Hello friends a brief summary of my experience in the UK so far..Took off from Lagos on the 22nd of this month with KLM 9;35pm flight, got begged and hassled for money by virtually every staff working there (gave immigration pple only1k because the man was kinda elderly and he politely asked me to find him something). The flight had a stop over at Amsterdam for about 3hours before we got into another flight at amsterdam's airport to Bristol intl airport, this time a 50mins flight...lest i forget, what amazed me was the kind of continuous food they kept bombarding us on the first plane.I ate almost everything grin grin except for the chocolate cake that was too sugary. When i got to Bristol, first thing i noticed was virtually 75% of the people here were smoking..I eventually got to my uncles', dropped my bags and headed straight to the school after taking a warm shower...did some registration in school, picked my BRP then stayed around school to attend the Nigerian student network meeting where i met with so many omo 9jas cheesy cheesy..so far so good, its been great here except for the cold that's already getting to me and people keep saying the cold hasn't started

grin COLD! grin
This is SUMMER! shocked shocked

Seriously get to a local market (ask where it is) and pick up a good warm coat. High street shops will be expensive.
Out of town shopping areas often have good discount shops. (Again ask where they are.)
Do not look for high fashion just pick the warmest. grin

Yes
Some of the shops can be good value. For example I think Matalan have good value clothes.
There are other shops that are very overpriced, so people must make their own judgement.
If you can find a local market then there are often cheap sellers but it pays to check the quality being offered. Some are selling good items cheap, while others are selling cheap junk!

I think they always take advantage of their location to inflate the price knowing fully well that sometimes people will reluctant to take the extra mile to town center to shop

In many town centers the main shopping area is becoming a "shopping mall" all under cover bright and clean but with very high rents.
I find many of these shops have inflated prices to cover their overheads.
As usual it pays to shop around and take time to compare prices and quality.
In most towns there will be a market with smaller stalls that can offer bargains, but check the quality of goods being sold.

This is why I preferred online shopping, shops anywhere around the world though timely delivery sometimes is a problem

Hello. @Justwise I salute you. For blessed is he that giveth(you) than he that recieveth(me/we) the in information of the wise. I didn't write it oh. It's in the bible folks. I only fashioned it. Anyways blessed saints I hail your spirits for guiding your hands to this forum for information just as it has guided mine. To God be the Glory. To my Point*

I got introduced to this media disseminated podium 1st when I was awaiting my NYSC posting tensioned perpetrated vehicle somewhere around this season last year(hmm a lot has happened indeed) when I came across an article stating the pandemonium at the NYSC camp at Ebonyi where they decamped 5corp members.. It was interesting as I kept on bulldozing my spirit with cheerful savoury joy at the explanation of various Corpers serving in different branches at homages. To cut my long story to come short, in less than 3weeks I received my call up letter and my destination was EB.
To tell you as of a fact I conquered and Prevailed as it was one of the most significant times in my Journey so far. I am rounding up my nations call and I would like to invest more time like the ostrich that buries it's head in the sand in times of danger in my books only that the difference here wouldn't be only my head but my whole body, I want to bury my whole vessel in an MSc course in Public Relations at the Uk as soon as possible for I have an urgent work to be done and my time to practice is little. Now my dear saints you are invited. I have gone through the complete uni table site and the only options for my proposed courses' entry date is January 2016 as I'll be offloading my nation's call by October(trying to be a patriotic servant that sees the end of his master's call). I am not sure if am left with two options as per institutions, 1. University of South Wales and Leeds Beckett which are not of good ranking and prestige as I believe in whatever should be done at all, should be done well (If I should pay UK's fees I should have a flawless educational inhale). Can my fellow saints advice me on what to do as to my dear downgraded faculties OR better still can my fellow saints persuade me on a better option, within or without my humorous/vicious choice.. If non... Finally can my fellow saints share more light as to my plea?
Thank you.
(Please note this candidate is a jolly fellow who has no worries for he trusts in God. This is the first group of saints he is following since he joined nairaland.... Peace be unto you all)

I dont think you can resume after the latest enrolment date, i think one would have to defer or maybe you can talk to the university personally about it. BY Gods Grace, your decision will be in by monday and you would not need to defer.
