Go to a Jamaican church and find a lady you like,if it works out marry her. They dont believe in divorce and unlike nigerian women they will cook for you,are loyal and respect your role as the head of the family whether you are rich or not. Many people from my hometown did that and it worked out, some even brought their own to nigeria and they are still living together after 30 years of marriage.Follow my advice and come here and thank me after 10 years of marriage

Spot on. Presently dating one and i can tell you that Jamaican women are good wife materials.

You'd be surprise people still do, a man in his 30s who has no legal papers to travel out and don't want to marry oyinbo or Nija girl where he is, will ask his people back home to send a potential Jennifer. when she arrives , he discovers either she's a good girl or proper runs girl turn temporarily good for marriage sake. If the guy can't afford to give her the lifestyle she wants, she hooks up with another guy making money or an ex that's abroad as well....end of marriage. Bro I live abroad, I have seen things unimaginable within the Nigerian community in the last decade. Yes you right tonnes of educated women, have you also seen the rate of divorce in Nigerian communities? Remember education doesn't make you a wise or husband, also permit me to use this analogy, the fruit maybe attractive outside, it's the hidden worm inside you should worry about like you said it's a matter of choice .... Please any single ladies here, my mate his single with no baby mamas.... So msg me and I will send ur pics to him.. And you your credit rating has to be good grin grin

Just wondering why majority of them always rush back home to marry when there are handful of Nigerian ladies where they reside. Does it mean that none of them are wife material or what.
Should I leave virgins to marry olosho? Most naija women abroad have seen winter in the bedroom.

I agree with you. Those ones still believe in the traditional marriage, the conservative way. I have friends married to them- those with a consistent Christian history- and their marriage is bliss. Makes me want to change my decision of 'finding from Nigeria'! lol. Well, I am not changing that decision though. (The Jamaican ladies who are 'crazy' are different, though. Those ones are very crazy.)

Nigerian girls who act more feminist than the Scandinavians develop sense though, sadly at a later age of the forties.

I agree.
The ones in Nigeria are more spoilt. Easy money can get them laid unlike girls abroad. But the hirks abroad dont take no shit from guys. And unfortunately, men dont like marrying competetors but companions. Girls abroad dont understand that the best way to control your man is by being submissive, that way you can ask him anything and he will do it.

Spot on.

We all forget that there are things, evolutionarily honed character traits that make men different from women and which cements the social order.

Whereas men and women are and should be equal as human beings, they are not equal in social character traits.

Since the beginning, it's been not just a tradition, but an evolutionarily honed trait for women to marry up and men to marry down.

Call it insecurity, a complex or whatever you want to call it, the bottom line is that a man's ( African, Asian, middle Eastern, or white European) psyche is not hardwired for co-equal long term relationships with women.

Therefore, marrying a co-equal is a form of self-emasculation that modern society imposes on men.

And the consequences? High divorce rates in the West.

So, whether a lady has a great job, her one money, masters or PhD, makes no difference to African men still relish the old hierarchy where the man lies on top and the woman compliments him with her own feminine strengths right below.

Feminity is still a woman's greatest strength.

I find most African women abroad ditch their feminity for masculine attributes, calling themselves " strong women ".

The idea of intimacy and co-habitation with a " strong woman" is very unappealing to many men, Africans and non Africans .

So , at the end of the day, it is simple evolutionary biology at work, that make men, in this particular case, Nigerian men, seek humbler, home-bred women as lifemates.

Naija women living overseas have become more westernized than the westerners themselves. This is why the average Nigerian man living abroad will rather marry a fat white woman than a Nigerian woman living overseas. I have seen and heard situations were Nigerian/African women have ruined the lives of promising young men by formulating fictitious tales of domestic abuse and rape, simply because they want to get hold of his assets.
Seriously?? WTF, that's so cruel

And lest I forget too is the question of simple statistics.

Back home in Nigeria, there is far greater variety of women to choose from that meets a man's dreams or values than in any city abroad.
Therefore, a man has a far greater choice of meeting or hooking up a lady that meets his requirements like ethnicity, education, family background, social status, etc.

For example, if a man abroad is looking to settle down with an Igbo lady, preferably in the age range of 25-35, who also must be attractive, university educated, sane , humble and good character, from a decent family , then he is looking at a shrinking pool, because, the statistical probability of meeting a lady in that pool who is also looking for him is lower the further he moves from his home base.
In his hometown alone, he has a greater pool of women than in the entire city of London would offer him.

Boys will date, wine&dine even impregnate these ladies but still run back here for good old "home-loving" when marriage issues arises.

