Baba Justwise this one wey you get our time today halleluyah grin

A note verbal is quite an important document but does it really cure any defect in a study permit application?

Moreso, he doesnt even work with the government; he works with an organisation who processed the note verbal on his behalf. These VOs dont just attach much importance to all the documents submitted by applicants, They have guidelines for reviewing and processing study permit application. They select relevant ones and discountenance others. Dont get me wrong i am not saying a note verbal is irrelevant or unimportant but in this context it seems a bit farfetched.

How does a note verbal expedite his application? we all know that most times when we submit our study permit applications they remain on queue for several weeks before the VOs even review the documents submitted. Until your application is opened, a VO would not know if you added a note verbal or not. Although some applications are attended to randomly. My point is, unless and until your application is opened a VO would ordinarily NOT know which document you submitted be it note verbal. Unless the Note Verbal is not included in his application package but sent directly to cic. More particularly so, he is not an official of the govt, he is not a diplomat, he is not going on an official assignment for the govt; He is simply furthering his studies; The vo may not see any cogent reason why his application should be expedited. Or is he one of those DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDER peeps grin.
Well i have not read the note verbal so i wouldnt know what was stated in it. All am just saying is that it would be advisable for him to first tie loose ends in his application. a note verbal is an addendum.

CIC has expressly stated the ways and means in which you can expedite your application. Its on their webiste.

I HAVE NOT USED A NOTE VERBAL BEFORE NEITHER HAVE I SEEN ANY ONE USED IT BEFORE SO I DONT KNOW TO WHAT EXTENT THESE VOs ATTACH IMPORTANCE TO IT. BUT SINCE YOU ARE CONVINCED THAT THE VO WILL ATTACH IMPORTANCE TO IT THEN BY ALL MEANS SUBMIT IT.
ACTUALLY IT DOESNT HURT YOUR APPLICATION. I WISH SEUNSKILLS BEST OF LUCK grin

I WOULD LOVE IF EGBON JUSTWISE EDUCATES ME FURTHER ON THIS SUBJECT...............WE LEARN EVERYDAY

I was not and still not working for the govt when i first used note verbal but i was living with a family member who is a serving diplomat at that time. My first visa application to US was refused for lack of home tie and the Secretary forgot to add the note verbal to my package we only realized this after leaving the embassy.

It was included in my second application to another embassy and it was successful within 4days. This application was for academic purposes.

All my applications were made outside Nigeria while on posting.

If note verbal is used correctly it does help the application You don't get note verbal from an agent or a friend who works for govt agency or parastatal.

I'm saying this with the believe that seunkills works for an organization who has the right to issue such document.

Boss pls quickly send a mail to Accra CIC...... Informing them of the omission. It is better you tell them before they find out on their own. So they won't delay you on the ground of misrepresentation of facts.

Did you apply online? If so you can send a case enquiry to CIC. Cos it may not be Accra CIC that will be attending to your application. From my observations online route are treated in any canadian visa office.
oh yea ? i can send more info. after submission ? i did paper route. wow let me do that real quick. Thanks a lot.

bro Goodmorning, study leave IS NOT A MUST which many working have gotten their TRV without that.successful ones here can testify to my statement.but i would "consider" STUDY LEAVE LETTER A MUST on the CONDITION of if your intended academic pursuit is useful to an organization and/or intends to elevate your profile in such organization if you have the interest in coming back to such organization, then study leave is advisable.moreover some organizations grant study leave letter if you'v worked for a period of time like say 5yrs and above so it varies between organizations.

Goodday Everyone,

I applied for the GCMS file note.

This was the feedback note on it.

"I note that sponsor is third party. Insufficient evidence of funds reserved for studies in Canada provided. Based on the evidence provided I am not satisfied that applicant has sufficient available funds for tuition and upkeep during first year of studies in Canada. Based on the information provided and explanations provided by the applicant, I am not satified that applicant is a genuine student who intends to complete course of study in Canda. I am also not satified that PA would leave Canada at the end of authroized stay given, in part because of educational and employment history. Application is refused."

House, How can I tackle this??

olaniyisal:

Hello House,

My application was delayed today After Medical Passed status. CIC requested Medical result.

Please note that only the grounds that are checked off apply to the the refusal of your application.
1) have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study
2) have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the costs of transporting yourself and any family members who are accompanying you to and from Canada.

You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including:
1)personal assets and financial status.

Others Reason:
Insufficient evidence of available funds provided for your studies in Canada.

Below is the documents I submitted on April 22nd.

Academic qualifications:
1) Offer and Letter of Admission
2) Letter of Approval of my application for a Certificat d’acceptation du Québec (CAQ) for Studies.
3) Copy of my Transcripts
4) Copy of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Certificate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
5) Copy of National Diploma (ND) certificate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
6) Copy of NECO Results.

