Chibok Girls kidnap is a politically organized abductionParents of more than 200 schoolgirls abducted a year ago in the northeastern Nigerian town of Chibok have suggested that the vice principal (academic) of the school where the teenage girls were kidnapped was complicit in their kidnap. Chibok High school girls are still missing The parents claimed that the role of the vice principal was at least questionable, adding that their daughters were made vulnerable to Boko Haram kidnappers. Some of the parents leveled the allegations while speaking to a correspondent of SaharaReporters. A mother of one of the abducted girls, Mariam Abubakar, stated that Vice Principal Yerima Banjiri had told the school girls that any one of them who failed to sleep in the school the night of the abduction would be expelled as a student of Government Girls Secondary School Chibok. According to her, “A week before their abductions, Malam Yerima threatened the students not to leave for their various homes. He said that whoever went home should forget she was ever a student at the school. He told the girls that none of them should go home, that they must sleep in the school. However, none of the teachers’ daughters or even the daughters of the management staff was among those kidnapped. Only the children of we poor people were asked to sleep in the school. The [teachers and administrators] had kept their children in safer places before Boko Haram arrived.” The distraught mother accused the vice president and possibly other staff of conniving with Boko Haram. “Our concern is that since the day of [the girls’] abduction, we have never set our eyes on Malam Yerima. He is on run,” Ms Abubakar said. A father of an abducted girl also criticized what he characterized as the Federal Government’s approach of levity in dealing with the abduction. “We have lost confidence in the Nigerian government’s, reaction to our missing children. Nobody asked any questions to the teachers. In fact they are moving free in cities. Why has the government not investigated any of the teachers?” he asked. One of the parents told SaharaReporters that they had been warned not to speak about their suspicion of the vice principal and other teachers and administrators. But several of the parents and relatives of the abducted girls said they had run out of patience after more than a year since the abductions with little or no hope of their daughters’ rescue. http://saharareporters.com/2015/04/24/chibok-parents-abducted-schoolgirls-parents-accuse-vice-principal |

Chibok: CAN releases names of abducted girls
on May 04, 2014 /
BY CALEB AYANSINA
ABUJA – CHRISTIAN Association of Nigeria, CAN, Sunday, released the names of the abducted female students in Chibok by the Book Haram Sect
The National Christian Body, consequently, demanded N50m as damages as well as overseas scholarship, for each girl from the federal government.
A Statement signed by the President/Founder of Old Time Revival Hour, Kaduna & immediate-past chairman of Northern States Christian and Elders Forum (NOCSEF), an affiliate of CAN, Evangelist Matthew Owojaiye gave reason for the attack on Chibok girls’ high school.
“Chibok Local Government is 90% Christians. Majority of the girls abducted are Christian! Why did Boko Haram visit Chibok Local Government? Why didn’t they visit so many other Local Government Girls Secondary Schools in Borno State?” While demanding for those girls in Senior Secondary School, SSS, one and two to be transfered to schools of their choice, CAN called on faithful across the country to pray for their release.
Owojaiye said for “Daughters of Zion taken captive, to be treated as slaves and sold into marriage to unclean people. Abomination has been committed.
“ Raise lamentation to High Heavens. What a shame on the Church of the Living God.
“The Church in Nigeria is hereby called to A Lamentation Prayer.
“Every Christian home must raise a lamentation to heaven daily. Let God arise and defend his Name, Honour and Majesty.
“Let a 15 minutes cry to heaven be done in every Church every time they gather. Oh God, Rend the Heavens and come down!
Why should the people say where is our God?
“The Military may not be able to solve the problem but prayer will. Ordinary Military force may not get them out! Intensive Agonizing Prayer will.”
CAN added that there should be a concrete plan by the federal government after the recovery of the abducted girls.
“We make the following demands of the Federal Government whose duty it was to protect the innocent girls.
“First, a N50million damage as trauma compensation to each girl.
“Second, a preparation to take each girl to an overseas University on Government scholarship by September 2014. Preparation for that must start now!
Vanguard has not been able to verify the authenticity of the list.

Gov. Ambode pledges LASG's support to President Buhari's efforts to rescue Chibok girls
NAN-H-10 Support
Lagos, Aug. 27, 2015 (NAN) Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Thursday said his administration had identified with the promise of President Mohammadu Buhari to ensure the safe return of the missing Chibok girls.
Ambode made the assertion when ``Bring Back Our Girls Campaign Movement’’ visited him at Ikeja to commemorate the 500 days of the abduction of 217 Chibok girls in Borno State.
``'We appreciate your persistency and consistency to this noble course which has kept hope alive in the last 500 days.
``'We are more disturbed about the reaction of the past administration, which was inadequate and globally condemned.
``I want to state categorically that my administration truly identifies with the position expressed by President Buhari as he has vowed to bring back the girls alive.
``We pray that God will grant our prayers and make their safe return a reality as well as grant their parents the strength to carry on,’’ he said.
Ambode promised to be committed to the upkeep and welfare of the internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state and ensure that they were comfortable.
Earlier, Mrs Aisha Oyebode, the Coordinator of the Lagos chapter of the movement, decried the slow pace of government's efforts in the rescue operation of the missing girls.
Oyebode, who was represented by Dr Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, Executive Director of Women Advocates’ Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC) said there was need for the girls’ rescue.
She said the movement had engaged many relevant agencies, stakeholders, state governors and even President Buhari, but all to no avail as the girls had yet to be rescued.
According to her, the movement is demanding that the Nigerian government fulfils its constitutional role of ensuring that the welfare of Nigerians is prioritised.
``This abduction has affected education in the North-East, especially the education of the girl-child. Government needs to do something to avoid the long term effect of these problems.
``The Chibok girls are not the only victims of insurgency, there are many men and women being kidnapped in the North-East on daily basis.
``This insurgency has also displaced over two million Nigerians and some of them are in Lagos State,’’ she said.
``We call on the Lagos State Government to support the demands to ensure that its relevant agencies fulfil its legal role of safe guarding the welfare of IDPs.
``We urge Gov. Ambode to ensure that the immediate needs of the IDPs in Kirikiri, Ibeju-Lekki and Magodo are met, especially the right to education and healthcare as applicable to other residents.
``Also, we urge you to commission a security review of all public schools in the state to ensure the safety of school children,’’ Oyebode said.
She appeal to Ambode to relay their demands to other state governors at their next Governors' Forum to aid collective fight against insurgency, boost rescue operation of the Chibok girls and ensure the welfare of IDPs.
In her remarks, Mrs Yemisi Ransome-Kuti, urged Ambode to utilise his position to support the movement.
``You have shown so much commitment and action to the welfare of the people in your short stay in office.’’
Moses Zakwa, Chairman, Chibok Community in Lagos, said that there were no functional schools in Chibok presently and that all the young indigenes had fled the community abandoning the aged.
``We are so concerned because the abduction of these girls had turned our community to a desert.
``We appreciate Lagos State for accommodating some of our displaced people and we beg Gov. Ambode to help in finding a lasting solution to the problems of the Chibok people,’’ he said.
NAN reports that the female students were kidnapped from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno, on the night of April 15, 2014.
The Boko Haram sect claimed responsibility for the kidnap of the girls. (NAN) LCO/PDE http://www.nannewsnigeria.com/gov-ambode-pledges-lasgs-support-president-buharis-efforts-rescue-chibok-girls |
