I see.. In that case he should break his reply into short sections and post them separately. I can't wait to see his "scientific" answer to my question
There is still a possibility something 'higher' is delaying his response. wink

Don't be silly. You should've known that was meant to be on a lighter mood. That's the way you go about looking for "gods" to insult. Who has your time?

An Atheist Mother’s Promise: A letter to my sons

Every day, your dad and I are humbled by the responsibility of parenthood. Not only by the needs of feeding you and making sure you don’t bump your head on the corner of the coffee table. (I’ll admit, we’ve failed at that a few times.) But we’re also humbled by the role of raising you to be free-thinking, conscious and deliberate individuals in a society that’s on religious autopilot.

Faithful people often ask your dad and I how we’ll raise you without religion as our guides. They seem to think that we’re rudderless, listing with life’s current and without purpose. They ask how we’ll teach you to be moral without lessons from God. But we have a plan. We’re atheists by a lot of thinking, reasoning and choosing and we will be your parents with as much deliberateness and thought.

Hereafter is my commitment to you.

I promise that by example I will teach you kindness, justice, cooperation, respect and tolerance. Because morality is part of what it means to be a responsible member of society and the world.

I promise to help you see other people’s perspectives, consider their experiences and be tolerant of their differences. I’ll encourage you to see beyond the labels of good and evil to understand the complexity of human existence.

I promise that as you grow and as I get to know you, I’ll accept you for who you are rather than any preconceived notion of who you “should” be.

I promise to teach you that you’re an agent of change in your own life and in this world. You aren’t a victim of circumstance and you don’t need to wait for unseen forces to bring you miracles. You’re your own creator — of fulfillment, joy, love and peace.

Alongside science, history, philosophy and the arts, I promise to teach you about all religions and give you the intellectual freedom to wonder, question and come to your own conclusions. And if your conclusions are different from my own, as many inevitably will be, I promise to respect them.

I promise to tell you the truth as much as I know it. And encourage a lifetime of curiosity, questioning and exploration in pursuit of more knowledge and your own truth.

I promise to show you that this moment right here is all the heaven we need. This life is our gift and our purpose. It’s our opportunity to live richly and to make lasting and meaningful change for society and humanity.

And in guiding you through life, I promise to talk to you about death — as much as I understand it — without euphemisms or fables, but as a natural part of this complex and enduring world. And I’ll talk to you about how brief a time we have in a world that existed before us and that will exist far after we depart.

I promise to love you fiercely, honestly and courageously.

When I was a Christian, I would never have uttered this to someone else. At least I know Scriptures say that God "...does not want anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

So question: Are you a Christian? Would Yahweh be pleased with you? grin grin grin

NOTHING HAS A PLAN FOR YOU

Have you ever heard god-believers saying things like, "Nothing comes from nothing." or "Nothing suddenly exploded and became everything! Hahaha!"?

These are feeble attacks on secularists who, they falsely claim, believe "everything came from nothing". It is also their rationale for believing that God was required to create everything. But, hold on a minute, what is God?

Every believer will tell you that God is immaterial--he is made of NOTHING! So it is actually believers who believe that everything came from nothing. Not only that, but they believe NOTHING has infinite knowledge, power and intelligence!

Perhaps I'm being unfair. The believer will say God is not nothing, God is spirit. What then is spirit? Spirit is not matter; actually no one seems to know what spirit is. Is it energy? A mysterious force? We just don't know.

So, when you boil it down, believers and non-believers arrive a similar scenario. Science does not yet know what existed prior to the Big Bang or what caused the universe to expand. Was it the quantum version of nothing? A singularity? Quantum information? An n-dimensional space?

Faced with an unknown like this, secularists simply admit they do not yet know and look to science to fill the gap.

But believers cannot do this. They insist nothing existed prior to the Big Bang but they call it "spirit". They say this nothing caused everything to exist. And it loves you and has a plan for you...

They assume this nothing is the god the Hebrews wrote about 3,000 years ago. They have to ASSUME this because there is no rational way to conclude that the precursor to the universe and a jealous Iron-Age god are in any way connected at all.

When you think about all this, it is easy to conclude that believers have collectively lost their minds. But I don't think that's the case. I just don't think they have started to use them yet.

I am Sorry, I never meant to use those words, but i was just concern ( my apologies) sad. I just wish you see the truth, God should just show you the truth. And also, God is not willing that any should perish like you rightly said, that was why he sent his son to redeem us from the corruption of this world cheesy.

PREDICTIONS: SCIENCE VS RELIGION

"Enormous Asteroid Discovered Last Week Will Whizz Past Earth On Halloween"
http://www.iflscience.com/space/halloween-asteroids-are-not-scaring-us

Religious books & prophets predict. Their predictions differ from scientific predictions in an obvious way. Above is a scientific prediction released on 20th October, 2015. Precise. Mentions the exact name of the event & the exact time it will happen.

