Issoufou Mahamadou @IssoufouMhm

My brother and friend, @MBuhari, did me the honor to call an Abuja express way "Mahamadou Issoufou expressway". This testifies, beyond our personal relations, to the excellent relations that exist between #Nigeria and #Niger. His caring touches me. I thank him very much.

Nigeria and Niger have been collaborating in the fight against Boko Haram and both countries' armed forces are members of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF).

What's going on in Nigeria? Why is this man behaving as if Nigeria is his personal property. Those who voted this evil( especially those in the south) should be ashamed of themselves.
How can one man do all these and everyone Carry on as if nothing is happening.

Buhari and Niger Republic ehen! How can a president be violating the sovereignty of a nation with utter impunity while the citizens look on helplessly? Niger Republic that dealth ruthlessly with the same BH terrorists which Nigeria was treating with kids gloves?

Same Niger Republic the Maj.Gen.Buhari who then as military HOS rather choose to vote its citizen instead of his Igbo countryman as OAU secretary despite persuasion thereby becoming the first president to openly violates the sovereignty of his own nation?

Same Niger Republic whose home country sent in a delegation of 2 provincial governors and other hoardes of entourage that illegally crossed Nigeria international boundary without scrutiny by customs, immigration etc into Kano in 2018 to illegally partake in Buhari 2018 presidential campaign rally?

Same Niger Republic that president Buhari government can promptly approve and make budgetary provision for the standard gauge Kano-Kastina-Maradi(Niger Republic) northern railway corridor project but busy building the substandard narrow gauge variant for the SE? Of what economic importance is Niger Republic to Nigeria?

My brother how has this helped with the irresponsible leadership the Buhari government has bequeathed upon this nation today? Winning the highest national honours of a nation that is dealing ruthless with terrorists and you're granting them amnesty while they are still decimating both our military & populace? What a monumental shame for a nation.

naptu2: In the 1990s Osama Bin Ladin operated out of Sudan until the US and its allies made it very difficult for him to do that. He moved to Afghanistan.

The US and its allies have made it difficult for islamic extremists to operate out of the middle east and south asia. The extremist are now making western africa (Algeria - Cameroun) their new headquarters. There are certain conditions in this area that make it ideal for them.

1) Ethnic, political and religious division: These divisions make it very easy for the militants to operate, while the various groups blame each other (eg in Nigeria, North vs South, East vs West, Christian vs Muslim, Buhari vs Gej, etc). This was the same situation in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, until the "tribes" realised that the islamic extremists are worse than their opposing tribe and also worse than the US. I pray it doesn't take us too long to figure this out. Boko Haram, if given the chance, will happily kill the sultan, buhari, GEJ, Babangida and Oritsejafor.

2) Corruption: Throw 50 naira or a hundred naira to a policeman and he would happily allow a bomb laden vehicle pass through a check point without inspecting it. Nuff said.

3) Poverty and disillusionment: It's easy for the groups to project themselves as heroes fighting against government, the US, etc. Until the people get to have a feel of the ideology/philosophy of the militants. By then it's too late.

4) Lack of technological sophistication and intellectual capacity to confront the militants.

The solution is unity. We need to unite to confront them. That's why I believe that we need to reactivate Ecomog.

It teatify to the fact that Buhari himself and his many co-travellers are not true Nigerians. Henry Okar saw this before now.

Buhari doing the final burial and gradually annexing Nigeria into Niger Republic under the fulani control.

If any war breaks out Nigeria today Nigeriens will come in en-mass to fight in defense of Fulanis in Nigeria. This is the alliance Buhari is soliciting from Niger Republic.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, we need to be wary of wrong diagnosis. If a man has typhoid and you administer malaria treatment on him, he could die before you know what's going on.

Boko Haram has splintered into many factions. You have the political element (thugs used by politicians to carry out their dirty deeds), you have the common criminals, you have the Yusuf faction and you have the Al-Qaeda faction.

To be fair, Shehu Sanni may mean well, but his claims are exaggerated. He may be in touch with one faction, but it is certainly not the Al-Qaeda faction, which is the most dangerous faction.

The Al-Qaeda faction is not interested in negotiation. They did not spring up because of President Jonathan, neither are they interested in petty politics. They have just one aim, which is to spread their brand of Islam across Nigeria.

Let me make this clear, they are not just interested in taking over Northern Nigeria, they want to take over the whole country and then spread across West Africa and they will kill anyone who opposes them, including Buhari, the Sultan, Babangida or whoever.

The sooner we put aside our differences and realise that Boko Haram is a threat to all Nigerians, the better for us.

