is the application for September intake? if it is for September I think it was quite late to apply 6weeks back and they may have volumes of applications to go thru during summer and trust me a lot of staffs 'generally' go on leave during this time lol..but I guess the program should have a January intake so if the admission comes late you can differ till January.

well any program in Technology , multimedia ,web design I think the College is very good choice , tho am not at the St James campus where your fam will be taking the program but there is a good proximity

Yes. I applied for Network & systems security analysis program for January 2017. But I've not heard from them since last week.

@ bolded... For the fact that our parents went thru civil war for 3 years, don't you feel we're better than them?

Also, an average youth of these days doesn't want to go thru stress. He or she just wants to build a duplex or drive 2016 model car overnight.

Have you ever imagined how far they walked those days? Some of them go to school walking over 5-10 kms everyday. They go into the forests to fetch firewoods, they go to the stream to fetch water and the list goes on.

Bros, our parents really suffered. I don't envy them.
If that is where your looking at it from then that's not the angle I am looking at it from...I have heard from the elderly of how this country was before and how they enjoyed it...Infact an elderly person said this " what you young ones are presently going through we didn't go through or see it" infact there suffering was worth it after walking long kilometers going to school and fetching fire wood they came out getting good jobs, some where sponsored abroad and then our currency made sense.

My uncle told me that during his time if you had SSCE there was job for you, if you went to typing school and knew short hand job was there for you, No one was looking forward to leaving the country, people studied abroad and came back. Graduates where known for there apartment and PAN 504 and 505. In fact I know of an Uncle that entered Mobil then with SSce he was there marry, gave birth to kids, advanced to HND, BSC, MSC and PHd. Our parents didn't use to get treated anyhow as at then just cause they wanted to travel, travelling was less stressful rather what they got was a statement written boldly on their box that goes " REMEMBER THE FAMILY YOU COME FROM"

Fast forward to our time we go to school by car, bus or plane, don't have to trek, have got internet and all but yet come out of school and no job, things don't seem to make sense any more...you then start looking forward to travelling out and they still treat you any how cause you want to abandon ship go to embassies and see how Nigerians are treated...

Our parents didnt have to put up with some of the things we going through now. we live in a very complicated time plus bad leaders making the country a HELL on EARTH.

I studied chemical engineering and I applied for a PGD in Chemical Production and Power Engineering Technology. My current job is related to my proposed program as clearly stated in the letter of employment from my employer. I am with a company that specialize in wellhead maintenance.

Na to use your visit visa enter and change ur status be d surest tin b4 ur visa expires. No dull ur self bro

I feel so too but in other to satisfy my curiosity, I will wait for the gcms notes. I applied for it last night, that would take about 40 days as the site stated. What I find ludicrous is why discriminate against people based on their proposed level of study? I have a second class upper in Chemical Engineering but doing a master's degree won't add to my field knowledge in my line of work. A PGD would go a long way to empower me with more practical knowledge in my field but then CIC knows best in their mind.

However, to defy CIC I will take a trip to Canada next month with my visitor's visa and possibly visit Lambton College. I have been told there is no January intake for my course, only September.

From my findings, you can't change your status from a visiting to study permit in Canada. I will do more research on that possibility though. If you have any info, please kindly share.

What is even annoying me most is the fact that I will lose about 10% of my fees if I ask for a refund. That's quite a lot in this economy coupled with the fact one has already lost almost 250 CAD in application and biometric fees.

Can a Nigerian without a residence status in the US apply in the Los Angeles office? I doubt that.

You can't because of biometrics.

Before biometrics, it was possible.

True talk bro.

The only reason is this : Exponential rise of technology is and will continue to cause loss of jobs. Population is also on the increase, in addition to the leaders as you rightly stated.

A job that'll take 100 people in those days requires less than 10 people now because there are automated machines to do those jobs and employers are loving it the more because it saves them operating costs.

That's why I'm a strong advocate of entrepreneurship today cos that's the only solution. Find a problem people are facing, look for a solution and bridge that gap.

Unfortunately, these are not taught in our schools these days. We're taught to become employees.

It is well with us.

My brother you too have spoken the truth.

However, our leaders with proper planning and dedication to the people would have made this country a wonderful place. There is nothing we don't have in Nigeria. If the citizens even decide not to work they can still be catered for if we had a reasonable system free from corruption, ethnic and tribal bigotry.

All the best in life bro.

It is well with us.

that program is an advanced diploma program not PGD. advanced diploma programmes are lower than Bachelors degree which you already have. probably that's the reason behind their delay. but these days dey delay and reject PGD and PGCerts with reckless abandon... dunno why.. but as for the program you chose, it sends a bad signal to the VOs cos it's lower than your first degree

Check for tips before you contact any supervisors. Just find their official email adress and send them a mail and hope and pray for a response sharp sharp.
