You started ruling in kogi state since the inception of the state, the okuns and Igbirras who are joint owners of the state with u people never for once complaint. None of ur government brought development to the state rather setback is all the state could account for still the true citizens never complain. U took away all the state's belongings to ur zone, these people still keep calm. U have been in government for over eighteen years these people did not protest or fight for the their right. What a shameful creature!!! Now wonder the meaning tribe in yoruba's language, igalla which translate to an animal called antelope. You are indeed animals in humans bodies.

I pity that Yahaya Bello guy.

It's gonna be a bumpy and uneasy ride for him if he eventually become governor.

The igalas will so frustrate his life, James Faleke's situation would have been worse had it been he was chosen (because he's a Christian).

At this juncture, most Igalas will even prefer Wada to continue.
Sorry. It's jst 2 late 4 d greedis. Kogi is 4 all

Anyways, Let's see how it pans out.

Why can't an Okun man rule the state? shocked Is it a taboo?? Are Ebiras and Okuns not part of Kogi State, too? Even if Faleke has lived in Lagos, he is not a stranger to Kogi State, and he knows most of the problems that people in Kogi State have suffered. Even Yomi Awoniyi, wasn't he resident in Lagos, before he became Wada's deputy?

The issue is not whether a person lives in Kogi or not, but if he has the skills, the capacity, vision, energy, intelligence, dynamism and will to transform the state, just like Fashola did in Lagos, and Akpabio did in Akwa Ibom. shocked

I have plenty of Igala folks in my extended family, but honestly you guys need to drop this parochial perspective, and think about what is best for the state! angry

Awoniyi's father was very influential in northern Nigeria, Awoniyi is not the same with Faleke

What is happening between Igala and other tribes in Kogi State and Tiv and Idoma in Benue State and other States politics is a good example of what is happening in the National politics of Nigeria. That's how some part of this Country think is their birthright to rule this Country at all times. Kogi and Benue State politics is just a reflection of what is happening in the National politics.

I'm Igala, but the seat wasn't made for one tribe. Although I was born and brought up in another state. We've seen snail-like development in the state since its creation. Let power shift and let another ethnic group bring in new ideas for betterment of the state. Unless we move away from ethnic sentiments,Kogi state will continue to be one of the most backward states in the country. Power was going to change hands sooner or later, the earlier we learn and move on,the better for all parties. Simple!

Igala christians are more than the muslims.

Then why is it that all their governors till date are muslims?... Are there no Igala Christian politicians?... From Abubakar Audu to Ibrahim Idris to Idris Wada. All Muslims!

All their senators (Kogi east senators) have been Christians as well.
Stephen Achema an igala christian would have been the governor of Kogi if not that he died.

Igalas are not a people who think religiously. U can never use religion to divide them just like yorubas. Any igala candidate that comes out, muslim or christian is supported by all equally.

Lagos state has produced more muslim governors. Does that make Lagos a muslim dominated state?

I have to give the Igala political elites as the most intolerant in the coubtry. How can a single tribe just seize power like the state only belongs to them. Let them take a cue from states like Delta and Cross river. If there's any justice in this world. Faleke should have been allowed to continue the mandate given to him and Audu. This is just crazy and stupid.
If u mention cross river, u must truely have been following nigerian politics at every level. I am a cross riverian and the relative peace in the state and the ability to allow every zone represent as gov'r in the state is something I have always given kudos to.

I agree with you, jare. But I am not concerned about the religious background, of whoever becomes the governor. Kogi State is a multi-ethnic state, and the Igalas should support other candidates from any other tribe within the state, so that someone with a fresh perspective that has the capacity to transform Kogi can get into the saddle. undecided

Nigerians should really stop this character of using the religion of politicians to judge religious majority or minority of a place.
The habit in itself encourages religious politics especially in areas where the people are mixed.

Take a place like Nasarawa state for instance, they have never produced a Christian governor but christians have the slight majority in the state. And only someone who understands the political nature of Nasarawa state would be able to explain the reason for this.

The same thing with Kaduna & Adamawa states. Both states are around 50/50 or christians are even more in Adamawa, but muslims have produced more governors

Please provide us with concrete evidence.
