I detest guns, they have done more harm than good especially in America where siblings,parents shoot each other in a fit of rage or accidentally, not risking it in a million years.Back home, we have one but i don't even see it, we had many cases of kidnaps that period so we needed it and security guards.

I have an alarm system, i travel a lot and sometimes for up to 6 weeks. She didn't hear anything? If someone is breaking my door, trust me i will hear that especially in the dead of the night.

To be honest I am not scared at all and in the back of my mind I just know that such cant happen

Hubby wasn't around
3 Eastern European men with balaclavas broke in and started pushing her around and shouting at her asking for her gold and money
They frog marched her into every room and they emptied every drawer and every bag
Thank God the Kids slept through it

My SIL was burgled last year and they were not even home she slept in a hotel for like a week cos she said she felt violated that those horrible people were in her house and going through her stuff. They were even seriously considering moving house( my SIL is very oyinboish ) so I can imagine these one that they were in the house.

There was a similar story in the News yesterday about a woman with 4 children that was killed in Luton and apparently it was also a burglary gone wrong and they were looking for gold/money.

Soo sorry to hear about your friend, I hope she is alright. I can't imagine how terrifying that would have been.

I'm guessing you live in an area with detached /semi detached houses so neighbours would not have heard. I I guess that is the advantage of living in a terraced house. No way someone can break my door down without my neighbours hearing. Heck I can hear my neighbour on the lefts toddler crying in the night.

Please you guys should just invest in a very good alarm system it is very necessary
