I really don't see what's difficult with those questions...have you worked for any of those organisation? Yes or No.

He wanted to know where to classify his NYSC experience in the light of option 2 in the question. Does participating in nysc scheme mean one has worked for government? If so, all nigerian graduates (except those exempted) must fill that they have worked for government even if they served in private sector.

Hello @justwise, @2n2k, @ askari, @whytegirl and nairalanders,
please there is a part in the visa form asking this question:

Tell us about work for the following types of organisation:
1)Armed Forces (including compulsory national or military service)
2)Government (including Public or Civil Administration and compulsory national service)
3)Media organisations
4)Security organisations (including police and private security companies)
5)Judiciary (including work as a judge or magistrate)

For most graduates who have done NYSC, does question No2 apply?

Please your answers.

Guess you've gotten your answer now. Yes, it includes the NYSC programme. If you've done it, click 'yes' and give details in the space provided.

You cannot go to the embassy with a photocopy of your data page for a visa interview.

For your UK visa application, the timing is right and not unusual from my calculation. Today makes it the 13th business day, so expect a decision from today.

That's interesting. I never thought of it that way. I always put no. Assumed it meant compulsory military service the way they have it in Israel and Australia.

People can get away with saying No because at certain age you don't have to attend NYSC.

Hi guys. I'd like to find out about visa for Plab 2 in the UK. I learnt its NOW standard visitors visa, how true is this?
Then can one include the period of study and practicals for the exam in the period of stay. There is a place i saw in the guidlines that suggested not to and the period of study should not be included, please i just need clarifications, I want to find out from those that have gotten the visa before.
I'd like to know how long they applied to stay.
About how much should i save up in my account.

It's now under standard visitors visa sort of, as a subcategory(PLAB/Clinical attachment). By study and practicals, I believe u r attending a course prior to d exams. U can mention it in ur application, many people did and got their visas. U can apply for only 6months stay.
About your account, u just have to be honest with yourself and the embassy. If you earn a good salary that has accumulated for a while(no huge deposits without sources) and ur balance is healthy i.e u can comfortably finance ur trip, then sponsor urself,if not I ll advise u to get a sponsor(that depends on how healthy ur account is).

1. Can I state that i would share costs with the sponsor in my application. Like the sponsor pays for somethings while I pay for some.

2. Does the payment for the plab2 exam have to reflect from my account.

Yea sure u can state the amount ur sponsor is giving u.U ll need d persons statement of acct(which has to be healthy),business/work details(to demonstrate how dey make deir money)
Payment doesn't hv to reflect in ur account but it might be a plus.

Give brief details of all three refusals.

It is not about your closing balance. You must satisfy the entry clearance officer that you have sufficient personal and economic circumstances in your home country.

Your employment and income will be a major consideration in granting your visa. So many factors will be consider in reaching a decision. If you're employed, a letter from your employer on company headed paper detailing your role, salary, length of employment, and leave will earn you some points.

If you're self employed. You may wish to show evidence of your business and incomes from a verifiable source. This includes business documents, invoices, bills of lading, receipts of sales, tax certificates, etc

Thanks
