I got A1 in mathematics the equation is 3+3×3-3+3=

Now re- grouping

3+[3×3]-[3+3]=

3+9 - [3+3]

12 - 6

Ans is 6

the correct ans is 6. Using BODMAS, we have
3+(3x3)-(3+3)
3+9-6
12-6
=6.

you are becoming annoying.....what is the difference between that equation and 3+3^2-3+3?? undecided
You also need to work on your mathematics, how will you say the equation equal zero undecided undecided

3+3^2-3+3=x
3+9-3+3=x
Therefore
X=12

This is not the same with the equation I posted sir.

I'm sure your younger ones can solve it correctly.

You should know that addition and subtraction ank equally in the bodmas acronym, so do multiplication and division.

-3+3 will always be zero no matter the circumstances.

Read about how BODMAS works or shut up forever

Baba how does it work?

What's the op waiting for after 16 pages on NL. The answer is 18. See how:
3+3*3-3+3
In maths, a bracket is introduced where you have the multiplication sign. So
(3+3)*3-3+3 = 6*3-3+3.
Let's introduce another bracket to have:
6*(3-3+3) =6*3 = 18.

If OP who created this thread FAILED the answer like this, it MEANS that 87% of the people probably GOT the answer and 13% failed it. That's a good percentage showing majority of Nigerians are good.
Answer is 12 my friend. Because 3+3*3-3+3 is NOT EQUAL to 3+3*3-3-3.

Sorry I have made the correction I didn't mean to write 3+3*3-3+3=0

3+3*3-3+3=x

3+(3*3)-(3+3)=3+(9)-6=12-6=6 BODMAS
Re: First Bank Simple Equation That 87% Could Not Solve. by KBrown: 11:33am On Aug 11, 2015
Hey guys, I have the correct workings now: the answer is 3. Here's how:
3+3*3-3+3
In maths, a bracket is introduced where you have the multiplication sign. So
(3+3)*(3-3)+3 = 6*0+3 = 0+3 = 3
Re: First Bank Simple Equation That 87% Could Not Solve. by lordwyze(m): 11:40am On Aug 11, 2015

3+3*3-3+3 is same as saying 3+3^2-3+3, I don't know how he brought bracket in.
People that even say the answer is 6 have more mathematical knowledge than the OP cool

Sir i didnt run away, the equation I posted is different from 3+3^2-3+3

The answer to yours is 12

3+3^2-3+3=x
3+9-3+3=x
X=12

the correct ans is 6. Using BODMAS, we have
3+(3x3)-(3+3)
3+9-6
12-6
=6.

Wrong. Very wrong.

The bracket isn't necessary...-3+3=0...

So just solve 3+3×3= 3+9=12.....

Sweerry, please review your statement.

3 + (3X3) - (3+3) is not equal to 3 + (3X3) - 3+3

3 + (3X3) - (3+3) = 3 + 9 - 6 = 6 while

3 + (3X3) - 3+3 = 3 + 9 -(3 - 3) = 3 + 9 - 0 = 12

WAEC just told us that about 39 percent of students who sat for the exams had credits in 5 subjects including English and Mathematics. Am so sure a large percentage of that figure employed the services of a machinery...

Tomorrow, they'll come here and argue with someone who's more expose, informed and intelligent, yet will refuse to take corrections.

It's really sad. I started developing interest in Mathematics at SS1. My maths teacher entered and it was too late for me to have sneaked out. I used to sneak outout grin...And I was there without any interest. And he started talking and teaching Set Theory, and the terms were so easy I didn't struggle to get them. Why was I running away from so easy a course? Bad friends!

That day changed my life. I interest soared. I had to change my friends and started moving with the maths gurus in the class. The first day in SS2, our maths teacher gave us assignments on the same set theory and got 4 out of 4. That was all.

The point is, my new zeal redirected me back to the basics. While in SS2, I had to get JSS1-3 maths textbooks and literally ate them.

People don't pay adequate attention to BASICS.

Ordinarily, I didn't even acknowledge the right side of the equation as it's obviously zero.

BODMAS was simply deployed for the LHS and 12 remains the ONLY correct answer.
