Thanks. I congratulate the NFF VP for this timely clarification. If he had not come out this early. The face the half truth and attention the media gave this whole matter would have caused a lot of damages to all the parties involved.
Am also waiting for orkpekyandega, who was almost taking it so personal with Icon4s, as far as this matter is concerned to lay it to restgringrin

Abeg, when last did Success get a goal for Granada? I know he's been blank the past 3 games. Meanwhile, anyone who rates Bulbwa ahead of Iheanacho does not merit the title of 'experienced football expert', just had to get that out
Take a look at the strikers Oliseh invited for the Tanzanian game.

Forwards: Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow, Russia); Emem Eduok (Esperance ST, Tunisia); Emmanuel Emenike (Al Ain, UAE); Anthony Ujah (Werder Bremen, Germany); Sylvester Igboun (FC UFA, Russia); Moses Simon (KAA Gent, Belgium).

Musa has 5goals in Russia
Igboun has 2goals in Russia
Emem has 7goals in lowly Tunisia
Emenike has 1 goal in woeful UAE
Moses has 0 goals in Belgium
Ujah has 2 goals in Germany

These are the forwards according to official list released by Oliseh.

So based on this, does anyone believe that Success who has one goal in Spain does not deserve a call? Note that according to UEFA, a goal in Spain equals 2 goals in Russia and Belgium, maybe 5 in Tunisia, maybe 10 in UAE.

Success is being treated unfairly.

Hahahahahahahaha..................... But in a small way, I agree. Nacho would hv brought 1 or 2 goals with him. One goal can make a difference (had Man city gone into the break 1-0 up, they might not have lost. KDB scored and indirectly assisted Dier's goal but take nothing from him.......... He's a fine player. I even term him "Kevin De Brains". *smiles*).

I think the controversial Kane goal killed off man city's resolve. Great result for Tottenham. Mancity gotta pick themselves up quickly. They're gonna lose their lead this weekend but I see them climbing back to top spot in the long run. They still have what it takes to be Epl Champs again.

And hey! Patrick Roberts got his debut today. Wonder why my coach will give me a debut in the 85th minute in a match where we find ourselves 4-1 down?? *smiles* #justsaying hahahahahahaha......... Never mind, I'll still take the chance. Who knows? I might do a "LEWAN-GOALS-KI" *bigSmiles*

We are not too far apart in this matter although i based my argument on his minutes played. I am knocking on wood when i say this but the boy so far has been a guaranteed starter for a top flight Spanish team in a league that hosts the champions league winners. When he played Real he gave them problems. People think he didn't play at all last year but that is wrong he was on the B team and he score a few goals. He has also proved in the last U-20 world cup that he can come off the bench no problem. The NFF and Oliseh have no excuses on Success because he's been physically ready since 2013.
I don't agree that any of Success, Awoniyi or Iheanacho would not want to sit on the bench and so don't invite them. I say no one likes to sit on the bench so if that is the case they should only invite 11 players. I wonder if people think Amunike was just smiling and dancing while he was on the bench all through Tunisia 94 but the rest is folklaw history when he got his chance his quality showed.

REVEALED: Iheanacho's agent slammed for sexual molestation

It can be revealed that the American agent of Manchester City starlet Kelechi Iheanacho served a year’s probation after he pleaded to corruption of two teenage girls.
Robert Zanicky, better known as “Bob” in Nigerian football circles, entered a plea agreement when he was charged with trying to force two young girls for sex.
The agent, who now runs Opportunity Academy for West Africa (OFAWA), was not to have any unsupervised contacts with minors during his probation.
He also had to undergo a mental health evaluation and a drug evaluation as part of his sentencing.
'Bob' won a fiercely heated chase for Iheanacho just months before the youngster was crowned the MVP of the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup in the UAE.
Both the agent’s victims testified at a preliminary hearing that he sent them sexually explicit test messages, bought them things and took them to the Wilkes-Barre Lodge on Kidder Street four years ago.
The victim, who was 17, testified then that she had consensual sex with Zanicky at the Wilkes-Barre Lodge.
The other victim, who was 16, said Zanicky drove her to the same motel, where he wanted to "talk" about his wife being diagnosed with cancer.
When they went into the room, she said he kissed her and talked about all the things he wanted to do to her, such as pull her hair and throw her against the wall. She said she ran out of the room to the car and asked him to take her to her friend's house.

