Pls house I just got a 300 and I started seeing a sign that looks like a car with flash at d back on my dash. I thought it was d tire pressure which was down, but after filling the sign was still there, what could be the problem pls

2011 passat cc or 2010 GS350

Why doesn't the GS have a Mark Levinson sound system? Why? Why? cry
Re: Club-Lexus by femicousim: 2:09pm On Oct 22, 2015
i rather you do the GS350, the german machine(passat) is clearly a lot more complex in terms of on-board electronics, a beauty to drive @ night with its red backlight, it evokes a feeling, STILL a GS350 is just ok especially in the area of maintenance (cost & competence)

Your light, one or more bulbs burnt.
Check your headlamps, rear lights and brake lights, and replace burnt bulb.

Guy

How do you get part numbers?

you may also ask your repair technician to check it in his repair manual, say ALLDATA for example

Thanks a lot. After entering a flooded area in pH, started hearing a noise from the back tire, so I thought its related to the light. What do I do about d noise.
Sorry its my first car, and first time driving

I agree with you on maintaince... But the sound system is sooo base!!!
I wonder if I can do a personal upgrade to a premium sound system...
And that passat cc is something else on the highway... I just don't know what to compromise...

@slydog, visit a good mechanic to check the back tyre for possible cause of the noise.

I've inspected 2 units of the GS350 and neither has the Mark Levinson. Maybe the GS460 does but I don't want it.

Or could it be the trim level? Does GS350 come in base and luxury trims?

Na wah ooooo........

This our club is gradually dying or people are not having issues to discuss? i hope it is the latter sha grin

Kingreign, Gazzuzz i need your expertise ooooooo......

I noticed for a week now that my 2004 lexus rx330 AWD, is sometimes sluggish when i want to accelerate. Kind of like a delay before picking. Yesterday after driving for awhile and noticing it, i parked and revved the engine with the gear in neutral. i noticed that when the engine came down to 800rpm from 3000rpm, it shudders but no check engine light comes on. i repeated the procedure and the same thing happen this morning after driving to work.

I scanned the car but go no codes, however in the pending code section it showed (i think P0442 or something) evaporation emission leak (small leak) as the only pending code.

I rechecked my gas tank cap to ensure it was closed properly. but the rough idling does not manifest when i start the car in the morning just when i raise the rev with the gear in neutral.

I am yet to change the plugs since i got the car from the US, though i have changed the engine oil, trans-axle oil (both front and rear) and tranny oil. (Using the recommended specification in the owners manual for the three oils Toyota 5W30, Toyota type IV gear oil AND hypoid oil 90w or something cant recall)

Also ever since i got the car, it sometimes jerks, like if am coasting down the road and i accelerate it jerks once when the gear engages. That is the only period i notice that jerk. if you are accelerating you then coast and on resumption of your accelerating it jerks when the gear engages. aside from that the gear changes are seamless and efficient. does your exhibit this behavior? it was this that prompted me to change the gear and trans-axle oil.

For my current issue, will a plug change and oil service do the trick? and can i get OEM iriduim spark plugs? if not what other brand do you recommend?

Since you do not have any misfire codes I'll suggest you check fuel pressure.
Re: Club-Lexus by Emperoh(m): 2:37pm On Nov 13, 2015
But what triggers this small leak emission.

Fuel cap is in place. I also notice that any time i fill my tank to the brim, fuel odour is quite strong in the cabin until say i burn up to 10 litres.

Can you point me to anything?

You'll need to check up the fuel cap if its gasket is still good or worn out, the evap system, and also the fuel pump area under the rear seat.

Let's inspect your car.... Next weekend or when you're free. A lot of things could make the car get sluggish. From fuel pressure, to in entered air entering or escaping from the intake.

As for the jerk, it could be a bushing/mount that's wearing out.
Re: Club-Lexus by kakameks: 9:28pm On Nov 13, 2015
Decided to change the plugs and the oil.
Those oem plugs are darn expensive. Got the six for 11k had to insist that the guy included a free oil filter also.
then got Toyota 5w30 oil for 8k.

I went to this guy to do the oil and plug replacement. Men I never knew the entire intake manifold had to come down to get at the 3 plug at the back.

well finally after the changes the car was okay but the idle rpm was high had to reset the whole car. But I felt the problem was the throttle position sensor was to low and a reset would have solved the initial problem. Just odd that it did not throw up any codes. Though after the repair my check engine and vsc came on. grin on scanning I got 7 codes. Ranging from maf, throttle sensor to air fuel ratio sensor. I just wiped all and was happy that on getting home from the mech. The code did not come back.

Will really take the car for a serious test run tomorrow.

So the learning point is if you have a similar issue try a reset before buying parts.

Go to Ajah roundabout. Turn as if you want to face Ado road, the first right turn before Olumegbon palace is the busy road between shops and market steads. The steel machinery workshop is like 5th to 6th shop on your left facing the market and taxi queue. They will grind the braking disc for just N2,500 to N3k for the pair.