Employment:
1) A copy of my employment letter
2) My Resume
3) A copy of my study leave
4) ID Card.

Financial qualifications:
1) Personal Statement of Account balance of N1.7M
2) Letter of Introduction and declaration of sponsorship from Company.
3) Company Statement of Account (Naira Accoount N14M & Dom Acct $250K)
4) Affidavit of Sponsorship from Company
5) My pay slips from October 2015 to March 2016.
6) Reference letter from my bank.
7) Bank reference letter for Company

Other Documents:
1) Completed and signed IMM1294E, IMM5257B_1 and IMM5645E forms.
2) Data page of my international passport.
3) Passport photograph
4) Copy of my Birth Certificate
5) Police Character Certificate.
6) Company Certificate of Incorporation and Registration documents
7) Tax Clearance Certificate for Company
8 Company Board Resolution letter.

How can I resolve this and re-package.

Thanks

It basically means our applications have been received.

It doesn't mean our documents have been reviewed.

Sorry about your delay. Was it clear and obvious to the VO how you arrived at the "Funds Available"? Everything about your finances in the next app must be "idiot-proof" so the VO doesn't have to think too much for things to make sense.

Anything that requires the VO to do mental math can be frustrating and annoying to him/her.

Thanks bro. I really thought I outlined my finances clearly, but according to Mikymiko's link, it seems I shouldn't have multiplied my employer's funding by 2 (i.e for two years).

I understand that if someone is sponsoring me with $x per annum, and my personal finances is $y and already paid grad tuition is $z, my funds available should equal $(x+y+z). I hope I'm correct. In addition, this time I'd specify that my personal finances are for traveling expenses and misc.

Our applications are virtually the same and we both got delayed. There's a trend here.
omooba2015 is advising a change of sponsor. I think that should apply to you as well.

What if someone is using an individual sponsor that doesn't have so much in their personal account except for their corporate account? I have the option of using my boss or my cousin.

At times they wrote rubbish on GCMS note which makes one think if the VO is high or want want bribe, the main reasons are always at the beginning others are just to make the statement long.
From experience I read Architecture and working in a construction company, and the VO said my Educational background and work history are inconsistent with proposed study which is construction management, can a sane person write that.
But the main reason was at the beginning "PA appear to be engaged in proposed study in Canada" as a Project Manager

If someone is refused based on insufficient fund

Is it mandatory for the person make full tuition payment before re-firing or he/she can pay per first part of tuition and include upgraded SOA

@olaniyisal and @bamz you guys reasons for refusal are virtually thesame. in essense i think individual/applicants should just avoid company sponsorship cos 90% who did so never got successful in their TRV. in the issue of personal assets and financial status and according to the GCMS note it is not specifically hammering the assets point but in my own opinion a home tie is required to take place by means of tangible assets.e.g land deed, receipt or survey plan/share certificates of your own etc..

It doesn't hurt to try.

At least it will be on their record that you tried to set the record straight.

It is better to point it out before they figure it out themselves.

Withholding facts is itself a reason for denial. So better act quick because they will definitely find out about your refused US visa and may delay you for lying or misrepresentation.

its not all about paying tuition fees but having a credible sponsorship with good sufficient funds in the VO's eye. if your LOA states payment of tuition as a condition to meet the unconditional offer, then pay or if it specified tuition payment as a condition to secure your seat before a specific deadline, then pay. at times you might pay a full duration tuition fees but if the sponsor/sponshorship is not credibe(using company sponsorship)to the VO's eyes,i don't see it excelling, but even if the sponsor is credible and have paid ur full tuition fee for ur duration, ensure that there is sufficient funds for ur MAINTEANCE/LIVING EXPENSES /TRANSPOATATION without working in canada in ur sponsor's account/transfered to yours if not you could be faulted in this aspect for insufficiency.

I change sponsor again (uncle) with cooperate account of 44m as available balance and inflow/outflow of 80m/120m. With personal account of 11m available balance inflow/outflow 44m/55m. My advice is, only if dere the cooperate account has good inflow/outflow within last 6months with a good available balance, then u can use it alone. Many friends here had used only cooperate account (non relatives)to get TRV. But with GRACE!

The best way to scale through corporate sponsorship is if the company can transfer the funds to your account and write a letter to that effect backed with board a resolution.

The thing is if I were a VO I would think that the highest a company would do for its employee is to give the employee a study leave with pay. I mean why would a profit making organisation sponsor it's employee to upgrade the employee's academic profile? Is it a charitable organisation?

This thing is very logical na. These VOs are proficient psychologist.... They're very logical.
