You started ruling in kogi state since the inception of the state, the okuns and Igbirras who are joint owners of the state with u people never for once complaint. None of ur government brought development to the state rather setback is all the state could account for still the true citizens never complain. U took away all the state's belongings to ur zone, these people still keep calm. U have been in government for over eighteen years these people did not protest or fight for the their right. Why can't an Okun man rule the state? Is it a taboo?? Are Ebiras and Okuns not part of Kogi State, too? Even if Faleke has lived in Lagos, he is not a stranger to Kogi State, and he knows most of the problems that people in Kogi State have suffered. Even Yomi Awoniyi, wasn't he resident in Lagos, before he became Wada's deputy?

The issue is not whether a person lives in Kogi or not, but if he has the skills, the capacity, vision, energy, intelligence, dynamism and will to transform the state, just like Fashola did in Lagos, and Akpabio did in Akwa Ibom.

I have plenty of Igala folks in my extended family, but honestly you guys need to stop this parochial perspective, and think about what is best for the state!

I'm Igala, but the seat wasn't made for one tribe. Although I was born and brought up in another state. We've seen snail-like development in the state since its creation. Let power shift and let another ethnic group bring in new ideas for betterment of the state. Unless we move away from ethnic sentiments,Kogi state will continue to be one of the most backward states in the country. Power was going to change hands sooner or later,the earlier we learn and move on,the better for all parties. Simple!

Let them take a cue from states like Delta and Cross river. If there's any justice in this world. Faleke should have been allowed to continue the mandate given to him and Audu. Nigerians should really stop this character of using the religion of politicians to judge religious majority or minority of a place.
The habit in itself encourages religious politics especially in areas where the people are mixed.

Take a place like Nasarawa state for instance, they have never produced a Christian governor but christians have the slight majority in the state. And only someone who understands the political nature of Nasarawa state would be able to explain the reason for this.

The same thing with Kaduna & Adamawa states. Both states are around 50/50 or christians are even more in Adamawa, but muslims have produced more governors