Apart from insane "family pressures" from home, it seems most, are, at heart still just akpu & ewedu boys when the chips are down tongue.
Bone the Brooklyn swags & the Cockney accent; our socio-cultural source-points did do a few numbers on us in setting some future marital expectations &agendas for us also cry.

So, the situation gets further worsened when the said ladies too don't seem to realize that some changes do occur, but only trans-'generationally' and not instantaneously. So as for ur expecting Naija guys to fit the bill of your newfound, "enlightened" or "postmodern man concept, U go jonze tire cool!

Not many are comfortable with the extreme liberalism, feminism and women's rights practised and available to our sistahs naturalised abroad but they'll date & screw u just d same tongue, only to dump u later or marry home-based Chichi, Enoh or Bola behind ur back!

Hence, You either get ready to search till you find that ur one-in-a-million guy OR you adjust your expectations and start learning to cook more than Chinese Noodles because if u do marry an Ewedu boy or his Akpu counterpart, my dear, you will cook. undecided
And Cynthia, stop praying for your Mother-in-law to die grin. (the old woman probably attends MFM Church &she's got a few "Back2Sender" prayer-bullets for you too, in case u decide to be an assassin)sad!
I may be wrong sha but the fault goes both ways.

Girls: Don't nurse "unnecessary" expectations just because dat guy dey folow u do UK Masters. undecided

In the few years I've spent in the US and Canada, I've seen many Nigerian men married to Nigerian women abroad. I've seen quite a few go back to Naija to marry.

So, I think it's a close call and depends on whether they've found what they're looking for in a life partner.

And some of those that marry from Nigeria, they prefer leaving their wives in Nigeria so they don't have stories that touches to share!!!

I disagree bro, no woman wants a wasteman, everywoman wants security for herself and children, why do you think the rich marry rich? besides if she wants more , she's sees the potential in you to be greater. Those kind of girls you mentioned are everywhere white or black and maybe you too go show yourself as a big boy when you 1st met, and now you can't keep up with the big boy status , so don't blame the girl blame your own decision making. The fact is women are more enlightened , empowered and self achieving, so any wasteman feels threatened and can't keep up with them. atleast one thing you said is right , go Nija go marry. Good luck

Everybody has the right to make his/her decision and nobody wants to suffer. If you know me personally, you will know there is nothing like showing any big boy status. She does not know my financial status. I never told her I was interested in her. We were just discussing as a group of four people.

There is nothing like threat. I am grateful to God for how far he has helped me so I don't need to blew NY trumpet.

I am writing from point of experience having lived here in America for 29yrs. When it was time to marry 21yrs ago it was trendy to marry from Nigeria based on the false notion that real men marry real Nigerian girls cos of the difficulties in bringing the women down here to America. That trend has since shifted to "smart guys" marry Nigerian ladies in America for the simple fact that when Nigerian ladies arrive America,in a space of 3yrs,they tend to be more difficult to deal with than those that knows how the society functions. That's why there are so much cases of divorce among Nigerians in the U.S. Nigerian women in America are no worse than their Nigeria - residing counterparts. It's a matter of choice.
Thread closed... They wont understand till they experience it. Most Home-based girls, change completely when they get to America...

Story of my life, I live in North America and while there are lots of Nigerian Ladies around with reputable families here and back home, some of us are (were always) attracted to ladies we've known from back home before we left, and see no reason not to go back for those ladies provided things work out. I have lots of good looking Nigerian females here but for some reason, If I had to make a choice between my female acquaintance in Nigeria and the ones here, I will pick the one back home over them, not so much for the location, but because of what I see and what I want.

Bros biko hook me up. Nigerians are scarce in my state (East coast, next door neighbours to New York). grin grin grin
Re: Why Is It That Nigerians Abroad Hardly Marry Nigerian Ladies Over There? by AreaFada2: 7:56pm On Aug 07, 2016
What many have not mentioned here is that this is not unique to Nigerians. I know many Western born and bred Asians, male and female who have married from Asia. Though some due to family pressure.

Ugandans, Kenyans, Ghanaians and other Africans marry from home too.

Remember also that most African men remain firmly African at heart. Years away from home and Western education not withstanding.

Marrying from home and starting a family gives the psychological impression of being able to imbibe African values in the kids coming soon.

Also, whether realistic or not, most men dream of returning to 9ja one day. That may seem more difficult with a non-submissive woman that had even found her way abroad in the first place.
I know some pensioners who have returned to 9ja and the wives chose to stay abroad.

Some of the brides taken abroad are long term girlfriends or teenage love too. Some re-acquainted through social media.

And the liberal western values we espouse abroad, how successful are their marriages in the West? 50% divorce rate. So maybe the men who stick to African values are not that unwise.

At the end, it is individual choice.
