What if Rule 21 were to be enforced by Moderators? No one has ever got the stick for breaking that rule yet. I suspect rule 21 is more of an advisory and preferential imploration to grace posts with standard English than the need to keep nuisance out of threads. But still, Some Nairalanders have taken the pain and effort to write in an enthralling manner with certain panache and precision. Their literary efforts and phraseology draped in all shades of styles are as different as their personalities. These nairalanders either have the innateness to write in an attention-grabbing way or they slogged to develop their writing proficiency which often entertains me more than the message they seek to convey. I have selected 10 nairlanders whose pennings have served and entertained my mental perceptions for the entire duration of my nairaland stay. I beleive good writing is a mark of superior breeding and peerage . I should point that their entire posts/threads are not without some gramatical blemish (As are mine or anyone else's) which is to be expected given the nature associated with writing on an online platform like this; most posts are done on mobile gadgets in between daily routine of work or studies, and always with swinging epinephrine and emotional reflections. There is little moment for proof-reading and even less for aloofness in critical appraisals for grammatical marrings. Seasoned, professional writers have the time of luxury and materials to have their scriptings error-proofed either by themselves or professionals. No such luxury is availed a nairalander who writes post and threads in real-time and often with emotional attachments. The top 10 phrasemakers in my subjective conclusion to have graced Nairaland in recents times are --- in the order of hierarchy: 1.. TV01 . ( Rich in clever placement of everyday words and has a varied stock of simple and sophisticated vocabulary) 2.. TheSonofmark (Word-generator, clever use of compound words in depicting situations) 3... Mizmycoli ( good narrator and logical in composition) 4... Ishilove ( prudish and sanctimonious but a good writer still) 5.... Mindfulness ( philosophically to the left but a a brillaint wordsmith, argumenta- tive still) 6..... Tonyebacarnista ( A prose specialist) 7...... 8..... 9...... 10...... There are a couple of Moderators who actually deserve the cut, but I do not want to expose this thread to the risk of being perceived as an attempt to kiss up to any moderator, especially after being the subject of many bans I consider ridiculous. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Ishilove:and coldly dismissive in a condescending fashion. Your intelligence should make you comely and endearing, not a put off in a chesty manner |
Re: The Top 10 Nairaland's Phrasemakers In Recent Times by Ishilove: 3:06pm On Feb 12, 2016 |
lezz:I'm 'coldly dismissive' only when the situation calls for chilly dismissal. On Nairaland that's inevitable |
Re: The Top 10 Nairaland's Phrasemakers In Recent Times by lezz(m): 3:33pm On Feb 12, 2016 |
Ishilove:Yes, in nairaland, there's no getting around that one; there are many situations that warrant the cold dismissal but they tend to make it your default approach over time, I'm afraid. It mired your charms in the mud. |

You have an interesting OP despite the subjectivity of the topic. What criteria did you use to generate the list of the "phrasemakers"? Was it the content of their posts? The length of their posts? Whether they used big words? 1 Like |

FTBOY:I thought hard and long about it, brother. But I just wanted to be unbiased and objective. There's another in that list whose personality online rubs me off in the wrong way too, but I just had to credit her, that's why I made her shortcomings as a foot note. |

I like ishilove, she sanitized Nairaland , i miss her. She wasn't intimidated by anyone. when she bans you, you can cry to high heaven for all she cares, we should have more of such fearless mods around Back to the matter, Op needs to take number one spot, he is one of the best around here, my 2KOBO opinion. 4 Likes |

firstEVA: I smell lies and sycophancy. She did not sanitize nairaland and many of her bans were unjustified. The romance section is not the whole nairaland. Btw, yes I agree that the op could take the number one spot |

lezz:yeah, but she's overrated here....... giving her the 4th position...come on! she doesn't deserve it one bit! there are better writers on nairaland.....especially in politics section like passingshot, omenka, joseph1832, snailspeed, sirshymmex (that guy invents new words every time, LOL!) and anangboy (he writes with swag). WTF is ishilove....LMAO! 4 Likes |

JackBizzle:If i want to lick ass, not hers. When you call her, she is there immediately unlike what we have today. she did her job to the latter like she was paid in cash and kind, even though there were little lapses here and there, that's just her imperfection coming to play. So i tell no lies mr man. 2 Likes |

lezz: Hmmm! I see you took my advice on number ( ), since you considered leaving out the occupier for holding a view contrary to yours. If you had done like you threatened , I would have come after you with my stick. By the way, you came up to my thread, had a passing glance and went as quietly as you came. If you ain't gonna comment on my thread, then don't visit. @ishilove, you seem to act out the very adjectives the OP qualified you with. By the way, you re not the person in the empty bracket. |

firstEVA: Okay, now you are making sense. It is very true that she is responsive. She seems to always be online on nairaland. I will praise her for that one. However, she maltreated a lot of people as a supermod. There are places she can't show face on nairaland. |

FTBOY:Lolz, then an update will be introduced. I seldom visit the political section so I'm not so acquainted with the aforementioned guys. But I'll do a wider survey next time. Firsteva was pointing me to the political section but I guess I failed to concur with her. But I'm certain of number 1 and 2 in the list through. |
