hi, if your visa is about to expire and you apply for post study visa the visa can be extended in australia right? d

If your visa is about to expire and you apply for post-study visa, you would be given a bridging visa as soon as you lodge. The bridging visa would take effect as soon as your student visa expires pending the time your post-study visa would be granted.

It depends on your previous visa as your bridging visa will have same conditions as your subsequent visa...

Thanks Boss for your contributions. If for Student Visa for instance, you mean the bridging Visa will carry same work conditions until the applicant is granted a post Study Work Visa right?

If your aim is PR through the study route then your least duration for study should be 2years, this will aid your post study visa or PR.

Good news for prospective Nurses in the house. The English requirement has been lowered a bit. It will take effect from July 1,2015. You only need to meet minimum overall score of 7 (IELTS ACADEMICS) and at least minimum score of 6.5 in each band.

Thanks for your response. I will focus on preparing for IELTS. I actually had 7 at least in all bands but it's more than two years so I need to write another one. I studied in a regional area as well so I have more points. I'm quite scared to go for pr just in case it's refused so I intend going the post study route which will give me two more years and more points for pr

Hi @all
I know a number of people on this thread have gone to Australia through MSc programs, please how long did it take you guys to get your offer after putting in your application?

I put in a number of applications for Masters Programs and I'm hoping to get an offer from any of them. The earliest application was submitted about a month ago but I haven't heard anything from the school.

@Bosslady, thank God for bringing you back albeit in a new form lols. It's such a shame, the whole saga.
Welcome back

NB: I'm applying for Feb/March 2016
Thanks

There are limited "free" learning resource for PTE on the Internet, but I just decided to go for the exam over IELTS. I only watched the video tutorials on their website several times to help me master the test platform "which I believe helped me greatly" as I basically knew what I was going there to do and in what orders the tests comes since its fully computer based. You asked about techniques? I would say it is advisable that you've masterd the computer keyboard as every sections are automated, what that means? You're timed for each sections and once the time reaches limit the current section automatically submits itself and navigate to the next one even if all you've typed is "A", and you can't go back to review previous page coz its been submitted already. The first advise for anyone taking PTE is to be confident with the computer keyboard - be a swift typer otherwise you'll burn out time even if you could have written outstanding essay using a paper and pen. The exam itself is not difficult and you receive alert for your test result directly to your email. I had the test on Friday, got email alert that my result was ready on saturday morning how awesome.

Best of luck
