An Eternal Universe : A Proof For God's Existence ? by KingEbukasBlog(m): 9:10pm On Jun 02, 2016
This is just a mixture of various thoughts/views . This is a prelude to the main thread

1. The problem of whether or not the universe had a beginning was a great concern to the German philosopher, Immanuel Kant. He felt there were logical contradictions, or antimonies, either way. If the universe had a beginning, why did it wait an infinite time before it began? He called that the thesis. On the other hand, if the universe had existed for ever, why did it take an infinite time to reach the present stage? He called that the antithesis

2. I am that I am, therefore so was the universe, if you believe in a God or whatever the Supreme Being is, then the universe had no beginning, it always was!, just as God always was! Very difficult for the human mind to comprehend this because we can't conceive of a "no beginning"

3. The Big Bang theory is the prevailing cosmological model for the universe from the earliest known periods through its subsequent large-scale evolution. The model accounts for the fact that the universe expanded from a very high density and high temperature state, and offers a comprehensive explanation for a broad range of phenomena, including the abundance of light elements, the cosmic microwave background, large scale structure and Hubble's Law.

4 Ephesians 4:6 : One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

5. Genesis 1 : 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Bro . Winner01 .. No mind am ... The topic has been on my mind for a long time , what do you think . I think , the beginning addresses time from the creation of heavenly bodies .

Believe in God requires great faith and a lot of trusting in heavenly (leaving the wisdom of Man).

One of my main problems with the idea of a God is the fact that he relies on humans to transmit his words and ideas.

Every argument for God relies on a conjecture of different pieces of subjective evidence. I don't begrudge believers as it makes sense to them but belief in a God especially an Israeli God makes no sense to me. An objective proof is the only thing that can sway me. I

Man cant grasp the concept of eternity. I mean, how could something not have a beginning. Well, since the universe had a beginning, then it and we (humans) were created within the bounds of time. Anything outside time seems beyond our reach. And that is why we need to reach for something beyond the physical to come for it.

But energy is a constituent of the universe and it cannot be created or destroyed . How do you reconcile that ? It is certainly incongruous with a universe that has a beginning .

If sand is a constituent of glass, doesn't it make sense that sand was in existence before glass?

If energy is a constituent of the universe, how is it then conflicting that energy has been in existence before the universe?

The energy in the pre big bang singularity was outside the bounds of time strongly suggesting that this force existed before the creation of the universe i.e predates the universe, and also acts on the univerrse. So energy may have been eternal, and the universe of course had a beginning.

This is one of the many erroneous beliefs of atheism. Trusting in the heavenly does not require a man to deaden his brains. Have you ever sat down just to objectively analyze where the evidence leads?. Thats what some of us did and thats why we believe in a Creator. We arent dumb as you think, most of us are smarter and more intelligent than you guys. As a matter of fact, most of the greatest thinkers, inventors and innovators, including the founder of the scientific method were theists. Only in the atheist mind does atheism equate superior reasoning.

When you follow the evidence where it leads, then you can ask the honest question; "Which is the true God".

The Universe is all of time and space and its contents. The Universe includes planets, natural satellites, minor planets, stars, galaxies, the contents of intergalactic space, the smallest subatomic particles, and all matter and energy - Wikipedia

I had to recheck to be sure I was not out of line . What am trying to say is , what we call universe is simply a collection of energy , matter , space , planets , stars etc . So if energy which is contained in other constituents is eternal , why do we say the universe has a beginning - we are focusing on other constituents

@ KingEbukasBlog Mind blowing things you have just written here. Especially point 1 for me. The thesis and antithesis are actually brilliant questions I've pondered over. The only answer I can give is that an eternal God chose to start the universe at a particular point in time. BTW wrapping the mind around a non-beginning is truly mind boggling.

Thanks bro . We can only wonder as humans . Its funny how "primitive men" could easily fathom a non-beginning when they were "creating God" and the ones here are struggling to understand the nature of God as being eternal

Oh the question, was an honest question .

Energy is just a part of the universe , if everyother part of the universe ends except energy, I don't it will be right to say the universe as we know it is still in existence.

For example, energy is a constituent of a car as all matter contains energy but a car cannot exist without tyres, engines, chassis and other necessary parts of a car.

This is my opinion, I am not a physicist. Lol!

Lol . God created the universe . The atheists just deny this .

The above as you have stated is a tentative stance , so why are you an atheist ? An agnostic would have been rational

" The universe has a beginning but its not caused by a conscious eternal creator " - this gets me really angry grin

You might need to tell that to your atheist colleagues.

These ones:

Einstein believed in a personal god, he also saw the rationality in reaching for the supernatural.

The biggest contraption in the concept of God is the fallacy of special pleading.

If the the universe actually needs a creator then something/someone /or some people created the creator.

Just declaring that God is the uncreated creator does not make sense without a justification of his eternal characteristics.

The Christian God is eternal because the bible says he is eternal. This assertion is hardly convincing

Exactly bro ! The evidence for a creator is preponderant . The honest question is "which is the true God " . The fallen angels have created and initiated so many false concepts of the creator - false religions - so as to cause confusion in the minds of humans .