We need to reactivate Ecomog and incorporate Cameroun into the group. We need to have troops in Niger, Chad and northern Cameroun, to prevent those places being used as safe havens by Al-Qaeda affiliated groups. The NIA must be more active. Why haven't they arrested the former Mauritanian president that is backing Boko Haram? We need NIA agents across West Africa to monitor and deal with Boko Haram sympathisers.

If we keep going on about our domestic problems and are not united in confronting this problem, then we might just be administering quinine to a typhoid patient and you know what the result will be.

Paschal007:
ABUJA – Barely 24-hours after President Goodluck Jonathan inaugurated the Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges in the North, an Abuja based legal practitioner, Mr. Silas Onu, Thursday, approached the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, asking it to abort plans by the Federal Government to grant amnesty to the Boko Haram Islamic sect.

Besides, Onu, who maintained that granting amnesty to the sect would entrench a very dangerous precedent in the national polity, also prayed the court to issue a consequential order halting the continuation of amnesty programme across the country.

He urged the high court to go ahead and halt further payments to ex-militants in the oil rich Niger Delta region were President Jonathan hails from.

It will be recalled that the federal government had in June 2009 approved an offer of unconditional amnesty for members of the Niger Delta militants.

The government, on Wednesday, inaugurated a 27-man committee with a mandate to fashion out modalities with a view to getting insurgent groups in the Northern part of the country to embrace amnesty.

Meantime, in an originating summons he filed before the high court yesterday, Onu, contended that the office of the President has no constitutional powers to grant amnesty to “any group of persons or individuals who have not been charged with or convicted of any criminal offence created by an act of the Senate and House of Representatives” by virtue of section 1 and 175 of the 1999 constitution.

Those joined as defendants in the suit include, President Jonathan, the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, House of Representatives, and the Attorney General of the Federation.

The plaintiff, among other things, urged the court to determine whether the President has the powers to set up an amnesty project and expend tax payers’ monies for the running and maintaining of the beneficiaries.

He further wants the court to determine whether the Senate and House of Representatives “who have not enacted any laws in accordance to sections 11 (1) and 3(3) of the 1999 constitution can appropriate funds or accommodate or permit howsoever the use of public funds for the running of any amnesty programme, or maintenance of any group of persons or individuals who have been granted amnesty by the President.”

TempleChinedum:
KANO (AFP) – The leader of  the radical Islamist group Boko Haram has rejected the idea of any potential amnesty deal, which the country’s presidency said it would study in a bid to curb a bloody insurgency, in a statement obtained by AFP Thursday.

Abubakar Shekau, the purported head of Boko Haram who has been designated a global terrorist by the United States, claimed his group had “not committed any wrong to deserve amnesty.”

“Surprisingly, the Nigerian government is talking about granting us amnesty. What wrong have we done? On the contrary, it is we that should grant you pardon,” he said, listing what he described as the state’s “atrocities” against Muslims.

The Hausa language audio recording was distributed by email in a manner consistent with previous Boko Haram messages, and the voice was similar to that of previous Shekau statements.

President Goodluck Jonathan last week formed a panel to look at the possibility of offering an amnesty deal to the Islamists, whose insurgency has left more than 3,000 people dead since 2009, including killings by the security services.

Jonathan has come under intense pressure over the issue, with politicians from the country’s violence-torn north as well as Nigeria’s highest Muslim spiritual figure, the Sultan of Sokoto, calling for amnesty.

The panel, reportedly to be composed of national security officials, northern leaders and others, is due to report later this month.

The move has been widely debated in Nigerian media in recent days.

Boko Haram has claimed to be fighting for an Islamic state in Africa’s most populous nation and largest oil producer.

The group also claimed the February 19 kidnapping of a French family of seven over the border in Cameroon. Their whereabouts remain unknown.

Boko Haram’s demands however have repeatedly shifted and the group is believed to include various factions in addition to imitators.

Nigeria offered an amnesty to militants in the southern oil-producing Niger Delta region in 2009, which has been credited with greatly reducing unrest there, though oil theft has since flourished.

Violence blamed on Boko Haram has been concentrated in the mostly Muslim north.

Christian and Muslim civilians, the security services and other symbols of authority have been among the group’s victims.

Many problems of buhari
1. He lacks vision as a national leader but he has clear vision as fulani leader and sharia advocate
2. He is demented. He could not play the deceptive game cleverly
3. He is not properly educated and he has not improved himself since he left office as president in 1985. You must be properly educated, sharp, clever, focus and intelligent to rule diverse and corrupt nation like Nigeria.
4. He is confused because of hailers. They are not telling the truth.

Buhari love Nigeriens more than Southerners. That's a true fact. He wouldn't mind adding Nigeriens in our National Budget. His patriotism lies with Nigeriens that's why he can't fight against terrorism in Nigeria because even if all Nigerians should die, it doesn't border him. His ancestry is in Niger.
