Animated and heated discussion cannot be exempted from politics.

Your thread is a geopolitical sacrilege fraught with misleading information to hoodwink Nigerians and belittle our psyche in the midst of African global audience. You're a turncoat, a mindless traitor and politically amoral.

When you set out to pen this thread, your goal was to discredit the APC ( I don't care for either the PDP or APC) and you cared little about the means in satisfying your objective; discrediting Nigeria falsely is nothing to you as long as slaying APC or Buhari is your mission.

You're a little minded person and unthinking one. Go heal yourself from your personal generated APC-monomania.

Let me tell you about the country, Nigeria the country of my identity:

Nigeria alongside Egypt, Lybia, Algeria, South Africa are the principal donors of the AU. Yes. The AU survives on us and few charitable foreign donors. Kenya isn't there.

Nigeria is the highest UN peacekeeping donor to the AU just behind Ethiopia.

Nigeria is in the MINT counties alongside countries like Mexico, Indonesia and Turkey. That's our projection.

Nigeria is the only subsaharan country to launch her own satellite into space and it's used by several African countries.

Nigeria has one of the highest per capital income in Africa (5th) and Kenya didn't make the cut.

75% of the entire economy of West Africa is controlled by Nigeria.

Nigeria is home to Africa's biggest number of billionaires

Home to Africa's 2nd conglomeration of millionaires just behind south Africa! Kenya isn't there.

Nigeria has one of the highest internet users and penetration in all of Africa.

Kenya is synonymous with animals and wild life.

Nigeria is home to Africa's largest and biggest entertainment industries (3rd worldwide).

In the streets of Kenya, Zimbabwe and other eastern African countries Nigeria's model of entrepreneurship is being envied.

In Africa's diplomatic corridors, only 5 powerful and influential countries are known;

They are;
Nigeria
Egypt
South Africa
Ethiopia (which is East/central Africa's power house and not Kenya)
Algeria.

The other countries are geopolitical tagalongs.

Do you see ? When I call you an ignoramus and a fool, I wasn't trolling. I was addressing you by your name.

You're half-educated in these matters.

Once again stick to domestic politics. I really long to troll sense into your head.
again another killer..

You Need to create thread for this to educate these ignorant ret.ards I share country with.

I would like to fault you on the grounds of sedimented build up of condensed hypocrisy.

Donald, like lezznjr whom you quoted refused to be politically correct in the face of an ever-increasing hypocritical world that is ready to sell its values for acceptance. In the face of deep, unfathomable insult to the over 170mil Nigeria on an open, wildly-spread internet forum with international outreach by comparing Nigeria to Kenya in a misleading manner, can produce an indignation as blazing as an angry volcano. And the young man simply responded with a matching, unyielding patriotic gusto.

I understand your grudge in feeling slighted with the dishonourable comparison; but you showed your core when you honoured your handle above the dignity of your fellow country men.

While Nigerians have always pride in the self titled "African Giant" rhetoric, facts on ground shows otherwise. Though we generate more revenue than Kenya, which is 70% due to the gift of nature under our soil(Petrodollars), Nigerians still lag behind greatly in basic things when compared to the East African giant.

This is just brazen ignorance and lack of any knowledge and understanding about your own country.

Lagos's GDP alone which is an ordinary state in Nigeria IS $131 Billion while Kenya's entire GDP is meager $63

And Lagos's GDP is almost free of oil money and can function easily without oil money

Lagos economy is the 7th largest in Africa, larger than 40 African countries economy so what's the meaning of the weak, inaccurate and baseless rubbish.

Lagos alone can buy and sell the whole of kENYA

Kenya, a country that lags behind an ordinary state is better than Nigeria economically?

Please confine such jokes to yourself..

According to 2015 data from World Health Organisation, Nigeria's male and female life expectancy are 52years and 56 years respectively, meaning an average Nigerian is expected to die before he/she turns 60. Meanwhile, the expectancy for Kenyan male and female are 61 and 66 years respectively. Similarly, while Nigeria has the 10th highest infant mortality rate worldwide with average 72 deaths per 1,000 birth, Kenya's infant mortality rate is rated 52nd in the world with average 32 deaths per 1,000 births. This means it is safer to give birth in Kenya than in Nigeria, and an average Kenyan living in Kenya is expected to live longer than an average Nigerian living in Nigeria.

