This is not between wailing wailers and lying lairs, it is a matter of government's ability to keep running. Without a budget, we will witness a very first Government Shutdown.... It happened in the US sometime ago. Dunno how it works here |

The Health Minister says the budget he submitted to the Presidency is different from the budget at the NASS but somehow APC want us to believe civil servants are to blame? I should like to think the Civil Servants would have done their work before the Minister accepted the budget and submitted to Presidency? Which civil servants are they trying to blame now? |

Teddeebear: Is something wrong with you or were you just born rude and uncouth ? You are the one who is disgusting with how you cannnot quote others politely and must lead with insults like a frustrated soul. Where is the "blame game" or "lies" in my post? Do you not see where I charge Buhari to accept full responsibility and begin taking 100% control with his own appointments and directives ? It is instructive that nairaland APC supporters are already critically appraising Buhari, after 8 months in office, and concluding his effort is not good enough in some regards. This is very different to GEJ fans who watched him destroy Nigeria for 5 years yet clannishly and zealously demanded he get 4 more years in charge while they totally ignored the glaring misrule and looting under Jonathan. It is obvious APC fans mean well for Nigeria and are always ready to look beyond the individual, i.e PMB in this case, to support what is right while Jonathan fans know no better than to shout "GEJ till 2080" up and down like mindless zombies. I personally still believe in PMB but I think he must now take firmer control of activities in every sector under him and he must take his oversight duties very, very seriously lest charlatans and self-serving appointees of government destroy the credibility of his government and take Nigeria back to square one in the process. The excuses under GEJ of "good President led astray by bad appointees/advise" will not be tenable under Buhari because the APC is a different animal consisting of people who want the best for Nigeria and not clannish bigots who will support their misruling kinsman blindly via delivering 100% votes for him as reward for said leader taking Nigeria backwards horribly. This is why some of us are urging Buhari to sit up. He is lucky that APC supporters are mainly reasonable and balanced Nigerians seeking the best for their nation and not ethnocentric charlatans who will keep praising him while Nigeria is moving backwards. 4 Likes |

Gbawe:lol, the last time I checked Gej is not interested in Nigerian politics, he has washed his hands off, so that those who claimed that they know it all take over. so i don't know the idea of what you mean by gej supporter. The problem with you guys is simple, you never saw anything good in him, so. pro gej had every right to defend him The idea of thinking that buhari can study the entire budget and supervise effectively.. the all the ministry is not possible. If he tries it he will breakdown. The only reasonable thing is to appoint people he can trust not compensating political party of course, he will step on toes. 1 Like |

arresa: I talk am.....I said it.... the PDP that were allowed to either remain or manoeuvre their way into the presidency and Senate are behind the ruckus. They are specialist in padding bills and contracts as they have been doing for the past 16 years. PMB should weed out these corruptible elements, including those who aligned themselves to the party. PDP have nothing good to offer Nigerians but cancer knowns as "CORRUPTION" !!! It's their forte. |

Jonathan came with oil and gas mafia. now buhari has come with budget mafia. what arrant rubbish spewing from the minds of these old men. does the president find it difficult to take ownership and blame for his corrupt report. can you as the ceo or finance controller of a company of department tell your boss you don't know how the figures in your report came about and you wont be fired on the spot. can you imagine the president of US or Russia or the prime minister of Britain saying the budget he sent to house of commons did not represent his position. busy blaming ghosts and faceless people. Teddeebear: Much better post with a reasonable tone people will respond to rather unlike you previous style based on insulting others needlessly. I agree with you about the part in bold even as I must stress that Buhari still has to raise his awareness of everything going on under the Presidency and he must improve his ability to supervise and oversee the activities of important public officials. This is indeed the point me and Aressa make here. After so much time in office Buhari should have his 'crew' in place so if he fails we blame him squarely. Why entertain the very dangerous situation of leaving 'soiled hands' from the past regime in charge of very important processes and office when PMB should have his own trusted and competent allies, who key into his change and transformation agenda, in place? I can't stand the excuse of claiming bad advisers and appointees misled or undermined "good leaders". A good and competent leader's main strength must be the ability to put round peg in round holes to deliver success. You may not know it but we are saying the same thing. Buhari will not have it easy from APC supporters and he will not be allowed to hide behind "bad" advisers or appointees excuse when we all know he is free to sack and replace them with more competent men and women who will deliver for Nigeria. 2 Likes |

Wailers sef... That budget is the budget of wailers. Their paymasters who are scared of zero budgetting must pay for this. Budget of change loading. those crooks took advantage of the fact that he appointed his ministers about six weeks before the presentation. They were very much aware they got little/no time to scrutinize the draft. But this development would only irk buhari to further beam his searchlight on the civil service. They'd better watch it this time, it would be brutal henceforth. No lie only truth! |

No need defending the indefensible. The budget is a fraud, an exercise of daylight robbery, an unmitigated embarrassment and Buhari must take FULL responsibility. First the case of the missing budget, then the allegations of substitutions, then lately the health minister, in a most embarrassingly stomach-wrenching moment conceivable, claiming the budget he saw wasn't his. PMB, you owe we your supporters an apology. However, attempts by pro-GEJ folks to make cheap gains is nauseating. Didn't you guys consider it curious that last year the money spent on purchase of books last year was N7m for the VP office, almost double that for this year? Are you guys aware house rent issue was part of 2014 and 2015 budget? There is clearly something seriously and fundamentally flawed with our budgeting process. PMB should do the needful asap. |
