Hello house, @justwise, can you please clarify these for me. i am planning on travelling with my sis to london in Dec. As part of our visa application, we need to book our accommodation and we plan on staying in the same hotel room. My first question is can i make an hotel reservation using both our names and secondly, after we get our visa, is it possible for us to cancel our hotel reservation ad book another one.
Thanks
the answer, in my candid opinion should be YES because their schools are a temporal place. They will still come back home to meet you once they're done with their studies or during holidays. Cheers

I had no issues with financials, but transcripts issue is resolved. On the other hand, my Dad told me to inquire about affordable universities in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and London. I have to feed him back ASAP. Thanks

Varying universities are better at certain Msc programs than others.

made a terrible mistake while filling the online application form for an underage. instead of putting the travel date as 15 july -13 august. I mistakenly put it as 15june - 13 july. already submitted online but not yet submitted at the embassy. pls what can i do. @justwise and other bosses.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by diamondsare4eva: 9:04pm On May 15, 2016
If you have not paid, start a new application and make the correction but if you have paid the app fee, just attach a note to let the ECO know it's a mistake

Correct the mistake on the printout and make a note of it for the ECO

this is nothing to panic about. It had happened to me severally. Let me make this point clear to you...everybody makes mistakes, including the ECO . I've heard of cases where applicants' documents got mixed-up...where applicant 'A' was sent documents belonging to applicant 'B' by the ECOs. They often commit typographical errors on the names printed on visa stickers, etc. You don't have to entertain any fear at all. You can do either of these(or both, to be on a safe side). Since you've not submitted your physical application yet, you may do a letter and address it to the ECO, mentioning the mistakes and have it corrected, then include it in the documents you're submitting with your application. Secondly, send them an email and explain in just 2 lines. It's amazing to note that these guys, no matter how busy they are, always read emails promptly. One thing is certain...they will give your case a prompt attention. Please don't expect any acknowledgement from them via email because you might end up waiting forever for it, as they may never respond. But that doesn't mean they won't give your case the prompt attention it deserves. They know if they respond, you might want to send another email back to them, even after assuring you that your case will be treated...we nigerians abuse this a lot. If they need any information from you, based on the application you've submitted, they may call or email you. I've been called before, (emailed too) to clarify some vague areas. The most recent encounter I had with them was on our Tax Clearance Certificate. I submitted the most recent one and I received an email that I should clarify why our certificate carries a logo different from the usual logo. I never believed they could notice and email me on such a minor thing. They said that's why my application was delayed and they'll get back to me as soon as they're done with their findings...hahaha. Of course, FIRS has changed their logo and this is one of the areas the ECO now detects the fake TCC. I simply asked them to call the FIRS office to verify the new logo and also visit FIRS website for details. The following day, I received their usual generic 'but harsh' email, that a decision had been made and bla, bla, bla. TLS sent their email a day after, that I should come for collection and I met a multiple visa on my passport. Please don't panic. I had also made mistakes on important dates before. I discovered this after I had submitted the physical documents at the visa processing centre. I emailed them same day so they could be aware before my application got treated. I eventually I got the visa. In 2014, I travelled to Hungary for a business-related training. When I came back, I applied to UK. In my usual habit, I'd prepared a board resolution in which I stated the amount that would be disbursed as PTA for my trip, with our company seal in error. I was so busy that I couldn't have my admin officer edit the board resolution copy which I used for the Hungarian embassy in abuja. I simply asked that the copy be sent to me by email for editing so I could print out the letter myself and have it sealed. I only edited the date and embassy address, printed the board resolution with the title....'Board Resolution on Disbursement of xyz amount to Mr ABC for his Hungarian Trip'(instead of UK Trip). I discovered this after I had submitted all the documents and made a u-turn back to the office. Another blunder discovered on the online application form was the amount, which I claimed I spent monthly out of my salary. I omitted 2 Zero digits. I quickly wrote them an email and told them I filled-in the figure on the application form in a hurry and it was quite unlike me as my schedule had been busy lately. My passport came back to me with a visa. I prayed about it too...please don't leave this out too. Prayer is very important. All the best!

please don't try to use a pen or any ink to alter or correct the information filled in your online application form in error. Simply write a letter to them as advised in my long explanation earlier in this forum. Cheers

I will advise you to use an highlighter pen to show the error and explain to the ECO, crossing it with a black pen doesn't change the information you submitted and know that the ECO will look at the application submitted to the office and the one filled online. I don't think this is a major problem or what you should worry about.

