sorry guy, you don't know how to use BODMAS, It's (3)+(3*3) -3 +3, minus 3 cancels +3 => 3+9 = 12

Wrong! The answer is 12.

The answer is purely 6. Nothing like 12

If you still don't agree that the answer is 6, you should be ban from Nairaland until you go back to school to learn arithmetic again.

Iwo gangan ni olodo rabata

I'm sure your younger ones can solve it correctly.

You should know that addition and subtraction ank equally in the bodmas acronym, so do multiplication and division.

-3+3 will always be zero no matter the circumstances.

Read about how BODMAS works or shut up forever

I got A1 in mathematics the equation is 3+3×3-3+3=

Now re- grouping

3+[3×3]-[3+3]=

3+9 - [3+3]

12 - 6

Ans is 6

Bros, you need to return your Certificate to WAEC immediately.

Who asked you to put brackets?

-3+3 will always be zero, no matter the circumstances. This is one of the fundamental rules in arithmetics

Bodmas is actually
B
O
DM
AS

Divison and multiplication are on the same level. Subtraction and addition also rank equally.

Please which school did you graduate from?

If OP who created this thread FAILED the answer like this, it MEANS that 87% of the people probably GOT the answer and 13% failed it. That's a good percentage showing majority of Nigerians are good.
Answer is 12 my friend. Because 3+3*3-3+3 is NOT EQUAL to 3+3*3-3-3.

I saw the below equation on First Bank BBM channel and what i saw with great dismay was the poor answers people were writing. Seriously our arithmetical knowledge needs to be awaken because i can't see a nation developing with poor analytical skills especially with simple equation.

So Nairaland members lets see those with good knowledge of arithmetic and those who will embarrass their parents.

What's the op waiting for after 16 pages on NL. The answer is 18. See how:
3+3*3-3+3
In maths, a bracket is introduced where you have the multiplication sign. So
(3+3)*3-3+3 = 6*3-3+3.
Let's introduce another bracket to have:
6*(3-3+3) =6*3 = 18.

Ok, I concord.
-3+3=0
So left with 3+3*3 working with brackets, will be 3+(3*3) which gives 12.
Sorry for quoting you wrong earlier.

This is clearly solved using BODMAS.
For those introducing brackets, ensure it is done correctly such that when you expand d brackets, you arrive at the initial equation.
3 + 3 x 3 - 3 + 3 is the same as:
3 + (3 x 3) - (3 -3) = 12
Even by the time the whole brackets are removed and you are left with plus and minus, just collecting like terms I.e. moving all plus to one side followed by minus will still give you 12 as answer! QED

It's required in education that once you meet a superior argument, you politely withdraw and get back to the basics.

How could a people be so wrong and yet so adamant?

How could someone who claimed to score an A1 in Mathematics even struggle to solve what's clearly a JSS3 1 maths problem?

We're in trouble.

I wonder oooooooooooo.

I am sure New general Mathematics for Jss1 treats issues like this. I am not so sure they went to school after all. BODMAS or no BODMAS, how on earth could someone think -3+3 will be equal to 6 or -6. It beats my imagination.

The answer is 12 period. Start by multiplying 3x3=9 plus another 3+3=6 (15) then minus 3 from the 15 it will give you 12.

3+3*3-3+3 is same as saying 3+3^2-3+3, I don't know how he brought bracket in.

3+3*3-3+3=12. why is it 12? now we introduce BODMAS and can only get the answer if we use it how it should be used.let's start now
B for bracket( )
O for of
D for division
M for multiplication
A for addition
S for subtraction.
from d equation we are concerned about> MAS
I.e we do d multiplication first so we have
3+9-3+3 which is 12-0 coz -3+3=0. so d answer is 12. for better understanding u can even rearrange before u subtract I.e 3+9+3-3.
