Excuses sha... frustration didn't stop her from laughing but stopped her from constructing a 4-line sentence correctly? angry

I can bet you she has never written an application letter on her own before!

just imagine u criticising her as english language is key to economic hardship and unemployment, how many chinise or indian tech guys that dominate world tech understand english, alot of engineers come solve our technical problem in nigeria with out knowing how to speak just a sentence,do u know if she is an engineering gradute?
So who english do help.....go alaba u go prefer igbo language
You made mention of the chinese and Indians, if you don't know, the chinese speak Mandarin and Indians speak Hindu which are their official languages, so if they can speak English fluently, that's an achievement.
Nigeria's official language is English, taught in schools from pre-school to post-graduate level. If a person can't master that language, it's a very bad thing. If she gets employed, can she write an official letter to a client?, represent her company in official matters in public? or be in a capacity to communicate properly with the company's stakeholders? Any client who communicates with such employee would deem the company as incompetent and it doesn't reflect well on the goodwill of such company. So many Nigerian graduates are like that, maybe not being fluent in their grammar but lack the basic qualities needed to be employed, only few are competent. They don't add skills or improve themselves, most can't make use of the Internet to their advantage. Everybody is not meant to be a degree holder.

I'm a graduate, not AM a graduate. Isn't it shameful how most 'graduates' in Nigeria do not know the difference between I'm and am?

By the way, I need a job, not "I need job". Madam graduate, it's a fiercely competitive labour market out there. At this rate you might stand a better chance of getting 'job' by putting your School Cert forward and downplaying your 'graduate' status.

It's possible she made the mistake when she was in a rush to write those words. Don't quickly jump to criticise her. I remember I made one or two mistake too yesterday when I sent a message to a white man, it was after I sent it that I noticed the mistake.

Mistakes, not mistake...

Spot the difference?

Y'all bashing /blasting her should take a chill.Nobody is beyond grammatical blunder. Wish her well.Grammar isn't her language.

Well she claims to be a graduate so she must have studied 'grammar'.... the blunder was repeated through out the notice...Imagine how her CV will be.. We wish her well but as the first poster said she is better of dropping the graduate thing... If she could not pay attention to this her important 'Notice' little wonder how her attitude to a 'graduate' work will be...

Thanks so much for your observation. I thought I was the only one that noticed the blunder, it's such a shame for a so called graduate.

Be there criticizing her, the next thing you'll se on NL front page is that she has landed a job. Because she was creative and thought out of the box. The ones that can write in English very well, will still be here commenting on her thread announcing her new job. It takes guts to succeed in the current labour market.
I knw the case of som1 dat performed woefully in a job interview, and he got the job. His performance was so bad, that he was recruited because the manager felt he needed to impact on him, afterall it was a graduate training role.
It takes guts and WITS to survive in the labour market. She lacks wits. Am sure she can't write a formal letter talk less an essay.

The parents n friends of this lady would have advised her against this irresponsible and crazy method she is displaying.Apart from making herself and number publicly, look at d kind grammar she is speaking. The type that slept with all available di.cks to pass her courses.Rubbish!

SHE IS SPEAKING?........
P.O.C... SHE IS NOT SPEAKING, ''SHE WROTE''

''MAKING HERSELF AND NUMBER PUBLICLY'' ......... Bad English tho, you can use another word apart from ''making''

''KIND GRAMMAR''...... can u please expatiate on that cos it does not make any meaningful sense

Can u now see that there is no difference between you and that lady,
N.B.......... CRITICISM IS BAD .

Formerly,''I'm'' a graduate is still not correct-It is ''I am'' a graduate. So, nobody knows it all and nobody above mistake.

My bro, she needs to polish up her written English because first impression matters alot as a job seeker trying to win the attention of employers. She also made mistake by writing "Nigerian's help", instead of "Nigerians help". However, I salute her courage and determination which will likely take her far in success in life. No doubt, it is only the strong hearted individuals that can attempt what she has just done. I wish her great success in life.

nigga, you wrong. it is >>> I AM A GRADUATE.

In the needless bid to find a fault where none exists, you end up embarrassing yourself. This also applies to all those who liked your post.

Ever heard of the word 'contraction'? Do you know what it means in grammar? Do you know what formal and informal/colloquial language usage means? Do you know what context means?

Google "I'm definition" to clear your doubts.

Some people don't understand the whole point of my initial post. The point is, the labour market is saturated, and things are getting incredibly competitive. It's ridiculous to rely on sympathy to gain advantage. Let's face it, if it comes down to merit (as it should), no serious employer would consider this lady for a decent white collar position.

She needs to work on herself. Regardless of other competencies or skills that she might possess, the ability to communicate effectively and fluently in one's primary language of education is the most basic defining characteristic of an educated person - a graduate for that matter.

Shame that a graduate finds the use of "am" and 'I'm' a tad difficult. undecided

It's not that she made the grammatical blunders that annoys me. It's the fact that other graduates on this forum are defending her with flimsy excuses. It just shows our attitude towards learning and re-learning

Most Nigerian graduates are not employable. It is the sad truth.
Our educational system needs a total overhaul. From the goals of the system to the processes and the curriculum. It is not just an issue of funding.
Unfortunately, our leaders are too short sighted to address the issue.
If an issue does not directly relate to award of contracts they are oblivious to its relevance.
Re: Graduate Walks From Fed. Secretariat To National Assembly Looking For A Job(pic) by Bossken(m): 10:58am On Nov 13, 2015
Well, in as much as I commend her boldness, i fault the grammatical errors in the posters she is putting on. It just shows how terrible the education system is with a whole lot of our graduates unable to express themselves orally or in writing.