Yes, please. That should suffice, instead of altering or correcting the mistake with an ink or pen on the form. Writing them looks more reasonable. But please point out the mistake clearly as appeared on the form and indicate the correct date. Good luck!

For one of the schools, the total is 11,000pounds..so the condition is that i pay 50% first installment. The second school is 12,068pounds and the condition is that i pay 1/3 of the tuition in three installments. So i want to know how best to make tuition payments.

That's alright. Whichever fee option you intend to go for, it's achievable, especially if you're scared of the ever-increasing rate of forex at the local market(BDCs). My cousin had the same issue but got it resolved, after adopting the following options: option one, he informed his school of the forex issues in nigeria and asked if he could split the payment, using mastercard and the school said yes! But no receipt will be issued until after the agreed payment was received. He had 2 different masterards...one for current acct and the other for savings, which he obtained from a single bank. His tuition package was 11,670pounds and he was asked to pay 50% in advance. He split the 50% in 4 places as he wasn't permitted to spend more than 2kUSD or its equivalent, monthly online with his card(being the new and upward reviewed rule by CBN),the card was issued by a particular bank with orange logo(I decline to mention the name so I doesn't sound like I'm advertising them and for security reasons...so I don't also get banned by my friend who owns this website, lol). He paid with each card. I helped him pay the balance of the 50% with my cards after he approached me. You may also do this by asking a close relation you can trust, who also has a naira MC, to help you. You can even pay everything within one week. He transferred money into his 2 Ms Cards which he used to do the online payment. Please if you don't trust any relation, meet with your parents or any of your siblings to help you do this. Secondly, if you have siblings or close but trusted relations resident in the UK or USA, you should be dancing skelewu by now because this option will leave enough change in your account, after all is paid. It could be stressful though. Go to any first bank early momo(as early as 6am) and tell the security guy that you want to send money by western Union. They will give you a number or recognise you as the first customer because: first bank can't transfer more than 750USD in a day....and you cannot send more than 750USD in a quarter(i.e 3 months),by WU as well. If you succeed, tell your friend to go to the same branch and help you out the following day to send 750USD to any of your relations in the aforementioned countries. Remember you must get to the bank early enough, in order to take advantage of WU transfer. If you meet someone else, that means you can't do anything until the following day because he will sweep every slot for that day, which is 750USD or its equivalent. Repeat the same process by bringing different people to the bank to help you send money via same channel. The process is cumbersome but a lot cheaper. Your relation would go to WU outlet to claim the money and once it's complete, will pay the money on your behalf. If you're submitting your application soon, this process might not be too good for you cos of the time frame. You may adopt the Ms card option. Cheers

The WU rate used to be 218 with their charges, until end of April this year. Presently, it's 253 naira to a dollar. If you're making payment with your card, I think you'll be charged at 299 naira. Yes...it's 750USD per day/per person/per quarter and per bank. I've not bought usd in the last 2 weeks so, I'm not sure what the current rate would be but I'm sure it will be more than 240usd.

Meehhhnnn this one no clear me oooo. How about this other method: Can one go to his bank and request for Form A then the tuition can be paid directly to the school? Is that possible?

I dabbled into this piece with a keen interest. Congrats! I picked up my business visa as well in the past week, on the 12th may to be precise. I received their usual generic email message on the 10th of may which was the same date my visa was issued, according to the date indicated on my visa. On Thursday morning, I received an email from TLS that my document package was ready for pick up. I was issued a multiple visa too. It's amazing to see that their online visa application portal has changed completely. This new portal is more comprehensive and user-friendly than the old one. If you applied from the 20th of April upward, you must have filled-in the new online form. By the way, if you're looking for a cheap flight, I advise you try air maroc. It's about the cheapest of all. That's the airline I normally book my staff on. I'm a regular flyer of Air France but it's not cheap especially if you're not on their regular flyer programme. I wish you a successful training in the uk and pleaseeeee, come back home afterwards! There are opportunities here. Cheers]

you're most welcome! Enjoy your stay in Istanbul. Amazingly, with the uk multiple entry visa on your passport, you don't need to queue for a Turkish visa in abuja. They'll simply give you a visa on arrival at the airport, hope you know this. Please prepare for the appropriate visa fees upon arrival in atatuk airport. Cheers!
