My very good friend got a job in Immigration some months, but it was through her uncle in Abuja who had an HND slot. She didn't have to pay a dime and she has already resumed at their Obalende office.

I would prefer you get the job before you start payment to avoid stories that touch. If he is unwilling to give it to you then i'd say 'LEAVE IT'. 450k is not 450 naira.

Be wise.
GBAM!!!!!!
Use ur friend's borrowed 50k to pay the advance. then don't pay the balance and don't pay ur friend back his money until u get the job and actually start earning a salary from the Job.

Some month from now. Op would tell us he has gotten the job and that he paid the money, he would thank us for our advice , then he would say the Hausa man has like 10 slots for next year January. Then he would promise to link us to the man. We would all pay 50 k in to the Hausa man's account and then some unfortunate ones would even look for the 450k and pay part, at the end all of us would be massively scamed. That's a long term plan my dear. Op isn't gonna get scammed he wants to scam us. He is preparing our mind for it. Gotche rnx. I read too much

Never pay for a job. If they really want to give you the job, they would request that you pay then after you receive your first payment. Never pay to get a job. Instead carry that 500k invest for your biz. But OP, you dey craze o. You have a laundry biz, you dey do MMM and you want to register as a betting agent and you are looking for a job?!!!! WTF!!!!!

If you can gather 450,000, my brother that means you don't need a job. You are the job creator.

Bros, 50k is a risk worth taking as long as the balance would be paid AFTER you get your appointment letter that is confirmed. Moreover, your friend don help you with the 50k sef so you ain't got nuffin to loose. Abeg you say the slot na 4 abi, if you nor mind pm me make we discuss cos I also won't mind paying for one slot.

Good advice. I don't think someone doing under table deals will be sending implicating mails through his official email addy though. undecided
#firstflag

The likely scenario: After paying the first 50k, there will be some slight issues (probably some other officer knowing about it that needs to be settled), then he will be asked to raise 200-250k pronto (the friend will promise to help with something or half of that wink), and after 'first dropping' him go dey drop dey go . . ..

OTOH, if the OP is able to play down his hopes and discipline himself to 'knockout' of the deal if any other sum is asked after the first 50k paid, then he can give it a try . . . but ABSOLUTELY no payment till he receives his first salary . . . it is up to him to figure how he plays around that.

Agreed!

Report both of them to the authorities. Don't pay for jobs, it is illegal. Contribute your quota to bringing and end to cash for jobs. That way you and your children will have a better chance of landing government jobs.

I thought it was finished for this country until I read your comment and that of the dude above you. It hurts to be reading comments encouraging corruption and yet, we want change in the country.

Same thing happened to me about two yrs ago. But since I don't like uniform jobs, I then offered it to my cousin. The guy paid 100k through my friend's acct. Fast forward to today, the guy is still jobless and he lost his 100k, I had to give him 40k to offset some debt he incurred hustling for that job. So, just be careful and think it through.

Pleas just be careful so that you do not get scammed.

I know someone who paid N150, 000 during the last immigration recruitment, the story given to my friend is similar to yours. Hmm!

unfortunately, it was one of the stories that touches the heart.

All the best

9ja na one kind funny place I also hear say person go pay bribe for their child to go government school.

Since your friend already gave u, no loan oh the initial 50k and the balance is on appointment meaning at least after you get first month salary. Then no stress. Go for it.
I dont quite undastand you...

You are to pay 500k but 50k downpayment which u'll complete the 450 wen u get the appiontnent and that your friend already borrowed you 50k?.. if thats the case den I think you are already dulling youare not spending your money yet
*the mallam or aboki u speak about probably knows what you'll be earning when you get the job seeing that paying him his 450k shouldnt be abt u owning such money but

Hello Op. This Job is not for you. Even if it is genuine, would only make you a slave to this hausa man and your friend as they can later decide to use you and black mail you if you refuse to do illegal things in your line of duty as a custom officer.

Most people who help others gain jobs in the public sector, prefer to put their people in there, so that they can use them freely after all these are their people who they helped with jobs.

I for one, will never agree to pay a dime if am to be in such a situation.

Do not be desperate. Return the 50,000 Naira back to your friend politely, continue doing your little business and keep looking for submitting your CV for a Job.

If you can do the above which might be hard for you, i promise you that between now and August 2017, you would get a very good Job.

There is already a deal here. You do not lose anything. The money belongs to your friend who introduced you to the man. The man said you would pay the balance after you must have started. Go on and pay the money.