Ajayi is the leading scorer of the NigeriaU23 squad who won Bronze medal at the recent 11th All Africa Games football event in Congo Brazzaville.
He was initially a target for another Tunisian club, Esperance.

Peter Olayinka sets 20-goal target in Albania

Peter Olayinka (left)
Nigerian youngster Peter Olayinka has set a 20-goal personal target at Albanian club Skenderbeu Korce after he scored his third goal of the season in four games in a 4-1 win over hosts Bylis Ballsh.
Olayinka was the architect of the demolition of his first club in Albania and he told AfricanFootball.com he now wishes to score more goals this season.
"I am happy with my goal and my contribution to the game. I felt so sorry for my former team Bylis Ballsh because that was where everything started in Albania but I am happy we won the game,” he said.
"My target is to score 20 goals this season.
“I scored 10 last season, six in the league and four in the Cup."
The 20-year-old said he also wishes to be called up coach Samson Siasia for the Nigeria U23s.
"I am looking forward to representing my country and will be glad if coach Samson Siasia gave me a chance with the U23 it will be a dream come true," he said.

Nigeria: Iheanacho Will Get S'eagles Chance - Garba

By Augustine Akhilomen
Former Flying Eagles coach, Manu Garba, has asked Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho and Granada's Isaac Success not to lose hope of playing for the Super Eagles on the premise they will be invited by Coach Sunday Oliseh when the time is right.
Iheanacho
Despite their impressive performance for their respective clubs this season, they were not invited for the team's upcoming double international friendly matches against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and the Leopards of Demcratic Republic of Congo.
Even though invitation has been forward to Arsenal's Alex Iwobi, Garba believes that every player would be giving a chance to prove his worth and that Iheanacho and Success won't be an exemption.
"We have to support Oliseh and be calm with him if we want the best for the Super Eagles, Iheanacho and Success will get their chances when the coach feels he needs them but for now we have to support those he has invited," he said.
"They have the quality to be in the team but not all players can play at the same time, they will get their chances all they need to do is to keep on doing well for their respective clubs and the rest will follow suit."

Guilty conscience is disturbing Manu Garba, if you notice, Coach Manu Garba and Nduka Ugbade have not given us any reasonable excuse as to why he failed in Newzealand.

Na wa o! Una still dey trash out this matter? Ok suit una selves........... Anyway I just wanna make a small correction.

Ighalo, like Success, was snapped up by Udinese of italy, not malaga, and loaned to Granada before being sold to Watford. Coincidentally, these three clubs(Udinese, Granada and Watford) are owned by one family *cant recall their name now but I think it's an Italian family dynasty*

That's the main reason for the interchange of players among the 3 sides. *smiles*

look u can say what you want about Ugbade but Manu Garba has never made a negative comment about Success or Iheanacho. He was the first to say they could play with the national team, he even said Nacho could play at any club in the world. Manu is a coach who likes to have time with his players he even let the world know Iheanacho could be on the bench on his team and nobody saw it fit to meet Manu in a corner and say "oga take time o" so when he goes to New Zealand and does exactly what he already predicted could happen why blame him? Your blame should be forwarded to the NFF. How hard did they try to release a youth player without a work permit? how hard can that be? A simple promise of a National team call up and Iheanacho could have been in Nigeria all last season.

