do you treat/group addition and subtraction before multiplication?

actually NO. i made the same mistake initially. addition and subtraction are treated equally.

so what you do is apply the left to right rule bearing in mind that thr minus is attached to the -3

so the answer is 12

coolviv:
BODMAS.... multiplication first, addition second, then subtraction last. The answer is 6.

let me help

3 + 3 * 3 - 3 + 3

3 + 9 - 3 + 3

12 - 3 + 3

9 + 3

12

can you see the sequence

3+3=6
6×3=18
18-3=15
15+3=18

Why can't we just tow that simple line?

Using bodmas the answer is 6..., bracket of division, multiplication addition and subtraction you will have 12-6 and dats 6
Re: First Bank Simple Equation That 87% Could Not Solve. by Datanet: 12:01am On Aug 11, 2015
because in bodmas. multiplication must come before addition or subtracttion.

so you must compute 3 * 3 First. thts the only thing

before doing your additions

frisky2good:
3+3=6
6×3=18
18-3=15
15+3=18

Why can't we just tow that simple line?

your sisters error is - 3 + 3 = 6
she ignored the minus sigb before the -3.

that should be - 3 + 3 = 0.

show it to her again.. she will remember the rule with minus signs

Re: First Bank Simple Equation That 87% Could Not Solve. by buggaboo: 12:19am On Aug 11, 2015
The answer is 12.
For the people saying 6, every number has either a positive (+) sign or negative (-) sign attached to it.
If you do not see a sign, then positive is implied.

Bearing that in mind,
-3 + 3 can never be -(6) even when using BODMAS.
Yes you treat addition first but you must factor in the signs of the numbers being added.

I have no words for those of you getting answers other than 12 or 6.

I got A1 in mathematics the equation is 3+3×3-3+3=

Now re- grouping

3+[3×3]-[3+3]=

3+9 - [3+3]

12 - 6

Ans is 6

The answer is 3....

B-Bracket
O-Of
D-Division
M-Multiplication
A-Addition
S-Subtraction

First of all, for an equation dat has no brackets, u introduce brackets from left to right.

3+3x3-3+3
Introduce brackets in two's
i.e (3+3) x (3-3) +3
The bracket just has two sets because d last "3" is a stand alone number, therefore there's no need for an additional bracket.
Applying BODMAS, Bracket comes first so we treat the brackets first.

i.e (6) x (0) + 3. Applying BODMAS again, Multiplication is next here
i.e (6 x 0) + 3
0 + 3= 3

Answer is 3

Nope your are wrong.
Use calculator on those figures it must give u 12 else your calculator is malfunctioning.
My maths.
3+3*3-3+3
3+9-3+3
12+0
=12.
Hope you understand.

You only put the multiplication in bracket. That's the mistake you're all making
Re: First Bank Simple Equation That 87% Could Not Solve. by timota(m): 1:02am On Aug 11, 2015
MPSA:

Corrections: -3+3 not = to -(3+3)
Let us check -(3+3)=-3-3 if you multiply the braket of 3+3 by negative.
So -3+3 must remain the same=0
in bodmas u treat addition before subtraction . The reason for the bracket is for amateur like u it means treat the one in bracket first
Re: First Bank Simple Equation That 87% Could Not Solve. by Michael33(m): 1:12am On Aug 11, 2015
The answer is A, 18.... Why?, they dnt expect u 2use any BODMAS, de only expect u to simplify from left to right. I.e 3+3*3-3+3
First add 3+3=6
Next multiply by 3, I.e 6*3=18
Then subtract 3, I.e 18-3=15
Then add 3..... 15+3=18..... Tnk yu all

ahhh. This generation is something else. sebi you all use phone and computer to post comment while those devices have calculators. Use it and see. Most of you claiming BODMAS violated its basic rules, chai (covers face). YOU ARE DISGRACING THE YOUTHS PLEASE. If you can't solve a simple arithmetic devoid of logic, i mean the answer is 12 straight at a glance, then how can we talk about catching up with the world around us via invention. May God save Nigeria's soul o.

3+3*3-3+3=x
(3+3)(3-3)+3=x
9-9+9-9+3=x
Or
(9-9)+(9-9)+3=x
0+0+3=3
Therefore
X=3

Sorry for writing 0 I wanted writing x