Cuba has better life expectancy than the United States, but does it mean Cuba is better than the US? Are Cubans still not dying trying to cross the ocean to seek a better life in the US?

This is the lamest and thoughtless rubbish on NL in a long long time..

Though Nigeria has more tourism potential than Kenya, but Kenya is one of the choice destination for vacation in West Africa. While Nigeria managed to rake in $601 million as Tourism receipt(Revenue) in 2014, Kenya raked in $1.833 billion in the same year. Nigeria can't even boast of a National carrier meanwhile Kenya Airways, the National Carrier of Kenya boasts of 45 Aircrafts in their fleet with 4,000 workforce strength. In addition, Kenya Airways is reputed to be one of the best in Africa.

Of what relevance is this? The fact that they have a National airline and tourism means they are better?

We have 2 deep seaports under construction

We have $15 billion largest single refinery in the world under construction, largest petrochemical plant in Africa under construction, largest fertilizer plant, largest gas plant with 1000km under sub gas pipeline, we have thousands of KM rails system under construction or about to start.

Our $12 billion coastal rail system is the largest public works in Africa

Yes we have economic challenges, but Kenya is not anywhere close to even our shoes, not in a million years.

Should we start listing what we have that they don't have and can never have in a million years?

Lame argument indeed. There are better countries all over the world without National airline and tourism like Kenya, but does it mean kenya is better than them?

In Africa, Kenya is the leader of Mobile money. Nigeria is still still battling to get it right in the ICT sector with poor infrastructure, lack of power, lack of political will, and fantastically corruption.

So what they have mobile money? What's this got to do with Nigeria?

Nigeria remains the largest E-commerce economy in Africa, something Kenya can not smell in many many decades to come.

Nigeria is far ahead of kenya in ICT so where is your Nigeria struggling from?

The most powerful ICT innovations in Africa emanated from Nigerians and created by Nigerians.

What are the ground breaking ICT innovations in Kenya?

We have eTranzact which is multi-channel electronic transaction switching and payment processing platform that already evolved into a multinational brand, rolling out products in 6 other countries including South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Cote d’Ivoire and United Kingdom

Facebook CEO spent days in Nigeria and even returned to Nigeria to attend ICT events and dialogue with the Nigeria leadership, but he spent less than a day in Kenya.

Facebook and his wife's first ICT investment in AFRICA of $24 went to an ICT innovation company founded by a Nigerian and based in Lagos, Nigeria, not in Kenya.

We have the second or third largest movie production in the entire world, not Kenya

At present Nigeria is experiencing recession in her economy, one would expect Nigerians to shun frivolties and seek for ways to turn the recession to prosperity instead of wasting productive hours fighting our African brethren over irrelevances. Why would one who is rationing his/her phone battery life due to epileptic power supply still spend the little battery life s/he got through his/her generator to abuse someone in Nairobi who is neither rationing his/her phone battery life nor is depending on generating set for power? There is no trophy or reward for social media fight, Nigerians should stop sending the wrong image to the world that our greatness lies in social media wars.

Frivolities is you and your half baked take on your own country, a half baked thought that says Kenya is better than your own country when facts on the ground claims otherwise.

We compete with SA, not little Kenya that's way way below our scale across the board..

I don't know where you people get this mindless self hate, self loathing, country hating, country bashing and unpatriotic attitude from, but it reeks ignorance and zero knowledge about your own country.

But in Tomi Davies’ and Kirsten Buch’s opinion, attention is suddenly shifting from those two competitors up there to Lagos. Lagos is now the focus of start-up and ICT attention in Africa with the arrival of AngelFairWestAfrica and the soon-to-be-launched 88Mph accelerator unit.

While Kenya may have had the first incubator space outside of South Africa and there is a constant stream of start-ups getting profiled from there, a Nigerian probably wrote the manual on self-promotion. It has been a struggle overcoming the stereotypical reputation that doing business in Nigeria and Lagos got, but dare I say, Nigeria is steadily climbing out of that hole.

Lagos is developing an ICT-themed start-up ecosystem that is drawing international investment and has seen the launching of several incubators [iROKO’s Spark, IDEA, Rocket’s space and CcHub] and with a market big enough to make certain kinds of online plays and an estimated 700,000-1,000,000 broadband consumers in the city, Lagos is in the running.

