buhari shld forget about that bridge, because that 2nd niger bridge is a pet project for PDP, buhari shld focus on his campaign promise which is security, fight against corruption and job creation. He shld leave the bridge for pdp, so that they can use it to campaign by 2019 to south east people.

Baba never promise to build 2nd NB during his campaign

He should just go ahead and compensate the people, he doesn't have to stop the project. besides, they didn't say the people were not compensated, I heard not adequately compensated. Talking about integrity and quality of the bridge, for crying out loud this is a project that Julius Berger is not only executing but, also investing heavily in so who is deceiving who ? People can now see why most SE people wanted GEJ to continue instead of PMB.

It is very obvious most guys did not read the entire report before jumping to nail PMB to the crosss, it also shows how we confuse ourselves in this nation, if the said project was in the north or the west, most of the guys crucifying PMB here will be praising and asking him to even probe further, but am surprised that they are not even saying that the Niger bridge contract itself should be probed to see if any corruption took place.

The same people were up in arms when the Falomo complex sandal broke out but as soon as Elumelu's name was mentioned, they changed their tongue asking Ambode to protect the business of their son instead of persecuting him but we all saw how they nailed Fashola to the cross over the contracts he awarded.

Something is very wrong with us as a people!
stop chatting rubbish..the falomo issue is btw ambode and fashola..that elumelu is involved is just coincidence...how come ambode gave the public the wrong info with regards to the 50m expression of interest issue which he termed amt payed for 50yrs

I don't understand why there is so much cry concerning this news. Is the work currently going on the bridge? No. The project is not cancelled but put on hold to know the real cost under this administration not the inflated cost under Jona. After all, it was going to be PPP going by the Jonas arrangement.

Wikipedia says the highest congregation of idiots are found on Nairaland. You can't help them. Sometimes you just have to read and pass.

One cannot forget the way you all rejected the APC with so much glee just months ago. When people said the SE plays horrible politics, you misconstrued it as hatred.

Not everyone is happy with what is happening to the SE, but no one can say you were not cautioned either.

Regardless, the suspension should be taken for what it is, afterall GEJ was to pay only 30% of the cost and toll the SE for the rest.

Don't worry about us......Chukwu abiama o....we are from Israel.... cheesy

I am ibo and from Nnewi.
I am ashamed of my ibo people.
Nigerians should forgive us for our stupidity
We are just sorry because we are jealous of Yorubas
We wish we had an origin, history and culture like them.
We must be less cowardly and brave like Yorubas who plan better.
I say no to Biafra and I know we need Nigeria more than you need us.
Please just allow us to be shouting Biafra of the Internet because we are jobless.
Nairaland is all we have and even that is owned by a Yoruba man who is nice.
We must stop Okija, ritual killings, Osu issue, fraud, fake spare-parts etc
We know without you we cannot survive that is why we run to your land
Our shame and hopelessness in the face of your superiority is terrible.
Even Ijaws are now our bosses and we have been reduced to goats.

Chukwu Abiama o....... Biafra...land of the rising sun..... IPOB youth.... cheesy

Anambra refinery is functional as we speak so whats the nonsense you are talking about? Ondo is the least oil producing state in Nigeria... The oil producing part of ondo is ijaw boundary where Kingsley Kuku comes from. As a matter of fact, they are not happy with being part of ondo state.

he didn't promise to build SNB yes, but the federal government is already building it so he doesn't have to stop it. Must we go back to the era of abandoned project? Buhari has moved from monopolisation of Federal appointment by Northerners and non appointment of Easterners to stoppping on going project in the East and giving filmsy excuses.

We long saw this coming. It is astonishing how predictable the cow herder actually is. No wonder the people of the East, were so adamantly against his presidency. They know Buhari as a tribalist mascurading behind the Arab religion called Islam.

Where are the one Nigeria crew to check Buhari excesses?

When IPOB starts, please forever hold your peace. They are acting well within their right, as there are limits to human endurance.
where is that Mbaka that said Buharidullardinho is a mesaih?
Buhari is anti-Igbos right from birth.
unrepentant wicked man.
shame on Okorocha who spent Imo state fund supporting Buharidullardinho during his election campaign.

Ogbonnaya Onu the Igbo saboteur they always put on the front desk together with themselves during their evil machinations (campaign) to deceive the gullible on equality is no where to be found. It seem they locked him out from presidential villa since the inauguration of this administration.

Even Chris Ngige has lost his voice too.

If I had it in mind to execute a task, and people around me start threatening me that I MUST execute it, my natural reaction would typically be to dare the people. I hate being told what to do and I even hate it more when I am threatened.

I strongly believe the 2nd Niger bridge would be built and commissioned before the end of 2017; so these senseless Igbo wailers should just shut-up for once and stop provoking this abokii...

I carefully read the entire report and you could see the struggle to find reasons to justify their wicked action. Talking about payment of compensation, the truth is that beneficiaries will always clamour for more. The GEJ govt paid out #1.5 billion in compensation alone and this was widely reported. Therefore mentioning compensation in this report was a huge joke.
http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/weekly/index.php/new-news/17480-second-niger-bridge-displaced-communities-insist-on-resettlement

Buhari and his goon should understand that stoppage of work on that bridge amounts to an open declaration of war on Nigerians from that part of country. Shame on all the idiots who voted for APC from that part of the country. We told them that the idiot they were about to vote in as president was not only an illiterate but was too tribalistic and vindictive to president but they didn't listen

Tell me how a country can make progress if every new leader spends most of his tenure undoing what his predecessor did? No wonder your country remains stagnated more than 5 decades after independence

This is just unbelievable!