Ajayi Promises More After Debut Sfaxien Goal

By Johnny Edward:
U-23 Eagles forward Junior‎ Ajayi is delighted to have scored on his debut for top Tunisian club CS Sfaxien in Sunday's 3-1 win over EGS Gafsa.
The Nigerian youth international was handed a starting role from the left wing after impressing coach Paul Duarte in training, and he repaid his coach's faith by scoring after 34 minutes.
An excited Ajayi told Comple tesportsnigeria.com that he hopes to build on his debut performance.
"The goal brings confidence to me and I'm happy with it. All I need to do is to work hard and continue scoring which is what I love doing," Ajayi told Comple tesportsnigeria.com.
"It wasn't easy because we conceded too early in the game but we showed good reaction to the goal and were courageous enough to win and maintain our leadership on the log."
When quizzed on his targets with CS Sfaxien this season, the former 3SC star added: "I want to keep scoring and hopeful land the Tunisian title."
Ajayi will be hoping to‎ build on his debut goal when his team faces Stade Tunisien away next Saturday.

My point is very simple. We were down 1-0 to Germany. The time is running out. Ten minutes to go and if we do not score we are out of the tournament.

How hard is it for Manu Garba to know that he should throw in an attacker on the bench with immense abilities. Maybe the best talent in the whole competition to try and get him a goal.

Manu Garba decided not to make that change. He made only two substitution with a star studded bench.

That is my problem and many who are angry with Nacho.

Don't let Manu Garba remind me of a forgotten past.

Germany and New Zealand the same weather. (Manu Garba and his crew camped our boys in a summer weather to play in a winter weather tournament. Then he played boys that have never trained in a winter tournament. Haba.

Impressed with Coach Okpala after the NFF treated him like Garbage. I am glad the coach still has passion for Nigeria. His point about Onazi makes a lot of sense. People like him should run the NFF than corrupt politicians.

As for begging a player, he is right. If the player does not dream to play for the Super Eagles, he will never give 100% on the pitch with the Super Eagles.

Orkpekyandega:

Nigeria: Okpala to Oliseh - Don't Beg Any Player to Play for Eagles

Interview
Nigeria: Okpala to Oliseh - Don't Beg Any Player to Play for Eagles
interview
1980 AFCON winner,Sylvanus Okpala, in this interview with SOLOMON NWOKE. charts the path through which the Eagles can be super again.
Generally, which are the other things you want to tell Nigerians regarding the country's football?
The only thing I want to say is that we have to keep supporting the team coach, Sunday Oliseh and the boys. It is too early to start criticizing him now after playing just one match. Another thing I would like our coaches and football officials to be careful in making statements that could affect the team. When something transpires between a coach and a player it should not necessarily be made public.
On the side of officials I would like to cite the case of Ogenyi Onazi during our match against Chad in Kaduna. A Chadian player was angry when a penalty was awarded to Eagles and he charged on Onazi. Onazi retaliated but was caught by the referee who didn't see the first offender. Onazi was shown a red card but before the disciplinary committee of CAF could take a decision on that, the officials of the Nigeria Football Federation had already condemned him and it was in the news everywhere and they ( CAF) read it.
That would aid them in taking disciplinary action. Action of our people could make announce a two match ban if originally they thought of a one match ban. You know that it all depends on the gravity of the offence. Let's keep quiet when we are supposed to and work hard always.
Another thing is that I would not go on my knees as a coach to beg a player to play for Nigeria. I can always educate the player and tell him that he would have a good future with Nigeria but I will not beg. You can ask a player to come and join you and you give reasons why it will be good for the player but not to beg. The person must show interest. If you beg or compel somebody to play for you he may not give 100 per cent.
And if anything arises the player may be grumbling, saying if he had known he would not have agreed. Any player that makes up his mind on his own would not have such mind. There's psychological aspect of the game too.
Begging a player to come and play would that have any effect on the team or the pattern of play of the team?
No, when you start begging a player to come and play for his national team it is not good. The person must make up his mind, the important thing is that I, as a coach, will ask him if he would like to play for Nigeria and that I would like him to play for Nigeria and that his future lies in Nigeria as far as the national team is concerned.
But I will not go on my knees begging him and making him so much important because a player must make up his mind first to come and play. If you ask him to come and play and he says he's interested then he will give you 100%. But if you mount pressure on a player to come and play where he does not want to play he will not want to give his best. In fact, he will not give anything and if any slightest thing happens in the team he will quickly remember that he never wanted to be part of the team in the first place.

