If you are to purchase a cloth from possible 5 places and the worth of the transaction is 50 naira what will you tell people if you are asked. Sometime i wonder why most people choose to live in this delusive sit of i sabi pass you. Calm down you will see nothing is wrong with that statement of $5 billion. It means the expected transaction in nigeria. Bring up some more things that made you to term people liars so that we can iron it out once and for all, at least it will help us look at things without hatred, bitterness and anger.

The export is valued at over $5.2 billion annually. ABX World is an EU certified (EUC) cargo agent, and Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) “Authorised Cargo Agent”. Obiano Speaking on the development, Anambra State Commissioner for Agriculture, Honourable Afam Mbanefo, said that the government’s penchant for agricultural development was to eliminate poverty, create job and improve the internally generated revenue (IGR) of the state.

According to Mbanefo, “As a people oriented administration, Governor Willie Obiano has always sought for ways to create security, create good road network, create night life; these are things that will get people involve, bring in investors and tourism. Now, the agro-allied export is another testament to the Government unrelenting efforts to ensure Anambra State farmers do not lack market to sell their products. “It is very imperative to note that before commencing the exports, the farmers through their cooperative societies received training and certification.

In other words, we are confident that these products like pumpkin leaf (Ugu), and others will meet the market standard. As a government we are happy about this new development and we are thankful to other facilitators like ABX World,” the Commissioner said. For instance, the State has over 1400 corporative societies and they have gone to the extent of training most of the farmers and also the certification of the corporative societies. “The next step was the geo-mapping of the area for easy identification of the farmlands from any part of the world.

This is a sure step to curb the incessant rejection of agro-allied produce from Nigeria at the European and the rest of the world markets. “The EU certified trainers were in Nigeria about three months ago. So, after that training and certification programme, the participants are guaranteed of three years contract to supply agro-allied produce to Europe and can use it for the rest part of the world. He said that ABX World will use its partnerships around the world to make a difference, “create agricultural revolution whereby we bring in the off-takers to take agricultural products as long as they meet the international standard and requirements”.

All hope is not lost yet. This innovation in Anambra state may just be the catalyst to rouse other states from their slumber.

If you count at all the stores in Europe that carry and sell African Food and Produce in retail, they run into millions, if you add all the African Restaurants join.
Do you people think only Nigerians eat Ugu? Get some sense my people. If Nigerians boycott Ugu it will still sell. Jealousy has eaten deep into you. Whether you like or not my Governor has made me proud and I hope next Governor after Obiano double output and include everywhere in Asia and America. [b]The Dangote Group, yesterday launched 20,000 hectare rice production scheme, aimed at making the country self-sufficient in rice production and food secure by the year 2018.

Speaking at the flagging-off of the scheme at Hago Fadama kafin-Hausa local government area of the state, the state governor Alhaji Badaru Abubakar Badaru said, the project was part of his government’s commitment to improve agriculture and industrialise the state for job creation and poverty eradication.

“Right from my inaugural speech, I made it clear that, agriculture was one of my government cardinal points and we are ready to collaborate with private investors in achieving the desire goals. The project we are launching today is one of the numerous projects we intend to embark in collaboration with private investors from within and outside the country, and we have already signed memorandum with many of them,” the governor said.

The governor assured Dangote Group of the state government’s support in making any policy and intervention that will make the investment profitable and generate jobs to the teeming population of the state.

Speaking at the occasion, the minister of state for agriculture Mr Heineken Lokpobiri said the federal government was worried over the production gap it has in rice and the millions of dollars spent annually on its importation despite having vast arable land that can make Nigerians rice exporters if properly utilized.

He disclosed that presently the country needs 6.8 million metric tons of rice annually for consumption, but that “we are locally producing only 2.6 million metric tons. In view of this, the federal government has come up with plan to encourage massive investment in rice production and agricultural sector in general to end rice importation by the year 2018,” he said.

In his remarks, the president, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, said his company targeted 120,000 hectares for rice production across the country by the year 2020.

He said the Jigawa rice scheme targets 20,000 hectares in which the out growers will produce 8,000 hectares while the company will cultivate 12,000 hectares.

According to him, the project will provide direct job opportunities to over 10,000 youths in addition to food security and internally generated income to the state government.

He expressed appreciation to the Hadejia Emirate Traditional Rulers, the Jigawa State government and federal government for the support given to the company, and also called for more policy and incentives that would create more enabling environment and encourage private sector investment in to the sector.[/b]

From all indications, Nigerians are likely going to rise up against the clueless and incompetent Buhari regime before the end of 2016... It will be easier for Dakuku Peterside to become River state governor in 2016 than for Buhari to complete his 4-year tenure. Just like what happened in 1985, I believe he will be kicked out again.
