I know for sure that your visa will be processed and sent to germany. It will even be approved within the stipulated 4 to 6 weeks by the competent alien authority. If you haven't funded before then ,however, the lagos consulate will refuse to send you confirmation of visa but reminder to fund instead.

The statement above is at least true for myself and almost everyone i know who didn't fund before/immediately after interview.

Goodluck
Thanks very much my Oga @ the Top.
please which email address of the embassy did u used to forward the db confirmation to?

I need help as I'm a little bit confused on which school to choose. I have offer from TU Berlin and Leibniz Hannover for the same course.

The only advantages Hannover has over Berlin is that tutorials would be offered for missing basics from my undergraduate and I might be able to get studentenwerk accommodation. Berlin is better in all other aspects e.g. semester fee of €300 compared to Hannover’s €410, jobs etc. However, the tutorial aspect is very important as I don’t want to start struggling with academics. I contacted Berlin and I was told they will offer some tutorials but not certain yet for which courses until October and I fear the tutorials might not be in the fields I need.

I also need advice on which letter to take along on interview day. I applied since 5th July and just got a confirmation 2 days ago for 25th August. The issue is Hannover’s enrollment deadline is September 15 while Berlin is October 1. I initially planned to use Hannover but not sure again because of the closeness of interview date to enrollment deadline. I will appreciate as many opinions as I can get.

@michlan, Hannover is close to being impossible cos of the closeness of the deadline, so I'd go for Berlin.

Another thing, have you done your funding?

Thanks. I've not received my DB details yet but can i go ahead to fund before the interview date? I've mailed Hannover and they said i should mail them again a week to the deadline if they could help me extend it.

2. Student visa appointments Please note that student visa appointments can only be booked via e-mail to student@lago.diplo.de Please forward a copy of your blocked account confirmation as well as your university admission letter when applying for a visa. It is highly recommended to open the blocked account as soon as the university admission letter is received since the duration between the certification of your signature and the opening of your blocked account may take up to 8 weeks.

An appointment date will be given to you by return e-mail. Please note that this procedure also applies for language course visas for a duration of more than three months.

Please note that there are no more available dates for student visa application for the winter semester 2016/2017.

No, it isn't. Book the next available slot for DB account opening that corresponds to when your bank statement will be available. As you step out of the consulate, scan the receipt and book an appointment. To make it faster, save your admission letter and the biodata page of your passport, all as pdf files, as a draft message in your email. Once you're done from the embassy, scan the receipt and add it to the other documents in that draft. Immediately send it to the email address written at the back of the receipt. You should get a response email. hopefully, before the end of that day. The earlier you initiate the process, the safer it is for you. Good luck.

You need up to Oct at least. So you let them know. Of course you should fund immediately you've your a/c details, even better you go to the interview with a confirmation from DB since your deadlines are close

Well, I don't know about that; Germany is already too bureaucratic, and considering that the banking options on a national level are already limited (Deutsche Bank, Postbank, HypoVereinsbank, Commerzbank and Dresdner Bank), I honestly don't know why we're all compelled to use DB...
Noo it is not compulsory . Just the Embassy in Nigeria prefers it .

Deutsche bank and embassy shouldn't just keep adding more stress to us.
raising 8700€ in this our dying economy is just OK for us.
we don't need more stress
its high time we started making findings for ourselfs
we better write the embassy telling them we are sick and tired of DB's stress.we need other banks as option
those people are humans. believe u me, something good may come out.

If you have a residency permit in Bulgaria you can move to Germany - since they are both members of the EU.

But you should contact the immigration office and ask questions. I don't know sha - just thinking out loud

Hi. If you have Bulgarian resedence, you can stay in Germany for three months to find a job. If you don't get job, you don't get social benefits, absolute nothing and it's possible that they ask you to leave. A lot of new laws have been made here about that

Hello!
I really don't know why the consulate is forcing us to use DB (maybe they get a cut, who knows). You should write an email to them, as well as Commerzbank if your account can be used for that purpose, or if it can be done with a new account, or if it must be DB.

As for Marburg vs Kiel; I don't know anything about Marburg, but Kiel is a nice small place. If you followed the thread (at least from the latter half of part 2) you'd know that Kiel has a relatively large community here smiley [/quote]