Kirsten Buch, founder of 88Mph, says of his company “The plan was always to cover Africa and you can’t really say you’ve got African coverage, if you’re not in Nigeria… Kenya has been destroyed by the impact of NGO funding. On the media side, it’s been well exposed and there’s a lot on the surface. Real substance, companies that are successful? There’s not a lot. The Kenyan business community have also become discouraged by that…The bigger, serious investors lean more towards Nigeria. It’s mostly about market size. You can scale something here.”

http://techcabal.com/2014/05/12/ict-face-off-lagos-vs-kenya-vs-south-africa/

That's TechCabal clearly saying Lagos Nigeria is the place to be in terms of ICT and not kenya so what's the ignorant nonsense about Nigeria is struggling in ICT? What a load of ignorant rubbish...

Pay strong attention to the red highlight about Kenya ICT.

A lot of ICT noise in Kenya, but not a lot of success or successful ICT businesses.

Nigeria's ICT businesses are doing great hence global attention from the likes of Facebook investing in our ICT instead of Kenya.

Nice one, but Kenya is not in West Africa OP, you might want to edit that.

OTOH, Nigeria has lots of edge over Kenya too (and my affiliation to Kenyans is very strong), though most of them are unutilized potentials.

Like my Singaporean business partner will say, "Nigeria, rich country, poor people".

I hope he reads this post and likewise others unduly castigating the fatherland (out of share hatred for the President I guess)

The mobile money aspect caught my attention quickly.
He forgot that mobile money thrives in underdeveloped financial systems.

Mobile money is mainly about financial inclusion for the 'under-priviledged'.

We have Mobile banking which is advanced in all spheres. Our payment financial systems is as good as world class.

So I don't know why they feel having mobile money is better.

BTW we have mobile money in many facets. We have even advanced it further

I am saddened by the continuous act of some of my compatriots to always engage in social media fight with fellow Africans, most notably our brothers and sisters from Ghana and Kenya.
It is even unfortunate that these countries Nigeria youths love to abuse on social media are doing better than our potentially great country in virtually ALL SHERE despite the fact that we(as a country) have more revenues, potentials, and opportunities. If Nigerians are not aware of the superiority(in terms of living) of other Africans over us, I will have to educate them using Kenya as a case study.

OP, kindly pardon my lack of polished English language
and address the obscurities below.
what's actually your definition of "all sphere"?
Cos I just can't put that behind me, cos it leaves a pervasive flaw in ur post.
By " all sphere ” would you be including;
education,
sport,
politics,
health,
population,
military strength,
business climate,
entertainment,
Info.Tech and certain spheres that might have eluded me now?

Can you be more unequivocal about ur post?
For a minute, I took you for a Kenyan before I noticed ur name.

If those aforementioned areas are among ur " all spheres" then ur level of information is either grossly inadequate or deliberately inadequate.

And one more thing, I've you been to Kenya b4 to speak audaciously?
Cos I have .

your title says "in all aspects" you listed only health and tourism.

As for the ICT, note that MOBILE MONEY is not a same as ICT. Nigeria is far ahead of Kenya in MOBILE BANKING as against MOBILE MONEY.

MOBILE MONEY thrives in kenya due to the absence of Commercial Banking infrastructure and integration of ePayment channels (MOBILE BANKING, ATM, POS, ONLINE PAYMENT GATEWAYS). These however is in advanced stages in Nigeria..

Nigeria is ahead of Kenya as a technology hub

God bless you. How can OP relate ICT to only mobile money. Nigerian ICT sector is 100 times bigger than Kenya's.. He did not do a deep research on that.

I am saddened by the continuous act of some of my compatriots to always engage in social media fight with fellow Africans, most notably our brothers and sisters from Ghana and Kenya.

It is even unfortunate that these countries Nigeria youths love to abuse on social media are doing better than our potentially great country in virtually all sphere despite the fact that we(as a country) have more revenues, potentials, and opportunities. If Nigerians are not aware of the superiority(in terms of living) of other Africans over us, I will have to educate them using Kenya as a case study.

In Africa, Kenya is the leader of Mobile money. Nigeria is still still battling to get it right in the ICT sector with poor infrastructure, lack of power, lack of political will, and fantastically corruption.

Nigeria is a great country with potentials, filled with great prospects, but we can never be great if we don't channel our time and resources to fix our country.

A word should be enough for the wise... May God Bless Us All, and Bless Nigeria
