Rivers And Edo States Gubernatorial Elections: How Many Re-runs Can Be Enough Be by tomakint: 11:00pm On Jan 09, 2016 |
The hues and cries about the anticipated Bayelsa Gubernatorial Election is in its concluding part as at today, 9th (Saturday), January, 2016, after the journey began in December 5, 2015 with much electoral violence that led to few deaths, ballot boxes snatching and all that. Bayelsa State, a South-south State with the smallest local government areas couldn't boast of conclusive elections on its fix date of Dec. 5th and I wondered now that if two hotspot States, Rivers and Edo are warming up for their own Gubernatorial elections in the coming weeks, how many RE-RUNS ARE WE GOING TO SEE TO HAVE CONCLUSIVE ELECTIONS in these two volatile States? Your Opinions fellas..... Cc: Phockphockman, truckpusher, MizMyColi, tonyebarcanista, IsraeliAirforce, datolee, PRYCE, biafranqueen, Sunnyb0b0, etc |

Oga mi Tomakint... We are in a boat whose captain's navigating with a broken compass! It's a shame that a government that rode on a mantra of change are proving themselves to be the problem. They keep accusing the PDP of lots and lots of things like destroying our institutions and other B.S but I keep wondering on which institutions they forming their own government! They said GEJ milked our economy dry but they had funds for their unappropriated spending called Bailout and the funds to form the multinational joint task force. At least, the PDP organised Two general elections that got global applause which means PDP left INEC independent.... Can't say thesame for this government. During The PDP's reign we didn't have queues spanning at least two months, there wasn't outright disregard for the judiciary, there wasn't illegal detentions like we seeing today and many others! It's Pathetic!!! 4 Likes 1 Share |

Contrary to general beliefs especially from people who cannot think outside of the box, the correct thing is being done now, when elections improperly conducted or conducted in violent conditions are cancelled or postponed. If it was in the past, one would just find a situation where the ruling party just ignores all of the misconducts and irregularities in the áreas and allocates votes for itself there. That's when we heard PDP 1 million, other parties 50,000 after 6 hours of an election or even before an election is concluded. I think it's better now, better to postpone elections in affected áreas than manipulate and claim everything was right. In the past such troubled elections were seen as the perfect opportunity to rig and manifacture votes. Kudos PMB. 1 Like 1 Share |

PRYCE: Why do you clowns think Nigerians suffer from amnesia? We had an even worse fuel scarcity in May 2015 under PDP, with banks even closing their doors. We had a thoroughly compromised judiciary and efcc prosecution. We had the DSS openly being partisan. We had opposition leaders being detained illegally. Remember when Lai Mohammed was arrested for 'wandering' ? Don't think Nigerians have forgotten. PDP will NEVER smell power again at the center. And if you think Nigerians miss GEJ, ask him to pick presidential form for 2019 and see if he will even pass the primaries stage now he doesn't have the Presidential might behind him. |

tuale4u: Each time you buy fuel at the OFFICIAL price of N86.50 you are PAYING your own government subsidy. According to Fashola, Tam David-West fuel should have been sold at N35 when the crude price was about $100.

Even worse, why should anyone be happy to PAY subsidy to his own government that has not completely and fully DEREGULATED the sector? Why should we be so FOOLISH www.nairaland.com/attachments/3084794_DumbPeople_jpg287f2b4d3ead2f536f99f92cbca9c590 |

NextGovernor:it's just simple lógic which hurts you to agree with. Bayelsa millitants decide to go on a shooting spree and then you who is not myopic blames buhari for that. If it was during Jonathan pdp would just declare 500,000 votes in those affected áreas and mumus like you will be happy. |

anonimi:Bros election violence has all been in the system. Right from the June 12, 1993 mko election. Election violence is like an insurgency, like guerella warefare, it cannot be eliminated. The difference is that while Jonathan and the PDP capitalized on election violence to rig and multiply votes, Buhari's regime has taken the option of cancelling such dirty elections and doing re-runs instead. Which is better for democracy? Tell me. |

ddippset: Stop telling LIES and trying to twist the facts about our democracy, okay How many states were won by the opposition under Jonathan without any re-run? How many under Buhari? Who said baboons and monkey will be soaked in blood if he looses election in 2011 and the almajiris delivered on his demonic promise? Who said his political ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian and delivered on his promise in 2015? Thanks. www.nairaland.com/attachments/2027919_image_jpeg9f360c5ab7736510df54c882e9dbf188 As for rigging, the master riggers are ACN/CPC/APC going by their records. Don't be DECEIVED.
