It was worse back in the day. Shoyinka and Achebe were two highly intellectual individuals who knew better, so they don't count. Educaction and exposure makes you think rationally. The majority of Nigerians were mostly illiterates and the mistrust, especially between the Yorubas and Igbos, was deep. The average igbo man blamed their loss of the war on the yorubas.

Woahhh.....i've never analyzed it this way everybody is always blaming the north, but other tribes have also had an equal share of power and they did absolutely nothing with it.....a round of a plus for this gentleman

Really? I've never seen anyone lost sense with reality as this. Are you talking about same Soyinka and Achebe we all know? Achebe I know died trying hard to make himself recognised. It is on record that he was the only African writer that didn't offer as much as a congratulatory message to Soyinka when he won the Nobel prize. In one word, he died of envy!
"Father of African literature", what mangoe tree award is that? This Igbo people sha, always the same and so shall ever be. The same way they are going about getting Jonathan "international recognition". I laugh in Chinese

In all the days of Nigeria's independence, that Hausa have not done any figured than their Nigerian brethren in the Nigerian story, the antics of GEJ over 5 years more than squared off the Abacha period. Loot for loot
