FarmTech:
@Op pls read this new posting rule: htunrelated nairaland.com/2526388/warning-front-page-hijacking-no. Front page hijacking not allowed.
You have been doing a great job at seeing that no one hijack front page which I must commend.
I have many threads on different topics ranging from cassava to plantain to agric marketing to agribusiness tips e.t.c which I love to update with information daily from my recent farm experience and sharing solutions to challenges being faced by farmers.
My schedule is such that I have to go to farm and attend to various farm work early in the morning and come back late in the night.
Due to my schedule,I always like to update all my threads with information early in the morning and also do that late in the night when I am back

Since the rule was made, I have determined not to advertise but share information specific to each thread, not copying and pasting and if you check all my post, its what I have been doing except if you don't want me to post anymore.

I will not want you to see it as hijacking the front page except if I post unrelated messages and probably if I advertise on the threads.
Thanks for understanding and for making sure no irrelevant information and advert reach the agric section frontpage

Thanks for

Farming Tips For Bigger Size Watermelon.

Maintain spacing of 2m*2m.
Spray insecticides every 2weeks.
If you are planting during September or early february add GNLD.

If you are not ready to devote more of your time, watermelon is not for you....you can ask soloxam,he will tell you that.[/quote]

Bros well done, I plan on starting watermelon farming this month and possibly with maize, is it possible? I need your help and advice.
thanks in advance.

Selling your farm produce might be one of the challenging activities to do.
Considering you have already cultivated your crop with no market research and you will sell in 1months time at a profitable price, how do you that?
I have been faced with similar situation
This is what I did.
Most time, the best thing to do is to quickly get in touch with the local farmers cultivating that particular crop
Learn where they sell the produce?who comes to buy them and at what price do they buy, what are the reasons they buy at that price?
Selling agric produce is all about having lots of recent information about the recent market situation of your crop.
Getting all this information will give you direction on how to sell your market
Good luck.

From my experience, selling sometimes can be a bit challenging especially if after you have done all what you are suppose to do but with no luck.
My advice for every farmer is to network with professionals that have market link of what they produce.
I have help numerous people on this platform access buyers which they would have not even have access to if not for proper network.
Koolsamie, taiwo.sunonu, raphaeladex, are some of the nairalanders i can remember that have benefited.

Bro pls can i get ur digits? Need to call u and or chat u up ...thanks in advance

OLAMIMO12:

l sold to retailers(market men and women). minimum of 50 pieces at once.
FACT: Dont take the produce to the market women. Just carry it from farm to your OWN store. Go out and call them. They will follow you. The strategy works for ever and pays a lot. l leartn this in a bitter way........but finally solved the whole problem.