The reason why Coach Sylvanus Okpala lost his job after a tremendous work in rejuvenating the Super Eagles to help Coach Keshi lift the AFCON 2013. One of the reason why Coach Keshi's job became difficult.

What was the relationship between you and the Nigeria Football Federation before the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations?

Before the 2013 AFCON, NFF had been paying my full entitlements— match bonuses and salaries—as at when due and in accordance with my contract. They didn’t default. I have a contract with NFF where it is written that I will take 150 per cent of whatever the players get as my bonus. And they had paid me this for a year before the AFCON. But suddenly when we got to South Africa for the AFCON, they slashed my match bonuses by 50 per cent. They paid Stephen Keshi and the other assistant coaches, Ike Shorunmu and Daniel Amokachi in full but slashed mine by 50 per cent without any formal or prior information as regards to that. They didn’t contact me or the head coach, Keshi.

Did you take your case to the NFF to find out why your bonuses were slashed by 50 per cent?

I called Mike Umeh, Emeka Inyama, Aminu Maigari and other members of the NFF board to know why. Maigari said he was told that my bonuses were slashed because the money was not enough. I said  if the money was not enough, then they should have slashed the bonuses across board. Why was mine alone slashed? So, I called (Patrick) Ekeji and told him what was going on. I asked him to help me beg Maigari. I never knew  Ekeji later called Maigari. When I called him (Maigari), he said I reported him to Ekeji and the government. He said he told Ekeji that he was not going to pay me and he didn’t.  And he said, “If you like, you can report me to the President of Nigeria. If he tells me to pay, I will not pay, after all, I am not under Nigeria, I am under FIFA.” He told me never to call his line again before he cut the conversation abruptly. Since then, I have not called him.

Which other means did you employ for your slashed bonuses to be remitted to you?

My complaint was laid before the sports minister but he didn’t do anything. They still continued to slash my match bonuses. What I did was to ask somebody to plead on my behalf so that my remaining 50 per cent bonus would be paid. So I approached Ekeji to help me out. After we defeated Cote d’Ivoire, we [/were to play Mali in the semi-final and suddenly, two days before the match, they came to my door at 6am and gave me a query. I showed my boss, Keshi, the query. I answered the query under 24 hours as was stipulated and I gave Keshi a copy. They said in the query that what I did was an act of insubordination; that Ekeji is an outsider. How can you say Ekeji, a former national team player, is an outsider? He was even assistant captain of the national team at a time. As NSC DG, he was in a position to liaise with several sports federations including football. Ekeji once held a meeting with the minister, Maigari, Chris Green, Musa Amadu and all the coaches before the AFCON. So, if Ekeji was an outsider, why did we hold a meeting with him discussing how to move the national team forward? Ekeji was detailed to monitor our training and he came thrice to watch us in South Africa. Maigari or the NFF officials didn’t complain that Ekeji was an outsider all these while but when it got to my bonus, they labeled him an outsider. The point is that they never wanted me.

When Keshi said there was a problem (During AFCON 2013), there was. The truth of the matter is that they never supported us during the AFCON. In the middle of the tournament, they decided to slash a coach’s money by 50 per cent. That automatically means that they didn’t want the team to win. I called Keshi and told him not to bother about what was happening. I told him the only way we could remain relevant was by winning the AFCON. And Keshi said, “I believe, let’s work towards that.”

Were there other issues in the Nigerian camp during the AFCON?

They caused a lot of confusion in South Africa. They had even penciled down a coach who would take over after Keshi. I was also supposed to leave the team while Amokachi and Shorunmu would assist the man. They peddled a lot of stories all in anticipation that we would not qualify for the knockout stages. They said I slapped Efe Ambrose and Vincent Enyeama. They made up the story because they wanted to bring in a new coach. It was everywhere in the news in South Africa that they had already arranged for a new coach to take over. There was nothing they didn’t do for us not to win the AFCON. Keshi is a great guy; he was able to absolve all the pressure and I backed him. They intended sacking Keshi and me so that Shorunmu and Amokachi would stay to work with the new coach.

