The whole thing is a big scam.. Even people like tinubu have not shown any interest in the oil showing it's fake

Among the 5well in lagos, one of the oil well belongs to FG according to the depth at wich the oil was found.

So, lagos state owns the oil block

It's a marginal field so they only pay royalties to federal government and taxes to state government. 60% Federal and 40% operator don't apply here. It's not about Lagos except for employment and above mentioned purposes.

I wanted to say this too but I think to my own little understanding... FG could not funds the searching but Folawiyo risk the funds as a business man with Lagos state govt which will now be partnership with FG after it has yielded positive result. Just like what some economist has advised FG to do on northern discovery of oyel, in other not to risk the funds and not having positive result or low quantity, if a private company can risk the funding then they can partner with the FG if there is positive result.

You can add your own ideas...

i don't mean to shade you but hydrocarbon content is not the test for purity of crude. in fact, refining method of a crude is what absolutely matters.

Whether you are sure or not, who cares ? What matters is ours is of a finer grade and we are winning. Ogun will soon join coupled with being an industrial hub. Party politics notwithstanding, SW states will subsidize and carry one another along to build a powerful, modern union that no schism can divide.
We've a good heritage to be proud of.
Haters can go hug a transformer as we move on unconcerned.

thanks. But if that is the case then I believe we have rich deltans that can handle oil blocks in their region instead of the 'Government takes all' attitude of the FG and the distribution of oil block to the likes of indimi, danjuma etc.

Even as civilized and educated as the SW is, especially Lagos, that hasn't stop the agberos and the omo oniles from constituting nuisance. Failure of the government to make a proper planning for the present and future can breached the peace and the calmness being exercise by the SW in a long run. Even that of the SW could turn out to be worst, practically putting an end to this fruitless and agonies marriage.

Hmm

Bad news for Lagos really.

Good news for Lagos would be the UK receiving the first cargo of made in Lagos cars, phones, PC, tablets, etc.

Oil is a ''useless'' commodity. It only makes economies flabby and lazy.

Same goes for every other oil producer in Nigeria.

Am off to work.

Thank you very much,I even thought it will be refined products that will exported....crude oil export again, only God knows whats wrong with Nigeria...... Anticipating the completion of dangote refinery.
Re: UK To Receive Cargo Of Lagos Oil In September For The First Time by Nobody: 8:50am On Aug 26, 2016
Inasmuch as this is good news and it will help make some people eat the humble pie, I still think the way to go is industrialisation, manufacturing and processing and not oil.

The world is moving gradually away from oil towards sustainable energy sources like solar and wind.

Besides, oil won't guarantee jobs for the millions of youths walking around with their tails between their legs, jobless.

There has been a plan in place for over 6 years. This was long in the making and started under Tinubu as governor. There is also prospecting going on in ogun state as we speak and that should materialize in a number of years

Before and after oil Lagos state and many other SW states under APC control have always had an honest desire and drive to improve the lives of the people ;we don't engage in blatant corruption and it's promotion like is applicable in delta and Bayelsa.

Ogun, Oyo, Lagos, Osun and Ekiti for a while have always displayed an honest resolve even if the results are not great often. If these states had the resources of these useless SS governors they would be a billion times ahead.

The SS and it's people are the primary reasons for their failures some of us don't buy that victim snake oil they are trying to sell

They have to bid for and but the rights to the blocks. They are business men what were they doing when shell and BP have up all their onland blocks in the late 2000s and government was selling it. I can remember Deziani have most of it to her cronnies and friends including the rich jeweller that sponsors Duncan Mighty.

Just 5,500 barrels of oil per day and people are jumping. If you are not business inclined you wont understand. For your information.

The oil and gas industry in the United Kingdom produced 1.42 million boepd.UK exports of oil-related goods and services have been estimated

at more than $40 billion a year in value. This amount is a reflection of how well established the UK's supply chain is internationally. The

competence of its people and the quality of its technology, particularly subsea, are very much in demand in oil and gas provinces around the

world.

Ewu Gambia !

I think you need to read the story again. The 5,500 bpd was for testing and licensing purposes. When a new oil platform is built it needs to 1. Test production operations in order to receive export licensing permits. The test production capacity per day is what was referred. 2. For any installation whether it is a biscuit factory or an oil platform, you never start at full capacity; you ramp up slowly until you reach full capacity. 3. Oil rigs sit on oil " fields and you can drill an indeterminate amount of well on a field. The initial two wells will produce 12,000 bpd each. What is more interesting is that initial daily storage capacity is 40,000 bpd with total capacity of 750,000 barrels.

I think you can see where this is going.

But even as significant is the "650 billion cubic feet (bcf) of gas, which if harnessed in two to three years’ time, could supply Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub, all the gas feedstock it needs for the thermal power stations and other manufacturing concerns domiciled in the state and its environs"

Please read further at http://sweetcrudereports.com/2016/05/31/lagos-aje-oilfield-produces-in-excess-of-10000-bpd/
