Jeez! Don't wallow in ignorance dear. A negative HIV test result does not confirm actual absence of the virus. The routine test carried out using conventional test strips ain't conclusive. A HIV positive person could test negative. BE CAREFUL!!!

I was asking myself the same question too.
@Op, the issue you raised about fake condoms is very important to married folks because many of them have issues with other birth control methods, many of which tend to have negative side effects.
The above problems makes the condom, one of the most safe (without negative side effect) means of birth control for the folks in question.

Better to close down factories than endanger the health of people. It is for the common good.
Fake condoms are dangerous. Condoms are important. Other than prevention of pregnancy, what of stis and hiv ?
There will be an increase in the spread of such diseases when people are responsible enough to wear condoms, but the condoms are unfortunately fake and useless.

This is the first time I'm hearing of fake condoms. I thought burst condoms are as a result of their quality, not originality.

A condom like Gold Circle, which is government subsidised cannot be compared to one like Karex or Ruff Ryder. These ones are a lot more expensive than 50 naira Gold Circle, so they may be of better quality and durability.

I equally believe since there are different grades of condoms, there will equally be different qualities. If one bursts it means it is of low quality, so change to another!

I stand to to be corrected though. I truly have no idea about fake condoms.

Not enough lube... The human body sometimes doesn't react well to rubber and the result is a dry female core which may increase friction and tear the condom

Large sized tools may be too large for the condom and in the course of action, it may rupture

Poor storage... Some guys are in the habit of leaving their condoms in their wallets and cars and they may suffer from the effects of heat. I recommend storing condoms in cool dry places

Oil for lube... Some guys use substances not recommended for lube such as olive oil or baby oil. It can destroy the condom while in use

If u want to use any condom, pls ensure it has a NAFDAC number and the SFH logo. That way u are sure of good quality. also try to avoid things that may degrade the condom

There are a lot of fake products in Nigeria,condoms included.

Condoms in my list of fake things, really does not count as bad as the Fake Medicines that are produced En Masse for the consumption by ordinarily Nigerians, especially medications that are taken by Children.

1- The NAFDAC Should be empowered like the EFCC to go after Offenders, and Judges should sentence those making sub standard products like Medicines and Condoms spend a long time in Jail.

2- 80% Of all fake everything in Nigeria, comes from the East. The Authority knows these factories and people that produces these fake products. Arrest them, close down their factories.