Actually, prophets don't predict. They make ambiguous statements that are later picked up by their believers & twisted to look like they were predictions for the event. Imagine some prophet 5,000 years ago saying something like the following:

'There shall be a great danger in the heavens and my faeces shall pass over the earth'

Of course, as science makes this prediction, the faithfuls of this prophet would simply go into their book, read out the above statement & conclude that it was a prediction for the asteroid that will pass the earth on Halloween.

They'd go like 'an asteroid movement is a great danger in the heavens & asteroids are God's faeces & God's faeces passing by the earth is an allegory for the asteroid passing by the earth.' All of a sudden, whatever Stephen Hawking is just saying has been predicted by our prophet 5,000 years prior. Therefore, our god is real.
You see now? Make an ambiguous general statement & years, centuries or millenia after, the statement can fit in into just about any contemporary event.

I don't call such predictions. I call them retrospective linking of irrelevant statements to events. Science doesn't make such predictions. Scientific predictions are precise & on-point.

Don't deceive yourself bro. You're telling me that a machine can pinpoint every single thought, idea or feeling going through your mind? Don't be ridiculous my friend. Sure I know about hormones which are released depending on some excited states of emotion. We can test brain activity for those. But a machine that tells you exactly what I feel or what I'm thinking or what I experience personally is yet to be invented. Until then THINK AGAIN about a USEFUL answer to my question.

I think the problem here is your refusal to critically think through your question. You probably have heard it being asked by someone who u think is smart and adopted it without really thinking through just because you want to believe in the existence of God.

Now, we are talking God, a supposedly intelligent and almighty creator, who created everything physical and you are here comparing him with feelings? are you saying that this creator is as real as our feelings? Even if i come to accept that feelings cant be seen, how does that have anything to do with the creator of the universe? Do you even realize that feelings are generally accepted for what they are? feelings are as good as real because, even though they cant be seen, there is no doubt by anyone of their effect on people. Feelings are what they are. How does comparing a creator with feeling make any sense? are you saying that God exists like feelings? is that why you have to believe to understand him? is this what he is? as real as feeling?

what if God exist? what difference does his existence make? how does the fact that humans believe God exists change anything? how does the fact that John believes in Yahweh and Muse believes in Allah change anything. does it change the fact that they will both seek for food once they are hungry? What exactly is the function of the existence of a creator who is all about feelings? what exactly is the function of a creator who has devil as a rival?

Everything about this so called creator is all about u? u make excuse for the creator when he does not answer ur prayers. You pray to your God and u still do things yourself. you drive your car yourself and get home safely, then you go on your knees and thank this creator for getting you home safely. You sustain and injury during a fatal accident you thank the creator for saving you life and leaving u with an injury. In all these he is silent, just your feelings telling you what he did and did not do. You pray and answer your prayer yourself.

is this just what this creator is all about? FEELINGS?

@Joseph1013

How are you doing today.....still snipping and chipping away people's faith in a supreme being eh?...lol.

Saw a picture about slavery which interested me...asking why the Bible did not condemn slavery...its because slavery as practiced by the Israelite or according to the mosaic law is not the same as slavery today. In fact slaves in the Niger-delta of old are handled quite differently from how slavery was practiced in the plantations of America. So you have to look as the word 'slave' with respects to the culture where it is practiced r how it was practiced.

My friend, I'm not comparing God with feelings here. I'm only trying to tell you guys that there is NO WAY to PROVE God to you using physical phenomenon. God is beyond the realm of physical knowledge. God is better experienced personally.
You probably think I'm dumb enough to copy a 'smart' person's argument on God's existence. I will ignore that statement.
Listen my friend, I believe in God because I KNOW he exists. I sense, I experience and I feel his presence in my life every passing day.I can't prove these experiences to you. I don't believe in God cos I'm afraid I will burn in hell if I don't or based on hearsay. I know God exists. The mere fact that I don't know how I came into this world is enough reason why I revere the Almighty. God is ultimately unknowable. He is beyond and much greater than descriptions of him in any religious book. Though religion plays a good in directing our minds to his existence. It is important to have a personal experience with him.
You atheists are badly looking for a reason to believe in God, but you will only find it when you drop all your negative conceptions about him and be willing to admit that You don't know how God works or what God is or does. Then and only then will you find him while standing on uncertainty.
My belief in God does not take away my RESPONSIBILITY for my actions. God created us to make choices. And our choices determines our results. Belief in God doesn't take your responsibility away. It makes you strive to make good choices.
I understand the atheists and why they fear to believe in a God they think is wicked, partial, judgemental etc. But the problem is that you assume you KNOW God. God is beyond knowing, when you admit it you will begin to see.
It is still your CHOICE to keep denying his existence or NOT. God respects our choices. But I know you badly need a reason to believe in him. That reason will come to you personally soon when you drop your illusion of knowing/understanding God. Then you will see that this reason is better felt than described.
Thanks for reading.

