Some strange things are happening in the country and only a particular group termed "wailers" are taking note. .. recently, Nigerian court have allowed a party to field two governorship candidates against one person yet, some change agents see it as normal. Recently also, same Nigerian court sacked a constitutionally elected governor and replaced him with another of different party because his party unanimously chose him as candidate from a primary that held somewhere not the capital city... just wondering, y wasn't PDP in taraba allowed to redo the primary and produce another candidate? .. this is a mind troubling issue. u might think u are a pro change agent but no one knows tomorrow ... u might not be satisfied with the ruling party tomorrow and u might want to change them through your vote, that's when u realise that the courts are there to make sure the ruling party wins all the time. .. am not partisan, just trying to make common sense.. ... remember, Robert Mugabe and his party won through the votes of the people, things like this started happening, wailers complained, non wailers thought its nothing, today, both wailers and non wailers united still can't vote Mugabe and his party out of power. .. A word is enough for the wise. |

Afam4eva: Audu has not been declared a winner as of the time he died. What if he had withdrawn his candidature? Could one possibly call his friend or associate to take the position? NO. There is a reason we have 2nd and 3rd Candidates. In a case where elections have been concluded and a winner has been declared, then we can honourably call on the deputy as we can no longer consider a concluded contest between 15 or more candidates. Wada has a better case in Court than Yahaya Bello and Faleke. |

Wada is not contesting with Yahaya Bello or Faleke. He's simply battling with Audu. Let's spend a minute to THINK & apply COMMONSENSE here. Calling Wada a f00l only shows how stu.pid we are as a country. Fact is, he has a STRONGER and firmer case than Faleke or Yahaya Bello. 1 Like |

If what he quoted is what the constitution says, then he has a valid point. One just needs to take away sentiments and political affiliations to properly interpret the law. I bet the pdp is just waiting for errors to be made for them to have tenable cases in court. |

CHAI!!! Dis na wetin I call mount everest of stupidity. Na only 4 Nigeria u go hear dis kind Nonsense dey comot 4 person mouth... Even worse is d fact dt dis fool is a politician & d current governor of kogi state. It shows d caliber of individuals we have in power little wonder our country is dis fvckd up. Hw can u claim victory in an election dt 1.was found 2 b inconclusive by d electoral body. 2. Even if d results were upheld, u didn't record d highest amount of votes. Wat I find stupidly hilarious is dt dis king of fools bases his bogus claim on d demise of audu. Honestly, with these kind of leaders @ d helm of affairs, Nigeria is finished. |

APC fulfilled the electoral requirements before the commencement of the election proper. With the death of Audu which is a "force majeure", Faleke should suitably take Audu's place while APC add a running mate to Faleke. QED. |

Afam4eva: You cannot replace a dead candidate. Majority of the people voted Audu and Wada. Supporters of Wada are not f00ls bro. Failure or death of the first, should automatically result to the emergence of the second. Deputy only comes to play when the real winner has been declared. |

But I think he's actually right cos how can votes be transferred, it just doesn't make any sense,if I was the INEC chairman what I will just do is cancel the election then set a new date next year for a new election and set a time for both parties to have a new primaries, let wada win his primary again and also let faleke, Audu's son and Bello struggle it out and then let them recampaign and let the ojuju kogites go back to the polls, what's very hard to achieve in this I know why Apc are afraid of a rerun, one thing certain is wada will win cos most kogites voted for Audu and not Apc and it doesn't make any sense transferring his votes to someone else, this I think will never work anywhere else in the world. Anyway na dem sabi, If dey d APC like make dem bo dey careful cos they might eventually loose the poll cos of greediness and been self centred and yeah for personal interest as well. |

Lytech: Which constitution gives room for independent candidate during election in Nigeria? Did you see Audu/Wada's name on ballot paper on the day of election? Go and revisit Amaechi's case in River where it was held that electorate's vote belong to the party, but not its flagbearer during election. How people like you reason primitively is astonishing. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Acidosis: No section of Nigerian constitution gives room for independent candidate during election in Nigeria: stop displaying your ignorance here dude. However, the death of a candidate cannot affect the continuity of a party; this is one of the major reasons for which the office of Deputy is constitutionally created whether at Federal, state or Local level. Despite the fact that Amaechi was not presented as the party's flag-bearer during election, no election was re-conducted before he was sworn in as the Governor: the mandate which he didn't work for. At the end, the court held that electorate's vote belong to the party, but not its flag-bearer during election. Commonsense without legal backing is nothing in a sane society: it will be credible enough if you can learn to legalize your commonsense please. |

Ephemmm:bt when Audu was campaigning, his name was not on the poster.....its only Apc logo that was there.....wasnt suprise about people of ur kind....u r among people clamouring for change and in the process voted for an illiterate who was the minister for petroleum....he keep traveling here and there even when there is problem in the sector he was holding. |
Re: Wada: I Won The Poll, Audu’s Votes Died With Him by gemale(m): 10:58am On Nov 30, 2015 |
Acidosis:First of all, d election was declared inconclusive by inec & a rerun is spost 2 occur on Dec 5. So d results have been expunged. Secondly, if d results were upheld, audu's death make little difference. Going by d precedent of amaechi's case, D pple voted 4 d party (apc) & nt just 4 audu. So ideally d governorship shld have gone 2 audu's running mate if d election was upheld. Wat wada is doing is trying 2 rob d electorate of their mandate. Democracy is beyond one man so audu's death doesn't void d victory of apc over pdp in d polls. |

Lytech: At bolded, was the name of his deputy and his party not there too? However, I do not see the reason why you deviate from the subject of discussion: if you want to cry over the last defeat of GEJ in the last election, you are free to open another thread. You are just deficient when it comes to intelligent reasoning. |

I still wonder why the Attorney General has not approached the Supreme Court for interpretations of sections in the Constitution and Electoral Act that relate to issues in Kogi State. |

Lytech:Does that mean the death of Audu in kogi state translate to the Death of Apc in kogi state. One of the guidelines of running for an election is that, there shall be a party that will sponsor you in any electoral period. This simply means if you are as popular as Barrack Obama, you must run political ambition or election under one political party.Which mean the party you are running under first comes before you. |
