Both of them believe in the Christian God because they were indoctrinated with the idea since childhood. If they were born in Iran they would have been Shia Muslims. If in Sri Lanka they would have been Hindus. Childhood indoctrination is the reason why they believe in the Christian God idea and not the Muslim or Hindu God idea.

I wrote that my unbelief is connected to the fact that I couldn't be led to believe something that is so hard to believe. If I saw a ghost and it spoke to me, I would believe. But Christians around me want me to believe in the existence of God by faith alone.

How can I believe in a God that will burn people in hell forever? How can I believe in a God that could create a complex world in 6 days and yet can't forgive the sin of disobedience except through human sacrifice? How can a God make mistakes, how can a God be insecure, how can a God want attention all the time? That God looks human to me. He looks like what a human being created? How can I have the sort of faith you have to believe in a God that has human nature?

I know good from bad because, you don't need religion to be moral, rather its religion that's needs good to be moral.
You were born innately knowing morality because when you hurt me and I cry, you would feel bad so its in you, you can't be taught that. Another example is, Nobody ever told you not to kill your mom, you innately know if you kill your mom you would miss her forever so you even protect her for external dangers. Is that taught in church? No, its part of you.

So you see, its religion that needs morality to operate that why you hear you church having to preach morality every sunday.

Atheist like me don't morality cus I know Good from bad, Christians, Muslims etc are all in jail for religions crime and all but it has NEVER EVER been reported that an atheist is jailed.
