Thanks alot Nerf, will do that on my next trip. N pls which of the cargo companies did you use.

No secret o!

Travelex at MMIA usually has dirhams. Av always bought from them when going to dubai to avoid losing twice due to cross exchange but nowadays that things are one kind, you can call in advance to know if they have.

Some other BDCs also have dirhams, just ask

From Chicago? The company even get name sef? It's owned by a friend of a friend so I patronised them. Sincerely I don't even know the name. They came to pick up the stuff and 10 weeks later they brought it to my house. I don't know their address sef. Only have their phone numbers

Moneygram is still available but that one gets exhausted quickly. You either book a day before if you know someone at the branch ready to send for the next day or u try to be the first outbound transfer customers for the day.

Even Houston, Texas hasn't been scratched because sisters and bros are not willing to research. I only hear a few stretched doctors for Oakbend and WHMC.

E-Friends,

1. If you have access to Nairaland then luckily, you have access to Google. Quietly visit the websites of WHMC, Oakbend, HNMC etc that people have told us their Hospital fees are pretty straightforward and pocket friendly.

2. Go to the Hospital Website, Select or Search for OBGYNs that are affiliated to that hospital
3. Get the phone numbers of their practice. Honestly, you won't spend 3000 naira on phone cards before you have one, two, three doctors that are ready to send you correspondence via mail, appointment via mail and detailed breakdown of the Obgyn fees and other birth related fees.

In my case,
Appointment 1 - over the phone, then told the lady i spoke with to send an appointment confirmation through email. They were also willing to confirm all the estimates in the mail

Appointment 2 - I was told to log in to their patient portal and register. I did and the confirmation was sent to my mail.

Both were presented at POE to show the billing estimates I heard. In actual fact both Drs haven't been mentioned on this thread and the prices are within the popular range we see on this thread.

Caveat - please don't bother to send PMs as i am not good at replying them because of my busy schedule.

However if Justwise will permit, I will share a few docs names (use google to get their numbers) that i got their contacts during my search. Remember the time difference when you start to call their offices, tell them you're self pay, ask them if they can correspond with you via e-mail.

HNMC - Alaniz, Hulme, Duong, Fulton, Xydas, Ross, Campbell, Nguyen, Ndofor, Stern etc

WHMC - Amaro, Huynh, Sayegh, Scheiber, Torres, Vu, Webb, Rizk etc

Oakbend - Kelli, Lorelei, Sabina, Abumeze, Bruce, Heaps, Hobson, Sarah, Yury, Kesha, Lauren, Douglas, Dama Z

Please don't because it will do more harm than good, though your intention is a good one.

I sense a panic in u that will not be to your good. When u start obsessing about lil things, u get stressed and that dosent help u.
If I'm not mistaken, u are ok with the dr's letter. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.
Whose address is the same as that on the statement? People open accounts and move. Trust me, if the vo wants to verify u are the account owner, e no hard. That one no be issue. But if ur mind never settle, go and do account update na. So ur mind can be cool wen u de enter the interview.

Thank you very much husband even said it's okay but I'm just trying to get everything right once and for all so I won't be denied visa because of an avoidable mistake. I apreciate.

Chai this thread has reached part three....

To God be the glory I had my baby girl at Northside Hospital( yeah I know Atlanta is not a favorite destination but I must still drop my comments) she turned three months yesterday grin grin

Dear future Atlanta bound mamas the $3,550 hospital fee for a two day stay is only an estimate as stated in the letter you get from price.estimate email. Hmmmm..
I refused to fall into labor normally oh at 40+ weeks and doctor told me cervix was closed and high up. To summarize the dramatic story I ended up going in for induction and ended up spending a total of $5,410 for hospital bill only (after discount) for three days stay since I ended up being induced and it was only successful at the THIRD attempt. Infact i discharged myself after day 3.( grin grin) So long story short if u are headed to that hospital hold vex money oh hmmm. but I must confess the hospital is FANTASTIC, the services and CARE are oh la la. plus the freebies. upon the gbese I incurred I MAY use them again sha for baby nos 2.

Hello All,

God bless all the mama's and papa's in the house for sharing great information.
Please does anyone have info as regards affordable hospitals in New York? Has anyone used(or know someone) that has used Nassau university hospital or Winthrop hospital? it has been difficult getting across to these hospitals to have an idea on their delivery cost. I have contacted some doctors and they say they use these hospitals but they can only give quote for their own services and i have to get the hospital fees myself.

Please help.

I am not sure if I have seen anything about the hospital. Google their number, call them and ask to be transfered to admissions. They will give you your bills there. As per other hospitals in New York, I am very confident you didn't read the previous threads. Make your phone your friend and read anywhere you find some break. It will help you ALOT!!

cheers

Hi Mimibe , read through older posts and saw that you rented an apartment while in Atlanta to have your baby. Please how did you go about it? Could you rent directly or did someone living there help you out as pay rent via them, payments et al. Thanks
