VO,
Sir, I got admitted into a Masters programme in Michigan for fall 2016 but I will use my maternal uncle as my sponsor,
1) I hope the difference in last names don't hinder my application as I intend to explain he has always sponsored my education.
2) I have previous travel experience as a language student in Russia, will that count?
3) I am engaged with 2 kids but not yet married is that proof of sufficient ties home?

Thank you in anticipation.

Hello,

1) Ok?
2) Count for what?
3) One last time, we're not your bookie and we're not going to give you odds. If you feel you qualify, you are free to apply.

Hello sunny3180,

If you are in India, from India, and applying in India, I'm not sure why you're asking on this forum. Expect to tell the truth at your interview. If you have further questions, I'd advise you to read the US Embassy in New Delhi's website --> http://newdelhi.usembassy.gov/nonimmigrant_visas/frequently-asked-questions.html

Hello dabigbangishere,

As you have applied for a US visa previously, I'm not sure why you are asking what the requirements are or how to do apply. You can go to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ to apply. Every individual traveling to the US needs their own visa and application.

Folks, for those of you applying for F or M visas: Applicants are strongly encouraged to retain possession of their original I-20. Please bring both your original I-20 and a photocopy of your I-20 to the visa interview. You must only leave a copy of your I-20 with your visa application.

Thank you much!

thanks for this important information, but I'll like to ask if this also imply to those having their interview in Lagos too? Because I have been informed that a copy of i-20 are to be submitted at the Consulate...

Hello Sir/Ma,

Complement of the season, i would like you to advise , i and my wife got our B1/B2 visa on the 2nd nov,2015 . And we traveled on the 20th and we got to ATL on 21st and the CPB stop us and started asking questions on how we got the visa and we told him every thing ,but he said is not convince and told us he will be cancelling the visa , which he did and threw us in the jail, after 13hours in the jail waiting for the next flight back to Nigeria ,the CPB supervisor came and called me and my wife and told me he is the new officer in-charge of our case , and told me to explain what happen .so i explain everything to him and he was disappointed and told me is really sorry about the stress. then he told me to give him some mints to look more in the case , then he left , after 35 mints he came back and told me they are really sorry about the delay, and he will be giving us our passport back and stamp us in ,we spent almost 14 hours at the airport before we got to out hotel,it was really a bad experience,But at-least i enjoy my honeymoon.. BUT our visa is canceled , please advise on what to do?

Thanks

Dear AbujaNIV,

Thanks for all the advice and information you give on this forum.

Please I had a successful interview on the 31st December in Abuja hoping to travel hopefully by this weekend but my visa status still reads my passport is still with US embassy/Consulate. I know it takes 2-3 working days to be out and today is the 3rd day and the status is still same. Please I know it's more like a technical question but how soon do you think visa can be issued even in the event of technical problems or holiday.

Thank you in anticipation.

Hello Sir/Ma,

Is there anyway I can fast track my Visa renewal via Dropbox? I visited home for the Christmas break, and only had a 14-day window to be at home. The several holidays prevented me from submitting my documents on time. My flight back to the US is scheduled for tomorrow. I have checked my passport status and it states that it is still at the US consulate. Is there anything I can do to be able to return as scheduled?

Thank you.

Hello siniratu,

Your rendering of events is not accurate. This is not what happened. It is not right for you to mislead Nairalanders about the nature of your experience.

Unless you were told otherwise, you are allowed to apply again.

In the future, please plan ahead. If you are on an F, M, or H visa you can email the embassy or consulate to inform them of the situation. Nothing can be guaranteed.

Hello Sir,

Pls, don't be annoyed with my questions so far. I just want to be very sure before i make this payments.
A company in USA offered me a job recently, and I want to ask:
(1).Am I to pay for the visa processing fees, or
(2).Is it the responsibility of my employer to process the visa for me, including the payments?

NB:I have the employment recommendation letter, and the human resource pesonnel is asking me to be fast with the
visa applications.

Thanks.

hello @abujaniv,
My family applied for a medical visa (B2), and got a B1/B2 Visa. I traveled for that purpose and paid all medical bills completely. We intend to go on a family vacation soon. Do we need to notify the embassy of our intent to use same visa (valid till jan 2017) for vacation ?

Thank you.