.....Coach Sylvanus Okpala.

You guys can see why I get pissed with the NFF and the way they run our football. There was a clear case of sabotage to stop Nigeria from winning AFCON 2013. Just as we noticed a clear sabotage of our Super Flying Eagles.

After they sacked me, my mother called me and asked, “Why did they sack you?”I told her they said they didn’t have money to pay me. She said, “Nigeria doesn’t have money to pay my son? How can they sack you after serving Nigeria from junior to senior national teams? Why must they treat my son like this?” She developed a stroke immediately and died from it in August. So, indirectly, my mother died as a result of my sack. Let the NFF come and tell Nigerians what I did to deserve this treatment.....Coach Sylvanus Okpala.

You're right Sir. I was also aware of the way Okpala was maltreated and the fact that The Super Eagles had to rise above sabotage to stun the bookmakers and pundits at Afcon 2013.
I knew from the moment maigari and co succeeded in making him leave his asst coach role that the Super Eagles would struggle......... I was really disturbed at such devt.

Well, all is in the past now....... We just gotta move on. Keshi and Okpala remain heroes. I just hope Oliseh delivers something far better than they did.

I Cant Think Of A Worse Football Federation In The World Than The Nff. They Are Corrupt Very Very Corrupt, They Cant Prepare Teams For TournameNtS Adequately, Friendly Matches Na Problem For Them To Salaries Of Coaches And Bonuses Of Player Is A Crime But They Know How And The Money To Travel Around The Globe To Watch Matches That Do No Good To US

The point is that they never wanted me.

abaaajoooo!!! I now see the reason why we've been retrogressing in our sports(most especially football). Imagine d Nff president saying he is above d country's president-if I get d report right. Who is funding d nff? ...Blatter and his cohorts(other FA CHAIRMANS) have made laws so that their corrupt practice we never be brought to justice. This kinda law needs to be revisited n necessary changes should be make.
NFF officials putting their selfish interest ahead of d nation's since time immemorial. God help us!

You are one hundred percent right. These laws the members of the NFF flaunt were designed by a corrupt set of people who put personal gains over the lovers of football. Many laws in FIFA and other footballing confederations needs revisiting.

Sodje seals Man City deal

SEPTEMBER 29, 2015 : ’TANA AIYEJINA

English giants Manchester City have beaten rivals Liverpool and Everton to the signature of the highly-rated talent Taione Sodje.

The 12-year-old, who has a Nigerian father, Bright, was snapped up from the Sheffield United academy and has an academy contract that will keep him at the Etihad until he is 15.

Taione comes from a family with a huge football tradition. His uncles Efe and Sam have represented Nigeria at senior level, while Akpo is a striker with a big reputation in the lower tiers of English football.

Bright said the decision to play for City was purely Taione’s, adding that the additional option of going to school gave City the edge over the Reds and Toffees. The deal was just before Taione’s 12th birthday on September 20.

“The three clubs were interested and I had discussions with my wife and son. He said he was opting for City because of their £200m academy, quality coaching and the chance to get quality education while at the club,” Bright told our correspondent on the telephone on Monday.

“City said if we (family) decide to relocate to Manchester, they would put him in a private school. Everton and Liverpool weren’t offering that in terms of education.”

The former rugby player added that Taione has a chance to seal a professional deal with the 2013/14 Premier League champions in the near future.

“Taione’s got five years to prove himself; that he is good enough to play for City at scholarship level. His present deal is an academy contract. When he turns 15, he will be given a scholarship, which takes him till he is 17.”

I believe if Man City looks into establishing partner academies in Nigeria, they will profit massively. It is clear the talents are here. Wishing Sodje the best in his endeavors and our coaches should keep an eye out for him to invite him for age grade tournaments.
