Hello Fellow distributors, I have a deal with a farm in Ibadan for weekly Egg supply to Ikeja-Lagos, now the Challenge is this, my capacity is just 200 crates weekly but the farm said they cant do a deal of just 200 crates to Lagos from Ibadan weekly which i also know its not feasible for both parties. The least the farm can do is 500 Crates. Now I need other suppliers here in Lagos who we can collaborate together so that we can take up deal.
The Egg size is unsorted of Medium & Large @ 650/Crate + 40/crate for Tfare making 690/Crate. Presently in my area, unsorted egg size of medium and Large is been supplied for N800. whoever is intrested in this collaboration can call me or Whatsapp on 08073950426.

Make sure the room temperature is normal.
Avoid putting them in containers that are locked.
Avoid them having contact with water as much as you can

How do you know when an egg is bad:-
Look out for maggots or small flies hovering on any of them
Some do change colour to dirty white or brown
If you suspect any, just shake it holding it near your ear. If it ''sound'' like water in a keg its bad

This is an issue.
Infact one of my major supplier is working on this idea now. According to him once his search comes out with the right answer he will dump egg production for storage.

The ideas available for this is very unclear at the moment.
You can use oil. The oil is rubbed on an egg less than 24hrs of its lay.
The oil is allowed to dry making the oxygen inside the egg not to escape. However the egg loses its original taste when allowed to stay much long.

a. Find time and read this thread from the beginning till the last page
b. Do your own localized finding
c. Draw your business idea and approach
d. Come back here with your questions and we will thrash them

I have gotten my own share of ''indiscriminate'' supplies of the season.

You may ask how did I get into the mess?
Its a long story but the end thing is that I got eggs from three different sources and now about four of my major clients are on my neck for giving them spoilt eggs. The eggs went bad in just two weeks.

Be careful how you buy!
If you can take few crates from a new source, keep it for about two weeks before making a bigger purchase.

Dealing on large size egg is the key to scaring away new distributors who may want a client you are serving. Are you getting a good volume now?

Now that you have eggs coming to you without asking for it, use this simple idea to know the health of eggs:-
Just take one off the crate and smash it on the ground with a little force. If the egg york is round enough and ''standing'' on its own without mixing with the albumen, you are most likely dealing with a good one. If other wise, do the needful.

This is my problem with Nigerians ,most you all now go into same egg business? What happen to creativity in other business aspect rather than already saturated egg market out there.
My sympathy is for the vulnerable ones in here that are thinking that these theory is as easy as xyz. For you to succeed in business don't & I repeat do not follow the bandwagon.

Now that the big eggs are in vogue - how are you handling them to evade cracking?
For sure the size is a big disadvantage. Out of 50 crates [jumbo] I had on thursday, I lost about three [3] - they got cracked.
An old veteran [woman] gave me an idea for the future - use the back of your crates to store the big sizes. Instead of using the correct side of the crate, use the reverse side. It has more space than in other side.

Wow, I have just updated my e-book on egg distribution for the third time.
You would remember when I made mention of my little accident, the lessons I learnt from that incident formed the fulcrum of the latest chapter - Egg Care.

What is the present prices of unsorted eggs?
Re: My Experience In Egg Distribution Investment. by Blackkie: 11:03pm On Aug 15, 2016
This time around, many retailers are bombarded with irresistible offers from the left and right.
The best technique to keep them off your clients is to supply them large size eggs at a good rate.

A L E R T

Be careful how you buy eggs now.
Many of the eggs offered at give away rates may be bad.

Stories of deal gone sour abounds here and there.

Stick to the farm or a major distributor you can vouch for.

This egg business could be funny.
Right now in my area, there is a kind of scarcity and retailers are now going for ''2 for N50'' eggs.

But the rotten eggs don too much for area.
Farms are now technically limiting the eggs laid by their birds. It is well.

Blackkie:
From my second week, i have been making N15,000 weekly with N65,000 set aside for it.
Along the line i discovered that the large size and poulette size eggs are demanded more by the few i have contact with. Here is what i did - i got a mid-size farm owner earlier in the year who gave the the right of first refusal in bulk purchase. I purchase a 100 crates of eggs {large size} from him at N630 and supply it wholly to a 'big' retailer at N730. This gives me N10,000 net-profit. I also made another round of purchase of 100 crates of non-sorted which i disburse to different shop owners, Aboki's that cook Indomie and Eggroll makers. Due to the cost of fuelling the car and other expenses, i ended up with N5,000 more.
N15,000 income weekly is encouraging to me being new in the business.
