Another example of talking before thinking. PostUme was set up by a law, and can only be stopped after wide consultations between NASS and the respective tertiary institutions. This government is clueless, unintelligent and useless. ASUU strike loading.

My brother Post-UME is never backed by law or any Act.
Stop displaying your ignorance and be civil for once!

I will rather scrap JAMB and leave post UME. With post UME student can take several institution examinations. What government need is just a coordinating body that ensure one candidate per slot. that is if you are giving admission by more than one school, the body send a message to the candidate to pick out of the choices and provide the available slots to the next student.

Some of you just come to the internet to say rubbish. What act of the NASS or that of any state's house of assembly set up post-UTME?

Nyc move 4rm FG...!
Re: FG Scraps Post-ume by Bonjelomo: 4:23pm On Jun 02, 2016
We are getting there little by little.

One more thing remaining: supplementary admission should be ended!

Poor smart kids will study so hard to score 260 and the university authority will put the cut off at 270. Only 10 students will be admitted on merit....at the end of the day, 200 students will be matriculated!

Where did d remaining 190 students come from? Yes, relatives of lecturers and children of rich men, who can afford to buy admission!

A recent secret survey revealed that about 97 percent of the students admitted into colleges of Medicine in Nigerian universities are either RELATED TO A LECTURER, or has a rich parent.

Good move mr Minister.

As this policy is good esp for my broz and siz seeking for an admission
Note
In my own opinion There will be increased number of intakes and subsequently increased number of graduates
Even with the strict admission setup before
We know how many gradz universities produce without jobs for them
Now it's gonn get more competitive.

The ones that recently graduated sef
Nigeria couldn't even provide the basics for NYSC to start orientation camp
Not to talk of employing them afterwards to put food on their table

We gotta learn to be self-employed afterall
Re: FG Scraps Post-ume by PHIPEX(m): 4:25pm On Jun 02, 2016
People like us got admission because of Post-UME, if they succeed in scrapping it then admission racketeering will be the order of the day.

Post-UME was never a government policy, it was the making of the Universities is their attempt at promoting '' standard'' . This has been resisted on several occasions by government over the years.