OK... U actually did compare God to feelings, but nice to know u have changed ur mind. Well if you can't prove God physically to me what then are we doing? How can someone beyond physical knowledge be experienced personally? Isn't this like having a personal feeling of God? What's that? How can the creator be reduced to being felt on a personal level? So whose personal experience is right? The Muslims or Christians personal experience or Hindu? Why don't I have a personal experience of this creator? Didn't he create me too? This personal thing does not work na... Its fraudulent and childish coming from a creator.
I never said you are dumb. I said you think the question is a smart one, it is not a smart question as u think.

Listen my friend, I believe in God because I KNOW he exists. I sense, I experience and I feel his presence in my life every passing day.I can't prove these experiences to you. I don't believe in God cos I'm afraid I will burn in hell if I don't or based on hearsay. I know God exists.
You KNOW God exist and SENSE and EXPERIENCE him and FEEL his presence yet you told me there is no way this same God can be proven physically. What are u actually experiencing when u can't prove it.

The mere fact that I don't know how I came into this world is enough reason why I revere the Almighty. God is ultimately unknowable. He is beyond any possible descriptions of him in any religious book. He is beyond religion.
You are just blowing hot and cold at the same time. Listen to yourself:
- you know God exist and experience him yet you can't prove or describe this experience. OK
- then the reason why you know this God you feel and experience exist is because you don't know how u came into existence. (Chose one: do you know God exists because you experience him or because u don't know how u came into existence?)
-then you say this God you feel and experience is unknowable. Lool... So how do you know he exists since he is unknowable? What then do you know?

You atheists are badly looking for a reason to believe in God, but you will only find it when you drop all your negative conceptions about him and be willing to admit that You don't know how God works or what God is or does. Then and only then will you find him while standing on uncertainty.
Why exactly do you think we are badly looking for a reason to believe in your God? What function does he have in anybody's life if at all he exist? Will believing in him make all my wish come true?
Besides why should I drop all negative concept to find him? Why exactly is he hiding and looking for people who will be positive about him before he shows himself?
Is that why he created us? To do hide and seek?
Guy why can't we just know this creator without all these back and forth argument. The mere fact that we are here exchanging this conversation is a solid prove he does not exist.

My belief in God does not take away my RESPONSIBILITY for my actions. God created us to make choices. And our choices determines our results. Belief in God doesn't take your responsibility away. It makes you strive to make good choices.
Why exactly did this your unknowable God create us and gave us brain to make choices only for him to hide and expect us to just be positive before we find him? What is he doing with the choice we make? Why is it important to this Almighty creator that we make choice.
Bro what is the function of believing God in our lives when we are still faced with our responsibilities weather we believe him or not? If I believe God exists what exactly does this believe change?

I understand the atheists and why they fear to believe in a God they think is wicked, partial, judgemental etc. But the problem is that you assume you KNOW God. God is beyond knowing, when you admit it you will begin to see.
What nonsense is this? Are u confused? Or do you think you are talking to people in primary school? Did u even read what u wrote?
When I admit I don't know this unknowable God then I will know him (WTF)
seriously I don't only fear to believe in a wicked and judgemental God. I fear to believe in a mad, childish irresponsible God. If your God actually exist it will really be a pity. He must be schizophrenic. I see a God who would wake up one day in heaven and throw u all in hell just to have fun. Imagine your God creating devil and sending him to earth for no reason. Imagine ur God creating man. Give him brain and go into hiding and wants man to first admit he is unknowable before he knows him. He must be sick.

It is still your CHOICE to keep denying his existence or NOT. God respects our choices. But I know you badly need a reason to believe in him. Reread your post again and you will see what is PREVENTING you from knowing that God exists. All your negative BELIEFS about God shields you from that personal experience. Anyway, it's YOUR MOVE as they say in chess. You can hold on tightly to your notions of God or Take my advice to see your proof. It doesn't CHANGE anything whether you believe or NOT. And I'm NOT begging you either(Lol). I only came to pass this message to those it is intended for. Live your life as you want and ignore my post if it hurts your BELIEF about the Creator. Enjoy! smiley

U just made perfect sense...your words: "it dosnt change anything weather I believe him or not" good. Sometimes I wonder what u guys are all about. You know worshipping this imaginary being is uselsss yet you are looking for people to drag into your delusion.
What is the function of your God? No answer.
What is the use of worshipping this ur creator? No answer
What does worshipping this God change in my life? No answer
If God created me how come I can't just know? Didn't he create me of his own will? Why create me and disappear and want my complex brain to be delusioned before he appears to me? NO ANSWER.

SO WHAT THE F**K DO U WANT FROM KNOWING THAT FOLLOWING U CHANGES NOTHING?

Jesus says I am the way the Truth and the Life no man comes to the father except by me - John 14:16.

He gives light and truth, it has pleased God to set all things under him - Colosians 1:19; Ephesians 1:22
Nice...it's really good that you have the patience to answer my questions. Most religionists just throw tantrums along the road.

About your statement, why should we believe Jesus when he says he is the Truth? Other people in the past have said exactly the same things.

Why should we believe the testimony of the Bible seeing that we have had cause to see that it is a very unreliable historical accounts of things?
